This used to be their playground (A leauge of their own)

The all American Girl's Professional Baseball league started something wonderful for women everywhere.

The Movie 'A League of their own' made it come to life in it's own way.

In 1992, Penny Marshall (with the help of her late brother Garry) decided to make a movie honoring the AAGPBL.

Geena Davis, Lori Petty, Rosie O'Donnell and Tom Hanks were all in the feature and so was another. MADONNA. She portrayed Mae, who showed it all, and it seemed her character was so much like her in every single way.

There were amazing scenes and quotes that were known from everyone, even the famous: "THERE'S NO CRYING IN BASEBALL!!" from Tom Hanks' character Jimmy Dugan.

They soon meet up with another girl (portrayed by voice actress Megan Cavanaugh) but Jon doesn't like her look, but the girls will not go without her because she was so good hitting.

They soon meet up with others like, Betty Spaghetti who's husband was stationed in the war (since this took place around WWII) just like Geena Davis' character's husband.

I really loved the movie when it came out, I was only eight and I didn't really didn't understand what was going on much, until I saw it again years later. The scene where who's wife's husband dies in the war, and knowing that John and Joan Cusack's sister (Anne) had a small roll in this feature.

But we have to remember it was all based on a TRUE STORY.
If it wasn't for the AAGPBL to start with, we wouldn't have this movie at all. It wasn't because the men went to war and the women played sports, it was because the woman can do anything men can do. They were strong players that showed they had what it take to play in the big leagues.

Ann Harnett was the first to sign in to the big leagues along with Shirley Jameson and Edith Perlick.

And the legacy will always live on in this movie, even if the characters aren't real the story of women playing the big leagues are. Till then, enjoy! Ciao for now bloggers
