Poem

We are our own creation
We see ourselves in light
In our hearts
In our minds
the signs are there
We see that it is just
in us, to explore
and dream
and inspire

Torture is our enemy,
fear is not what we
shall see in us
or become

We are only human,
and we want to become,
what we want to be

from poets and
writers

Who torture with,
words of inspiration
deep dark paths of sadness
tears in their eyes
in their words.
Power with words
We are all Human.

yummy chocolates

I am a chocoholic, and I have blogged about chocolate before. But now I have been starting to see nothing but Halloween candy in August.
  (No Surprise there)

I have now tried more than just a bar of chocolate now and then. I've been thinking about....
gourmet chocolate and what the history behind that is.
Image result for gourmet chocolate Chocolate was considered sinful back in the patriotic days, and even very expensive as well. Gourmet or not, it was also a luxury item and many used chocolate for currency.

And the wealthy kept it a secret for so many years. But then, Spain brought chocolate over to southern America but it wasn't the chocolate we are known for today. It was bitter, and sometimes it was used as a drink (a 'la coffee or teas) chocolate had it's own version of chocolate drink.

Soon... dark chocolate was all the rage and popular mostly in Europe. But how did chocolate become so sweet, and yummy? Different variations of chocolates like 'bitter-sweet' 'organic' even 'dark' have had gourmet makeovers.

Some turned into chips, they would have nuts in them or mint, even cocoa powder is not what it use to be.
Sweetness with chocolate, so indulging it can be. But if it weren't for a little nut from the Mesoamerica, given from the Aztecs, and Spain, it wouldn't be with us today.

Even back then, the Aztecs used it as a drink and put spices in it. From then to today, chocolate has changed in so many ways, and delicious to this day.
Enjoy the pleasures one bean has given us.

80 and going on strong

Today Robert Redford is 80  years old and I can't believe he is still acting. Image result for robert redford 80 years old

Born August 18th in 1936, Robert Redford was born 'Charles Robert Redford Jr.'

He actually started out in Television in 1959 at the age of 20 with the show 'Naked City' He also debut in theater in a small roll called 'Tall Story' He even stared as a young frightened man that needed help from a frightened woman played by the late Gladys Cooper in a classic 'Twilight Zone' episode.
His first wife dropped out of college to merry him, and they had a few kids, sadly they would later divorce.

His big movie we would come to love would be ones he stared with big movie stars like the late Paul Newman in 'Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid' It would also be one of my favorite Robert Redford movies I have seen next to a few that were ok, but not as great as that.

* The Horse Whisperer
*A bridge too far
and even:
  *The original Great Gatsby

A bridge too far is when Robert Redford stars as Major Julian Cook. It also stars Michael Caine and James Cann. It was an alright movie. I never really saw it all the way through but it was one of Robert's best, along with Butch Cassidy.

Now he's going to star in a remake of Pete's Dragon, well I wouldn't call it a remake. The original was more of a musical with the late Mickey Rooney. The Pete's Dragon is more of an action adventure where Robert Redford stars as a girl's adopted grandfather. It's a small role he's doing but it shows he can still act at 80.

I feel he might live to see 90 and that he has a lot more acting up his sleeve. He's the kind of actor that never knows when to quit and I don't think he wants to. I'm glad he's still acting, he is one of my favorite actors.

Godzilla 98

Just saw the 98 version of Godzilla and what do I think about this movie is...

WOW what a piece of garbage. Is it just me or did I just see something that looks like something really bad.
Just let me tell you about it.

I feel the acting is not that great and well... did they get every voice actor of the Simpsons on it as well??

Another thing is every scene they had, it was nothing but rain,
rain,
rain.
I just noticed they only had one nice day in the movie and every other time, was just a rain cloud hovering over someone's head.

Alright I didn't really hate the movie but it wasn't great. It seemed that it was not as amazing as they thought it would be when it was coming out in 1998.

The one that just came out...

It was shorter, has Bryan Cranston in it (not annoying Matthew Broderick) and you didn't see Godzilla that much. But it still wasn't that amazing because it focused on a family and not the monster or the city.

1998 Godzilla focused on New York City, and so many other placed that it just seemed all over the place.

The music, OMG. It was one of the Led Zeppelin singers with P Diddy using the song "Kashmir" which I love and P Diddy putting lyrics in it.
I think "Kashmir" is better the way it is. Why do we need P Diddy screwing it up.

I know it isn't one of the best Godzilla movies we have, but at least Godzilla 98 had some intense moments. Not the best, but seemed to work with some of the audience saying they liked it, and it was longer than the new Godzilla we had.

The people who made this also gave us Independence day and the Independence day remake and believe me I'd rather see Godzilla 98 over those movies any day. Enjoy all the action of a dinosaur terrorizing NYC because of an experiment gone wrong. Till then, I'll enjoy any crazy action film that comes my way.
Ciao Bloggers! And beware of Godzilla.
