20th Anniversary: Backstreet Boys

Stating when I was in early high school (maybe seventh grade) 1997: Nick, Howie, Brian, AJ and Kevin started a band called "The Backstreet Boys"

They're debut song: "We got it going on" was hitting the charts, but their first music video was: "Quit playing games with my heart!"

"As long as you love me" and even "Everybody (Backstreet's back) that felt more like a Halloween music video to me was pretty good.

Soon, there was another album called Millennium that came out in 1999 which symbolized the start the new year and also with hits like:
"Larger than life," "I want it that way" and even "The One"

A few years later, They released another album. My favorite one actually, Black and Blue with hits like:
"Shape of my heart" and "More than that" with "The Call" it was a very interesting one. They said "While doing the song, one of them (Howie) passed gas during the song but you can't really hear it on the album. LOL
BackstreetBoys-Black&Blue.jpg  Never Gone was another album that came out in 2005 and after that, they went their separate ways for a while, or only Kevin did. He took a break and the other four tried to have a solo career for a while.

I'm still a fan of them today as I was when I was a teenager. They still have cruises where they preform and we even get a chance of a new album in the future. Howie, Nick and AJ are doing fine as well, however Nick just lost his father and AJ and Howie, I guess they're doing fine.

BTW: They're recent album "in a world like this" came out in 2013

The life of Jerry Lewis

He made us laugh, he made us cry.... He was an amazing man.
Image result for jerry lewis Jerry Lewis passed away at the age of 91 and we will miss him, but not many people knew about his life. He did an exdroinary amount of work with movies staring Dean Martin before going solo.
Image result for jerry lewis I remember him in such works like "Cinderfella", "The Nutty Professor" "Don't Give up the Ship" he was a cameo in "It's a mad, mad, mad, mad world" and appeared in "Hook, line and sinker", "The Red Skelton show" and much more.

He even had a telethon for MDA that he would be a part of the telethon until in August of 2011 when he said he would no longer be able to host.

He lost his son, Joseph, to drug overdose. Another son, Gary, is a musician and has a band called "The Playboys"

His buddy, Dean Martin, were considered good friends but they never got along, they would argue and even fight once in a while, and that would cause Jerry to break up the duo. To Dean, Jerry was nothing but a f**king dollar sign to him, when they made films together. Their final film was Hollywood or Bust.

Dean died of cancer at the age of 78 in 1995, leaving Jerry heartbroken and without a friend.

I always found Jerry to be funnier than Dean Martin, but than again, I didn't know Dean that well.

We've lost so many this year. Jerry was sick and lived a great life, Hopefully he will spread happiness and meet his buddy again at the purely gates. RIP JERRY LEWIS Hollywood and many fans will miss you.

Back to school ads

Image result for back to school ads vintage           It seems back in the old days, like the 1950's to 1970's, they would show old magazine and Television ads depicting children in school uniforms, smiling and parents waving their kids goodbye as they walk off to school.

It IS NOT LIKE THAT ANYMORE!

After the forth of July is over: it seems back to school ads are EVERYWHERE!
Newspapers, magazine ads TV... just anywhere. And that's in July.

I've seen mothers go BS crazy on the day of the first day of school. Pushing their kids on the bus with smiles on their faces, jumping for joy, cocktail in one hand.

But with my family, it was so different. My dad worked and my mom was a teacher so she was the polar opposite of all the parents that were happy their kids were going to school on the first day.

Some ads in the 90s were funny, showing parents being excited as they got their kids staplers, notepads, backpacks, and eventually forgetting it all as they left it on the roof of the car. Another being a dad at Staples having the song be "the most wonderful time of the year" as his kids stare blankly at him.

Now I feel they focus more on the kids, as they just dance, showing off clothes that look horrible. And they have kids singing horribly to really good eighties songs.

And also the memes of parents being excited of kids going back to school are at no end.

We can't change the future. But we know the past was better, well to me it was.

Till then, enjoy the entertainment we get, and know that when we have kids, we too will feel the pressure of wanting to kick them out of the house, and yet smile as they walk off into the sunrise and on the bus on their first day of school.
