The Cleopatra Exhibit

Went to the Franklin Institute a few days ago, and they had a exhibit on Cleopatra the supposed last queen of Egypt. She was not one of those nice queens. She fell in love with many, including Julius Caesar and Antony. The exhibit had everything that explorers dug from the ocean outside Egypt, near Alexandria where Cleopatra's tomb was buried. I enjoyed the exhibit a lot and when she was only 39, she decided to end her life by a snake bite, but she was known for many things. Not pleasant things, but they made so many movies with actresses, such as Elizabeth Taylor, portraying her.
I enjoyed the exhibit, but I haven't been to that museum in many years. But I still learned something new about Cleopatra. Not only that she knew Antony and Caesar, but she married her three year old (it was either her brother or son I'm not sure). That's all I want to blog about for now. If I don't blog again till September, have a happy and safe labor day! Caio Bloggers!

Pizza: why I love it

Why am I making a post about pizza? Well maybe because, I LOVE PIZZA! What would my perfect type of pizza be? Well a pizza called a pizza margherita. What is a pizza margherita? Well, thanks to noble Queen Margherita of Savoy sometime in 1889, craved a new dish called 'pizza'. People started to question her, since they thought pizza was more of a peasant dish. But she wanted it anyway, so a chef made three pizzas for her, and the third one, my favorite, was the Margherita's favorite. The pizza has tomato sauce, fresh mozzarella and basil. It was the three colors of the Italian flag, and that's maybe another reason why the queen loved it. I always thought that since I love pizza margherita, I might have been Queen Margherita of Savoy in a past life, and I think I was.

I've been through so many pizzerias in my day, and tried many pizzas, and believe me, I still have more to go. Haven't been to New Haven's known pizzerias like Sally's Apizza and Frank Pepe's. I haven't tried Lombardi's, the first licensed pizzeria. I like New York style pizza a lot better than Chicago style. Chicago style is just too doughy for me. I admit that sometimes I'll order a pan pizza at pizza hut, however, I don't care much for those pizzas anymore. Now a days. I make homemade pizza, and it is good. Well that's all I wanted to say. Till then, Ciao bloggers, and pray for Haiti and the gulf waters!
