Cause Earl has to die

I saw this movie called "Waitress" written by the late Adrienne Shelly, about a waitress and her abusive husband named Earl.

Earl is a control freak. He won't let her ride in her own car, take any money or go to a pie baking competition.

So she decides to "get it on" with a doctor (played by Nathan Fillion) once in a while Earl doesn't know what's going on.
She tries running away, soon admitting she is pregnant.
Hiding money as best as she can, but soon he finds it and lies, whispering in her baby book how she got the crib and a camera.

If I were her, I would have the courage to step up to him, or kill him like that Dixie Chick song "Goodbye Earl" where it's about an abused woman.

Why are all abusive men named "Earl" it's seems like a cursed name to me. In the song a woman is abused by "Earl" and she and her friend decide to kill Earl.

Earl doesn't seem like a bad name, but to me, it's how the person was raised.

Image result for waitress movie In this movie, Earl would do anything to keep his wife at home making pies, or working.
Eventually, after having the baby she dumps him and wins the bake off.

The movie was dedicated to the writer Adrienne Shelly who was found dead but it was a homicide. Long story short, they found the person that did it.

I love the movie and it does show the side of a person that knows even if you are in an abusive relationship, it doesn't mean you don't have to stay in it.

Keri Russell did an amazing job as the lead and the late Andy Griffith was great as old Joe. I read that Keri Russell was pregnant at the time of the movie so she really did have the belly.

In the words of her character Jenna: "Dear Baby: I hope someday somebody wants to hold you for 20 minutes straight and that's all they do. They don't pull away. They don't look at your face. They don't try to kiss you. All they do is wrap you up in their arms and hold on tight, without an ounce of selfishness to it."

Bruce 67 years later

I saw Stephen Colbert show with Bruce Springsteen as his guest. Bruce is now 67, and still looks amazing.

It amazes me that now, he decided to come out with an autobiography titled: 'Born to run'  It explains most of his life. As an alter boy and being raised catholic and his inspiration to get into music from the Ed Sullivan Show when he was only seven years old. Listening to The Beatles perform and Elvis.

Living most of his life in Jersey with his mother and eventually making it big years later. Explaining to Stephen that he would write most of his life story and put it away and keep writing years later.

His father was estranged and very depressed. It seemed when Bruce's child was born, he and his father started talking again for a long time. Bruce would mention that his father was ill and a lot of the songs he would write were based on him.
Image result for Bruce Springsteen 2016When Stephen asked what his top five songs were, he said two of them were of course "Born to Run" and "Thunder Road"

One of my favorite songs from his "Better Days" I also loved "Philadelphia" which is based on the movie "Philadelphia" staring Tom Hanks.

Bruce's concerts that he performs would go on for over four to five hours, and that was his recent one in Philadelphia. He would also get some people up on stage and they would perform with him. Maybe that's why Courtney Cox danced with him when they were "Dancing in the Dark"

Image result for Bruce Springsteen book   Sadly a friend of his, Danny Federici, would pass away from Melanoma and his son would be a replacement in Bruce's East Street Band. Danny is in the Rock n Roll hall of fame and Bruce's Album: Working on a Dream was dedicated to him.

Bruce Springsteen has so many albums out and it has been an amazement how he does it. To Stephen Colbert putting it, musicians have a sort of gift, a special power if you will that makes them oblivious to not stop performing and making people happy.
Bruce is one of them, Bob Dylan is another.

Bruce is amazed how many years has gone by in in his life, and so have I. 67 and going strong. He's not going to stop. Till then, keep performing Bruce, we need you. Happy Birthday. Ciao for now Bloggers.

Pixar movies part 2

You've already known that my least favorite Pixar movie is the Incredibles and the best ever will always be Finding Nemo.

Now there are more Pixel movies than ever in the past years that have come.

From Monsters Universe to Inside Out, even Frozen.... A lot of them good, some of them, not.

I don't know if some of these movies are worth mentioning but it seems I'd like to talk about a few so I can explain where Pixar is today.

Image result for pixel movies today
First there is... Frozen. So popular because of that stupid song that wracks my brain, but it's not that bad. Two sisters trying to get a long after the death of their parents. One has snow powers or something like that. (Never really saw the movie) but everyone is talking about it as if it were a cult. A snowman who is like a comedian and well, let's just say there is some parts of the movie that is pretty funny and other just forgettable, but the songs will stay in your head forever.

Another would be...Brave. I've talked about it before so I'm not going to go into much detail. A princess who doesn't want to follow in the footsteps of her mother on needing to find a prince and wanting to go on adventures. Her mother soon turns into a bear and soon learns the real truth of a strong mother/daughter bond that is stronger than anything else. The voice casting was ok, the movie was fine, loved the location (taking place in Scotland) I would give it a C+

However, there are some negatives when it comes to a sequel known as.... Cars 2. Did we really need this as sequel. This was considered my lowest next to the Incredibles. It was one of the worst. It didn't even focus on the main character in the first movie, it focuses on...ugh! (Larry the Cable Guy's character) need I say more. It's also a spy movie, that's another kick in the head, and throw it down the garbage chute too.

Another forgetful one is... The good Dinosaur. It is not one of the best, Not great, but not as bad as Cars 2. Focusing on a theory on what would it be like if Dinosaurs and humans lived together, in other words, what if the comet never came hurdling towards earth? My opinion, movie not needed to see.

One more I want to mention. It's called...Zootopia. Where the world is run by animals. A rabbit befriends a fox and they have to find out what is going on in a town where all the animals are acting really strange. I thought it was pretty cute, not great. The music was amazing (thank you Shakira) and it's a movie I feel like I would see one more time, because it was good. I'd put it on my top ten maybe, or on eleven.

But the best, in my top five, not as best as Finding Nemo, has to be something that is now number five on my top five best Disney Pixar movie lists. I fell in love with it the first time I have seen it, and have thought to myself, ever since Finding Nemo, Pixar has got it right. They made something that has touched the heartstrings of a human being and know that we can be emotional and we can feel sad or happy or angry or scared.
   That movie is....
INSIDE OUT
Image result for pixar movie Inside Out   This had to be one of the best Pixar movies of the new generation. Great voice acting, great settings of emotions of one girl going from one state to another state and then losing Joy and Sadness in the process. Amy Polher does an amazing job voicing job, and they picked one hell of an actor, Lewis Black, to voice anger. It's up to Sadness and Joy to find their way back through this girl's mind and believe me, by the end of the movie, I was left crying, it just made me think, does everyone feel the same way this girl does. Do we always have a sadness, a joy, anger, fear, disgust.  Deep down, I think we do. And this is why this is one of my top five favorite Pixar movies. Not as great as Finding Nemo but it did beat out Zootopia and all the rest.

With Finding Nemo having a sequel, Finding Dory, I can't wait to see that. And other Pixar movies are getting sequels too like Toy Story (again), Incredibles 2 (skipping) and cars 3 (why)

Till then, enjoy all the Pixar movies you see and remember, there's always to be something to enjoy, no matter what age you are. Ciao for now bloggers!

America's got talent winners

Well another show has come and gone.

Grace VanderWall from Suffern, New York is the winner. When she came on stage for the first time...

    OMG!!!!!!!!!!
                 She blew us all away.

Just like a lot of other winners from the past, most of them seem to be singers. The first winner was from Philadelphia and her name was Biancca Ryan. She was amazing as well.

I wasn't really into the show until the second season when a ventriloquist performer named Terry Fator from Dallas. He was really funny. My family and I ended up seeing him when we went to Las Vegas. Then an opera singer one the next year and few years later.

I noticed it was becoming more like another version of American Idol. It had stars, but it seemed they were focusing more on singers and soon a really talented singer from West Virginia came aboard named Landau Eugene Murphy Jr. came along.

He, like Grace, was an amazement. I knew, from the start, he was going to win.

I was thinking of trying out for next season, to be a singer. and well, it wouldn't hurt. But sometimes, I wonder, if I did win, would I wanna spend the rest of my life in Vegas?
My mom wouldn't mind. But Everyone has a dream.

I want to talk about one more winner. His name is Mat Franco. He's a magician that was really amazing the year he won.
Image result for Mat Franco He just marveled the judges with his magic acts that he could reveal how he did it, but you know the rules.

This year there was one magician that I liked who was also an Eagles football player, but he came in third place. I think he did an amazing job. His name was Jon Dorenbos.
