Betty White- A National Treasure

A woman that is older than sliced bread. A young woman who is considered a national treasure. A woman who just turned 99. Betty White is that person.

Born on January 17th, 1922, Betty Marion White Lennon didn't begin her tv career until the late 1930's. She starred in an experimental television show called "the merry widow" But WWII broke out and she put her career on hold to help the soldiers by volunteering

Betty White got her own tv show, which was more a talk show and a prime time show. Sadly, both short lived. Betty White would host and star in. Not knowing much about the show, she said that it would be the start of her TV career

She also was a guest panelist on a game show called "Password" where she met her future husband, Allen Ludden. Her biggest regret in the three times she had been married is that she never had kids. She loved Allen even loved taking to Allen when they were on Password. Her tv career blossomed more after the show ended

In the 1970's she stared as Sue Ann Nievens on the Mary Tyler Moore show. I never could get in to this one, but it starred her as well as Ed Asner, Cloris Lachman and Mary Tyler Moore. The show would focus on Mary Tyler's character.

I've talked about this show before, so I'll keep it short. Betty White was on this show from 1985 to 1992 and played the dimwitted Rose Nylan who would talk about her home non stop. She also would get angry at the other three when she gets upset. She was the oldest Golden Girl and is now the only surviving golden girl as well

After golden girls ended, a short lived show called the Golden Palace was created. I don't remember this one, but Bea Arthur had no desire to be on the show. Betty White played Rose again and this took place, I guess in Atlanta??? I forget. It only lasted one to two seasons and was canceled because of low ratings

In the 2000's, after golden palace ended, she decided to star in the Soap Opera the bold and the beautiful. I never was big on soap operas, but it seemed Betty White was in a few episodes.

In 2010, a Snicker's commercial came out showing Betty White is still vigor in her old age. She isn't slowing down anytime soon. She soon became the oldest host of SNL. I watched it and loved it. She was funny in every skit.

When Toy Story 4 came out, she voiced what appeared to be a teething ring named Bitey White. LOL The movie was really good. I enjoyed it. She also was in another show called Hot in Cleveland. I don't remember the show that well, but it seemed Betty White was the funniest character on the show. She would make everyone crack up in the bloopers.

Now, at the age of 99, she isn't doing much acting because of the pandemic. She is spending it staying safe and surround by animals which she had done her whole life. It seemed she is an avicate for animals. She even has two ducks that visit her. We want Betty White to stay with us till she's 100. We wish the best for this amazing woman.

Betty White, a comedian, an actress, an animal lover and a national treasure for all of us to enjoy

Thank You, Nurses- poem

We're all looking for answers,

they are there to find them,

we are happy for them,

to know them,

to thank them,

Working day and night,

long hours,

suffering from the sadness,

the madness,

the stress,

just to find answers,

to keep us safe,

and sure,

that we will make it through,

this tough roadblock,

it's sad that this has happened,

for we are glad for heroes,

like nurses,

doctors,

and many others

Everyone is stressed,

everyone is emotional

but these doctors and nurses try to stay tough,

stay strong,

go through sadness,

every single day,

If one patient dies,

they move on to another,

they have been stressed since COVID,

and they need us,

as much,

as we need them

And we thank them everyday,

ever since,

2020,

We know they us to stay safe,

healthy,

and happy,

and we need them,

to do the same

And I thank everyone of you,

from my own aunt,

a friend of my mom's,

both nurses,

that are there,

Chocolate Milk Brands

Ever heard of the phrase got milk? What about got chocolate milk? A lot of people love it. Even if it is a different color, kids will go crazy for it. Even kids at heart like me. But what is the best brand, and where did it come from?

Nestle Quik or NesQuik as it's called now started in the 1940's. With two mascots. One we know today as the NesQuik bunny, but there was another before us. Named: Quickster. It was half dog, half chicken. I'm not sure what it was. Nestle Quik was considered a chocolate drink that would get kids energized for a big game, or was used to promote Nestle Chocolate. What do I think about it? Well...I used the NesQuik powder for chocolate milk. It was ok, but got gritty mostly, and when I stirred it, it didn't really help

I guess this new Chocolate drink brand is new. It's called TruMoo. A chocolate milk brand that had been created, I guess, a couple of years ago. They have commercials that show kids that chocolate milk can be healthy as well as fun. They even have strawberry, orange cream, and mint flavors. I guess this is ok. Never had it before.

Borden Dairy products have their own flavor. Chocolate being one of them. In the 1850's, Mr. Borden (no first name known) created the Borden milk company. It also supplies dairy products. They even use a cow as it's mascot. They used a real cow, named Daisy, a long time ago. The cow was killed in a road accident. I don't think they use actual cows anymore after that. Never tried Borden milk before.

A brand new milk brand that said it is better than any other. Started seven years ago, fairl!fe says that they have a mission (not from god), but to make the world better one milk at a time. They don't use any hormones or animal by products, but they do try to make their milk tasty. They even have other flavors besides chocolate. Never had this brand.

We all know Hershey by heart. There chocolate is known y many people. They make their own chocolate milk mix since the 70's.They went from powder to syrup. Now, they make their own milk flavors. Chocolate being number one. For me, I grew up on this and still use the Hershey's syrup to flavor my milk. Still do today Never tried the chocolate milk singles though.

Horizon organic makes more than just milk, and flavored milk. They make butter and cheese and many more dairy products. This product, just like Fairl!fe, keeps a promise to keep everyone of their product organic. This company started in the early 90's and is still going strong today. I never tried Horizon milk, but it seems their milk is pretty popular to fans that into organic foods.

Yoo-hoo- a sound you would make and a chocolate drink to enjoy. This company started in the 1920's but wasn't really popular till the 1940's when bottling drinks was popular. In the sixties and seventies, they started making commercials. But there is something different with yoo-hoo than any other chocolate milk drink. It was mostly made with water combined with chocolate. They started adding small amounts of milk in their drinks, only it was dry powdered milk. So, is this drink really considered chocolate milk? I don't drink it, so I don't care.

When it comes to chocolate milk, everyone has their own favorite. Whether it be a chocolate bunny, a yoo-hoo or Hershey, we all know which one to love. For me....it's Hershey, and well, some chocolate milks are being changed in flavor to help the lactose intolerant. Almond milk has made a chocolate version of their milk.

Kids love the drink, adults love the drink. It seems chocolate milk is here to stay. We'll always remember our first taste, and it stays with us forever.

Annie vs Annie poem

Everyone knows about a red head named Annie who was an orphan most of her life. Let's talk about this orphan before we talk about the movies.

The old comic strip was created the same person who gave Little Orphan Annie life. Harold Gray created Little Orphan Annie in the 1880's But how did it become a movie? Well, it was a musical first.

In the 1970's, it started out as a musical letting different little girls become the precocious red head everyone loved. A little girl who was poor, had no family, worked with other girls, and would later have her life changed forever.

Daddy Warbucks adopted her and let's just say, they fell in love. But I wanna talk about the movie versions. They made more than just one. They made, I think, three.

Two years before I was born, in 1982, they came up with Annie. Starring Carol Burnett as an awful orphanage owner Miss Hannigan, the late Albert Finny as Daddy Warbucks and a newcomer named Aileen Quinn starring Annie. Only at the age of eleven, Aileen auditioned with many other girls, and got the role. Having to dye her hair red to stay as Annie

There were many other characters in the movie, mostly some of the orphan girls, a butler for Daddy Warbucks as well as a female friend, who I think was his wife I'm not sure. The actors were actually not bad. They all did a wonderful job and well...I thought this movie was hit and miss to me

After all, this movie is a musical and I'm look warm about them. Some musicals are ok, but I just well...the songs were hit and miss. They irritated me at times, and the story was ok. Now all the actors, mostly the kid ones, are grown up, and some are dead or no longer acting. I think this was ok.

The 1999 version was underrated. Had great actors like Victor Gambor as Daddy Warbucks and Kathy Bates as mean old Miss Hannigan, but I don't remember this one at all.

I mean, the story was similar to the 1982 version. Had some singing and dancing, but it wasn't memorable. The acting was ok and well...I don't think I ever saw it, but it seemed harmless and everybody knows Kathy Bates is really good at being evil. But there is another one that is far worse than this. For me, I would give this a chance, if I ever saw it.

Oh my god. In 2014, Hollywood had the bright idea to make a remake of the 1982/1999 movie of Annie. Having an African American Annie, and Jamie Foxx play  Daddy Warbucks. I'm all for that but, this movie WAS HORRIBLE!

I felt Hollywood lost all their creative ideas and decide to remake this.

Besides, Annie used to be a little red head. I'm fine with them changing the diversity, but this is just awful. First off Jamie Foxx is an amazing talent. He's a great singer, a great actor, and have him star in this...oh god. I don't know many of the other actors in this movie. But having Cameron Diaz play miss Hannigan, I'm sorry but I'm gonna stick to Carol Burnett. At least she had talent.

I just felt this was the wrong move for Annie. The actress playing Annie is ok, but I feel sorry for her being in this. She does have talent, but this was not the movie for her. It wasn't the movie for anyone. It didn't need to be made. Stick to the original or the musicals, this would give you a nightmare

Each actress is different I know that. These three girls playing Annie, they're all good. They have now gown out of the little orphan child and went on to different things. The original actress of Annie wants to follow in Shirley Temple's path and go into politics. I think it's best to stick to the original. If you like remake, that's good, but I'm not one of those people.

Little Orphan Annie will always be known as that sweet orphan looking for a home, and finding happiness. I think the original musical movie was good, never saw the remakes, and I think the original is going to be memorable.

A world in a different view- POEM

It's a new year

but why does it feel the same

how do other people look at the world

what it has become

Some people view the world differently,

a year has gone by,

which changed everyone's views,

a darker world they think

The world was different,

and not by view,

but by the way it was made,

people thought different of the world

Some thought the world was flat,

and others saw it round,

one was right,

as the other,

wrong,

and others thought differently

Others thought the sun revolved around the earth,

and we knew it didn't

Back in the old days,

some were proven wrong

Everyone is different,

and they are still themselves,

even if they view a world in a different way,

they believe in different things,

within themselves,

or religion,

and their views on how the world is

Last year was not the best,

people looked at the world differently,

and now,

with a pandemic,

a new president,

how will others view the world now?

I view that it might get better,

but we just have to wait and see
