The Storm of 6/24

First off, I was at the doctors when this happened. When we got outside, my mom and me, and we saw a very dark sky. I thought to myself, 'OK another thunderstorm on the way' but this was not a normal thunderstorm. This one was very, very, scary.

We got in the car and started driving home. My mom replies that we were going to be getting some wind, and all of the sudden, a piece of something, that looked like a rocked, hit the windshield, passenger side. I was so scared, I almost had a heart attack, no kidding. The rain started getting heavier as the sky started getting grayer. Happily, we got home safe, only to see a big branch on a tree next to our deck, started cracking and decided to fall to the ground, still holding on to the tree. Our deck was OK, but what we also saw was across the street at our neighbor's backyard, two huge trees, came down and landed on the backyard, and destroyed a fence. Happily to say, no one was hurt. But it was like a huge storm, or possibly a tiny tornado, touched down and destroyed everything in its path. We were without power for the rest of the day, and just got it back on about six hours ago. I'm very happy that we, not only got our power back on, but also survived this. At least I didn't have to work. I doubt I would have anyway. Mostly all of West Chester lost power for almost a whole day. Some people go their power back on that night, but not us, or any of our neighbors. So I decided to read some stories by candlelight and fell asleep, hoping that when I woke up, the power would be back on.

But I've been watching the news on line to see what the damage was everywhere else. I don't know if anyone lost their lives, but many people lost their homes, their cars, their electricity and their tress. This is the type of weather we would see in August, not June, not even for July. Let's hope and pray that we never have to deal with another horrible storm like that. Till then, Ciao Bloggers.

Poem: KAI

Small hands,
small feet,
tiny eyes,
opened to a world,
new to him, but old to us,
my cousin should be proud,
she brought a small angel to our world,
small ears,
cute button nose,
heart that beats perfectly,
mouth,
so small,
yet I want to kiss him,
gently on his small head,
what is going to be of,
small Kai,
Scottish for fire,
known name in Hawaii,
but will always be a Strickland (Macelree) to me
born June 12th 2010,
welcome to our world,
little Kai,
I love you

What happened to good TV shows????

I don't mean to brag, but I will. I watched a lot of TV in my life, and now, I just want to throw my TV out the window. Why? Because of all the shows they have on now.

First off, what has happened to kid shows. For instance, when I was little I use to watch Rugrats, Fairly OddParents, Rocko's Modern life, Powerpuff girls, Courage the cowardly dog, Foster's home for imaginary friends, Ed Edd n Eddy, Johnny Bravo, Angry Beavers and also non cartoon shows such as
Secret life of Alex Mack, Are You Afraid of the Dark mostly kid shows. Even the Critic had it's great moments

But Now, you have these lame, lame, lame cartoons and kid shows now a days, and I have a feeling there will be more to come in the future.
First, you have this lame cartoon called Avatar the air bender, and now it's turning into a realistic movie. What the hell were they thinking? They even have this other cartoon called Fanboy and Chum Chum, I don't even wanna talk about that. They even have this show called True Jackson, VP. I think kids are starting to become more annoying. And I don't want to list anymore bad cartoon and kid shows.
But I don't really watch too much cartoons or TV anymore like I use to. There's even lamer shows now on prime time like: Gary Unmarried, Til Death, Accidentally on Purpose. Thank god those shows got canceled I mean if it weren't for great, great shows like: The Big Bang Theory, Glee, The Simpsons (OK maybe not The Simpsons, but they're not that bad), Hell's Kitchen, House, Top Chef... well nobody would be happy, even me.
Maybe I won't throw my TV out the window after all. But Rest In Peace all you great, great shows that have been put to rest, and hopefully, there will be better shows in the future (doubt it though)
