Hurricanes named after Disney Princesses

This is a new one for all of us. There was Hurricane, no longer in action, was named Elsa. And, if you are a fan of Frozen, I'm not but it's not a horrible movie, there are two princesses Elsa and Anna. Is this going to be a new trend now?

There have been many interesting Hurricane names. Once they will be named after a male, then a female. And with Disney having more princesses than princes, will Ariel, Belle, or even Moana be another name for a Hurricane?

Ok, there might have been a Hurricane Ariel, but we don't know at the moment. Some hurricanes can end up being deadly. Like Katrina was when she powered New Orleans into a massive flood and wind.

Moana had a hurricane in the movie. I guess...Many hurricanes have their strengths. I remember one year we had a huge hurricane hit us in 1999, and another in 2004. In September of 1999, we had Hurricane Floyd hit us. I was only in 9th grade when that happened. I ended up getting sick.

Belle was a Hurricane as well. During the 1970's she hit through North Carolina all the way to the New England areas. I guess this isn't the first time a Disney Princess became a Hurricane. With Elsa being the recent, it's just interesting that's all.

Hurricane Anna was Hurricane as well, during the 70's and this year another Hurricane, named Ana, which ended up being just a Tropical Storm this year. It's amazing what names Hurricanes can be named after.

Cinderella never had a real hurricane name, unless you count Cindy. She was a Hurricane around the 70's that destroyed most of South Carolina.

Some names of Hurricanes can be interesting, Some can be named after heroes, some after unknown people. Other times, people will just come up with fake names or unknown names. It's strange, but sometimes even strange named Hurricanes can be deadly.

Wilma was a name of another Hurricane that hit in 2005 in October. Usually, Hurricane season would be close to dying by then, but this Hurricane was pretty strong. Mostly Hurricane names can be named after Cartoon Characters as well.

Now, I guess the next step, name some hurricanes after Disney Princesses. It has been done before, but with Elsa being the latest hurricane name, I guess we're starting to notice an interesting trend with Hurricane names. I wonder if there will be a Hurricane Mulan in the near future. Well, for now, we'll let it go.

Feeling hot- Poem

The summer heat is unbearable,

heat of hell as we know it,

August always the hottest month,

to some,

but for others,

the hotter the summer,

the colder our winter will be,

the cold foods,

melting in our hand,

the sun bearing down on our skin,

hot,

hot,

HOT

The temperature rises,

it's as if we are a desert,

needing water,

needing cold air,

needing relief,

feeling the burn on our skins,

no tanning for some,

while others,

crisp to a golden brown,

we feel cooked,

is that a mirage I see,

is the sun playing tricks with our mind,

the heat is getting to us,

where,

oh where,

is our relief

with heat this bad,

we need the cold,

to drink,

to breathe,

to feel the relief,

no heat can give us

Don't stare into the suns,

for our brains,

will fry,

like an egg,

on a hot sidewalk,

we need to be spared

find a way,

to beat the heat,

because,

one day,

we'll need to find a way,

to stay warm

Blues Clues today

Back in 2000, there was a show called Blues Clues. What was it about? Well, first off...it came out in early 2000's. A show about a cartoon dog and a human (played by a live action actor) solving clues for what Blue wants to do for the day.

It's a harmless show meant for preschoolers, and it has gone through a lot of  changes. First... the original.

The show started around early 2000's. With a guy named Steve. Played by Steve Burns. The reason why he would ask the kids to shout the answers when they find a blue paw print was...Steve was deaf in one ear.

There were interesting characters in Blues Clues. Such as a mailbox that gives the mail, a salt and pepper shaker that are married, a talking soap bar, and many other interesting characters I don't remember.

This show was made for preschoolers, but I kind of liked it. It was a harmless show that taught kids to share and be kind and other things I don't remember. LOL.

A new character came into the picture soon after. Steve was getting older and left the show to another kid named Joe. I don't remember the episodes very well. I guess he was similar to Steve, not too much.

I didn't watch too much of the Joe episodes. It would be a few more years since Blues Clues came back to our lives.

This one was different. Very different. But not in a bad way. In a cool way. All 3 dimensional. Sometimes, with cartoons changing into 3 dimensional, it can be good or bad. With Blues Clues, I think it's good. There is also a new kid named Josh.

Who is Josh? Well, he has replaced both Steve and Joe. He seems like a nice guy. Everything has changed. Their handy dandy notebook, which used too just be a regular notebook, also has a video can in it. Every character is still the same, I guess. Blue is 3d as well as her friends.

Joe and Steve have returned to the new Blue Clues and You. First in the pilot, and then in Blues Birthday Bash. I think. This new Blues Clues is actually pretty fun. They kept the tradition of kids shouting at the tv. I guess it's ok. I feel this show is not bad. Better than Barney, but against other shows, I doubt it comes close.

Best movie from the 90's (by year)

Being a 90's child, I can tell what movies are the best, and which ones are just ok. With this list, there are no horrible movies. Only movies that are worth seeing. Starting with 1990.

1990: Some movies back then were good like Ghost, Edward Scissorhands even Pretty Woman was pretty good. But there was one movie I fell in love with (well not really) but it got one child very famous.

Home Alone- Created by the late John Hughes, Home Alone is a story about a boy named Kevin (portrayed by Macully Culkin) ends up home alone when his family forgets him as they are headed to Paris for Christmas. Two bumbling crooks try to break in and he would do anything to protect the house. He even makes friends with a neighbor who has a tragic backstory. Heartwarming, loveable. This is the Home Alone to see.

Honorable mentions go to: Dances with Wolves, Kindergarten Cop, Misery and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

1991: This year, I moved to West Chester. This was thirty years ago. So these movies are turning thirty years old. OMG. Movies like JFK, Silence of the Lambs and even Barton Fink. But there is one movie that I fell in love with, and it's an animated Disney movie

Beauty and the Beast: Out of all the 90's Disney movies, this had to be one of my favorite (as well as Lion King) The songs were amazing, voice acting at the top. Having wonderful music as well as beautiful story. This movie was nominated for Best Picture. One of the first in animation to do that. It didn't win, but it was still a heartwarming story from beginning to end. I would skip the redone like action and go with this version. That is for sure

Honorable Mentions: Terminator 2: Judgement Day, JFK, Silence of the Lambs, Hook and the Addams Family

1992: Some movies were hits as others were not. With movies like Home Alone 2, Aladdin, and even Sister act, there was one movie that I thought was a lot better, and the songs were great.

The Bodyguard: I'm not a fan of Kevin Costner, but this movie was very good. A story about a woman who's being stocked. That woman is played by the late Whitney Houston and this movie is about her getting death threats by a stalker. She loses a friend, and gains a bodyguard to protect her as she performs. The song "I will always love you" is the most memorable song (even though it was sung by Linda Rondstat and Dolly Parton) her version might have been more iconic.

Honorable Mentions: Batman Returns, Wayne's World, Basic Instinct, Lethal Weapon 3, A few Good Men and Aladdin

1993: Feeling as if it were yesterday, you had movies like Sleepless in Seattle, Philadelphia, even Mrs. Doubtfire and Jurassic Park. But there was one film that changed the way we looked at cinema today. A movie that was in black and white and made many people cry.

Schindler's List: This movie is very heartbreaking and based on truth. A story about a man named Schindler (portrayed by Liam Neisan) who was trying to help the Jews escape to freedom. Taking place in the 1940's, concentration camps were around and Hitler was still in power, but this one man did all he could to save over 700 Jews. This movie is very sad, and yet we can never stop thanking Oskar Schindler for saving many lives.

Honorable Mentions: Jurassic Park, The Fugitive, Cliffhanger, Mrs. Doubtfire, Indecent Proposal and Pelican Reef

1994: Turning 10 that year, some movies were considered interesting, while others were ok. Movies like Speed, Dumb and Dumber, Lion King and even The Mask, there was another movie I actually thought was very good and won Tom Hanks an Oscar.

Forrest Gump: Based on a book written by Winston Groom, this story about a man with a tiny IQ as he waits for a bus. He decides to tell some people on the bench about his life story. Him serving in the Vietman War, finding out he was not the same, making friends, falling in love. It was really good. I would watch it from beginning to end and believe me, Tom Hanks was perfect for the role.

Honorable Mentions: Shawshank Redemption, Lion King, Pulp Fiction and even Hoop Dreams (whatever that is)

1995: Movies were getting better. Theaters were getting crowded with movies like Jumanji, Apollo 13, Waterworld and Die Hard with a vengeance. But this movie changed how we see Disney today. By giving us the first PIXAR movie.

Toy Story: A story about a cowboy toy named Woody (voiced by Tom Hanks) who is jealous over another toy, a spaceman named Buzz Lightyear (voiced by Tim Allen) Soon, crazy stuff happens that gets Buzz lost and Woody goes on an adventure finding him. With this movie, it's now banned since I would se it over and over again when I got sick. Don't blame me. It's still one amazing movie.

Honorable Mentions: Casper, GoldenEyes, Jumanji, Apollo 13, Leaving Las Vegas, Braveheart, Sense and Sensibility and The Usual Suspects

1996: Movies were starting to get more sequels as well as making them longer for the viewer. We had movies like live action 101 Dalmatians, Space Jam, The English Patient (Ugh), Fargo and even Independence Day. But for me, the film I'm choosing is for it's comedy not it's drama or action

The Birdcage: Not the most known movie, but it is funny and dramatic at the same time. The late Robin Williams plays a man who is gay. Finding out his son from a previous marriage is marrying a daughter of a senator who is the news for treason (or something else I forgot) Nathan Lane plays his gay lover and well...this movie is interesting. Couldn't find my true favorite in 96, but wait till next year.

Honorable Mentions: Independence Day, Mission: Impossible, Jerry McGuire, Twister, The Nutty Professor and Fargo

1997: I don't remember many movies in 1997; oh wait I do. There were movies back then like Air Force One, Liar Liar, Men in Black (that could have been 1998), As good as it gets and My Best Friends Wedding. But there is one movie that blew them all out of the water. (Literally Speaking)

Titanic: My favorite movie from 1997. Best Movie ever of the 90's. Won 11 Oscars, and what is it about? A rich woman and a poor man falling in love on the ill fated Titanic. Kate Winslet and Leonardo DeCaprio are known as huge starts, but they are now best of friends ever since this movie came out. I know all about how there were cast ideas for the lead roles, but having these two worked for the best and you can tell with all the awards they received. Best Movie Ever of 1997

1998: A good year with movies. Some like Armageddon, Lethal Weapon 4, Godzilla (that was more a failure) and even A Bugs life. But there was one movie that was really worth talking about.

The Big Lebowski: A Cohen Brothers movie with Jeff Bridges starring as "the dude" Lebowski. He is called The Dude to everyone. He loves to bowl with his friends (one of them cursing like a sailor) and Steve Buscemi. He gets confused with another Lebowski and ends up in a strange adventure that involves many people as well as Tara Reid faking a kidnapping. This movie is worth a watch.

Honorable Mentions: Mulan, Deep Impact, There's something about Mary, Dr. Dolittle, Shakespeare in love and Saving Private Ryan

1999: The end of the 90's before 2000 came to us. We had movies like The Matrix, Austin Powers; The Spy who shagged me, Fight Club and even Toy Story 2. But there is one movie that got people scared, even if they knew the twist ending

The Sixth Sense: "I see dead people" This movie started M. Night Schamalyn's career. This movie is about a young boy (played by Haley Joel Osment) who can see ghost. Only Bruce Willis could help conquer his fears. However, near the end, Bruce Willis finds out he too is a ghost. But they do help a family coping with a death of a young girl as well as getting Haley Joel Osment's character to not be afraid.

Honorable Mentions: Fight Club, The Green Mile, American Beauty, Boys Don't Cry, October Sky and even The Matrix

There are too many movies to name and some of them of are great while others fail. With me, these are the movies are worth the watch and my favorite is definitely Titanic. What's yours?

Real tears from the sky

We cry all the time,

for sadness,

for joy,

for our emotions,

but does the sky ever cry?

the sadness the sky gives us,

even though it's scientific,

I believe,

someone in the sky,

is crying,

our emotions show a lot,

when we're happy,

and sad,

even upset,

emotions in the sky are different

As sadness falls like teardrops of rain,

we don't feel pain,

but do we feel relieved?

The saltiness of our tears,

show emotions,

but in the sky,

no emotions are shown

Do we feel upset,

does it make us feel pain,

sadness,

anger,

fear,

emotions run wild,

in tears

Is the sky really crying,

or do our emotions show more,

when it rains,

and it pours,

how do we feel?

Do the real tears fall from

our face

or the sky

As the sky still cries,

we still wonder,

how to make the sun come,

the rainbow show,

and the sky dry,

it up to us,

to feel the pain,

Mother Nature,

gives to the sky

Least funny Simpsons, they're so bad

We all know the Simpsons have lost their charm. They aren't as funny as they used to be. But which episodes are considered the worst by fans standards? I've told you mine already. I guess this is by other fans. Why? Who know, but we all know The Simpsons aren't as watchable as they used to be.

Going from bad to worse, these are the top ten least funny episodes by the fans of the show. I could agree or disagree with them, but let's see which ones they are.

TOLERABLE, BUT NOT GREAT:

1. Kill Gil Vol I and II-  Considered a Christmas episode around season 18. Gil's considered a least favorite character. He's suicidal, depressed, and gets different jobs failing in him. This isn't my favorite either, but to fans...they despise it. Feeling they're giving Gil too much air time as he spends almost a year with the Simpsons after being fired from his job as Santa. For me, it's not one of my favorites, but god only knows how worse these episodes are going to become.

2.

2. Double, Double, Boy in trouble- Ever seen or read 'Prince and the Pauper?' Well, this is The Simpsons version. Why is this considered not good? Well, it's kind of predictable. Bart switches places with someone who is considered rich (also voiced by Nancy Cartwright). He soon realizes how amazing his normal life is. The rich boy is found out by Lisa while Bart finds out he's about to be poisoned by the rich boy's brother and sister. What do I think about this one? It's not Horrible, but it's ok. I guess fans felt different.

3.Homer vs. Dignity- Fans of the show thought that this episode could have done better. With this one, Homer becomes Mr. Burn's monkey. Doing things that make him laugh because Homer's low on cash. He soon realizes how low his dignity becomes when he makes love to a Panda. He draws the line on being greedy on Christmas. I don't care much for the episode, but what are you gonna do. There are worse ones than that.

NOT GREAT, BUT STILL BAD:

4. The Ten-Per-Cent Solution- Considered Joan Rivers final performance (voice wise), she portrays someone who helps Krusty with his finances. Feeling he has to change everything. Even making a 'Krusty the Clown' museum as well. He falls in love with her, no surprise. I don't remember much of it. I wasn't a fan, but it wasn't a horrible episode. Fans thought otherwise.

5. Bart of the Future- Some fans of this episode were surprised to find out a prediction did come true. So surprised, that they feared for their future. I was one of them of course. What was this episode about? Bart finds out how horrible his future would be if he didn't stop being lazy. Lisa becomes the first female president after Donald Trump Back then, that was just a harmless joke, but that really did happen. This episode didn't sit well with viewers, but it wasn't the worst I've seen.

JUST HORENDOUS:

6. Politically Inept, with Homer Simpson- Simpsons and Politics should never mix. And with this episode, it's proof. Homer becomes interested in speaking his mind. He soon becomes hated to some people. He soon gets supporters like Ted Nugent as well as Republican parties. I hated this episode, and I guess I wasn't the only one. It lowered viewership with this episode. In my opinion, I'd skip it. But there are worse to come

7. Kill the alligator and run- Homer starts having a crises and well... being in Florida during Spring Break was not a good idea. Homer goes crazy and ends up killing an alligator. All of them get arrested and well, they try to break out. Some fans thought this episode wasn't that funny. I'm with them. I found it to be boring. The same old 'Homer did something wrong' schtick. The voice acting from Kid Rock and Diedrich Bader were ok, but it's just a boring episode to most of the fans, as well as me.

8. The Squirt and the Whale- Some people did like this episode, but it was so depressing. A beached whale on the shores of Springfield Beach. Lisa does her hardest to keep it alive as Bart helps. It does die sadly, but it's just nature. I have read whales do try to kill themselves and it is sad. Why is this an episode worthy of this list? It's just pretty sad that's all. It got some positive points, but if you love creatures from the sea or land, it's sad to see them go this way.

Before I get to the final two, here are some Dis-honorable mentions that aren't the worst, but we can put them in the 'What were they thinking' Category.

- Alone again natra-diddly- This episode involves Ned losing Maude, and why? The voice actress Maggie Roswell left the show after contract issues and wanting more money. They killed off Maude Flanders, who she did voice. Maggie did come back, but Maude did not (unless she's a ghost) It was not great and fans did not think it was a good idea to get Ned more pissed off than he already was.

- The Boys of Bummer- Fans were not pleased with this episode either. I hated it and put it in my top ten worst. Bart gets blamed for missing a game winning catch in little league. He is booed at, thrown tomatoes and is considered a parish to the town to the point of where he almost kills himself. This episode is pretty harsh.

- That 90's show- What the hell were they thinking? Most fans were saying the same thing I was. They've done this whole 'going back to the past' kind of episodes. But it was amazing in the earlier seasons. Now they just feel forced. Making Homer feel like Kurt Cobain. Marge a writer or something. I skipped this episode mostly. It's just awful, and I'm not the only one that agrees.

- Little Big Girl- I kind of felt the plot was lacking. Bart falls in love for a girl, only not knowing she's pregnant. Oops. Fans thought, even if the voice acting from Natalie Portman was ok, it was still considered Garbage. This was indeed a Bart episode.

- The Musk who fell to the Earth- Sigh! This episode was so boring, that many viewers just tuned out. Elon Musk is a nice person, but around the time this episode was made, he was everywhere. He isn't a bad person, it's just putting him in an episode, you need to expect something to happen. But nothing happened. He helps Homer out....that's it.

WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT:

9.The Principal and the Pauper- This is when The Simpsons went down hill. This episode did it. They jumped the shark in the 9th season with this episode. I just was pissed, and I think a lot of other viewers were too. It's just...Martin Sheen is an ok actor, but having him voice the real Principal Skinner, and having Skinner be an imposter....well this is just stupid. Many fans hated this episode, and I don't blame them.

10. Lisa Goes Gaga- The Lowest rated Simpson episode ever is also the worst. I love Lady Gaga and I still do, but this is a low. Well...she's doing better for herself. But I feel this episode was very weak. Focusing on Lisa being unpopular, she's made fun of. Lady Gaga wants to help her, but Lisa has no desire for wanting help. Lady Gaga does everything she can to help her out. I kind of feel sorry for Lady Gaga. Lisa's just being mean. She soon accepts and well....this episode was pretty stupid.

This show has been on the air for about 34 years by now. I know they have lost their way. They weren't the same and these episodes are the reasons why. I don't hate them, but I hate what is happening to the show. I'm not the only one that thinks that. I feel it's time to put the show to bed, and give the voice actors a better life, but still happy for them for making over a billion dollars. So...maybe it's just best to end, but then again, they still are funny.
