Leap year birthdays

With the end of February happening, it seems there is one day that is forgotten, but comes every four years. For that, we look at the birthday of those certain few who have a birthday on the 29th of February.

If these few have a birthday on that day, they would only celebrate it either on the 28th, or the first of March. However, every four years, the leap year comes, and they have an actual birthday. Does it mean their age is slightly differ? I think not. Here are the few people that have a February 29th birthday.

Dennis Farina was known for movies like Thief, Midnight Run, Big Trouble and hosted Unsolved Mysteries when Robert Stack died. He was known for playing tough guys, baddies and he was one who had a birthday on the 29th of Feb. No longer with us. He was one star that will always wait for his birthday.

Known for his rapping and acting Ja Rule, real name Jeffrey Bruce Atkins, was known for being in Fast and the Furious Franchise as well as his songs, which I don't remember many of. His movie hits varied from drama to horror to even stupid movies like Scary Movie 3. His birthday is the leap year birthday.

Known for his modeling, as well as his acting, Antonio Sabato Jr. was born on the 29th of February. He is known for tv shows mostly like Ally McBeal, Joey, General Hospital and he modeled for a Janet Jackson music video back in the 90's

Joss Ackland was another leap year birthday. I would remember him in the mighty ducks movie (before they became a crappy animated cartoon.) He even starred in a few hit movies as well as acted in plays. He even portrayed a villain in a Bill and Ted Bogus Journey movie which...was ok. He is still alive, but he has retired from acting.

An actor, also born on February 29th, was Alex Rocco. I remember more as Moe Green from The Godfather. His character ends up getting killed in the end from a bullet to the eye. He has also been in some movies, and he had done some voice acting over the years. He did Cannonball run II, Dudley Do-Right, that thing you do and much more. Sadly, he died of pancreatic cancer.

Well, whoever has a birthday on that day...happy birthday today and tomorrow since we are not on a leap year this year. There are other actors with that birthday, but I don't know them that well to mention their names. My cousin's third son was very close to being a leap year baby, but he was born on the 1st of March instead. Happy not leap year.

The many years of Price is Right

If you ever heard of the phrase, "COME ON DOWN!" Then you know what show I'm taking about. Already fifty years old (no joke) The Price is Right, was part of American History. But how did it get its start? What is this show about?  Why is it so goddamn popular?

Back in September 1972, The Price is Right began its debut with host Bob Barker and Johnny Olsen. Years went by as different announcers moved on. Bob Barker stayed host for over 35 years. He announced his retirement in 2007 and many people were wondering who would replace him? There were many options from Rosie O'Donnell to.... well, I totally forgot. But they settled with comedian Drew Carey

Drew Carey was no Bob Barker, but he did pretty well hosting. Some people were concerned if Drew would destroy the reputation of the Price is Right. He didn't. He made it just as fun to watch as it was when Bob hosted. I grew up watching this show since I was in middle, maybe high school. It was entertaining and there were a lot of memorable moments.

Contestants had to guess prizes in order to win games. There were interesting pricing games like one wrong price where contestants had to guess which price was wrong to win the three prices. Bonus game where you had to pick four prices and see where the bonus is to win a trip or a new car.

The most memorable game ever in this show is Plinko. Plinko is where you collect chips to get over 20,000 dollars and maybe have a chance to win over 100,000 dollars. It is the most popular game in this show. There were others that are popular as well, but you win prizes like a new car, a trip and money. If I was on a show like that, I would go for a game where you would money. Not a car.

The best thing a contestant would win would be a very expensive car. Sometimes they would win it. Other times, they wouldn't. It seems everyone wants to win a new car. One time, during a special car edition episode, the most expensive car was shown and was worth over half a million dollars. No Joke

The models are important on the show too. However, there were scandals on a few of them during the 90's. Bob Barker would call them Barker's Beauties. After his retirement, some of the female models stayed, and years went by when new models came in. Soon, recently actually, they have placed some male models on the show to make it equal for both men and women to model for the show on stage. Some of them were memorable and others...well, you had to read what happened to them.

There were some contestants were caught cheating. Some had scandals. One of the most memorable was one contestant who went all the way to final bidding for prices on a car or a trip, or whatever. This one man bid twenty-three thousand seven hundred forty-three dollars. The bid was exact. Drew was shocked as well as the other contestants. It seems, after that they had to change everything on the Price is Right. The contestant never watched the show again. Or is dead.

Some contestants will go out of their way to propose to someone on Price is Right. There have been many before and are still happening today. I haven't seen any recently, but it seems excite everyone in the audience to everyone watching on TV.

Another exciting thing that happens on the show is in the final showcase, they win both showcases. It seems the contestant has to bid $250 dollars or less to win both prices. Sometimes, like in the case of that one man, they might get the price right on the dot. It is fun to see someone win both showcases.

Already fifty-one years later, this show has remained the most watched game show on tv. Going through many contestants, excitement and even double show case wins. There isn't another show like it. All you have to know if the Price is Right.

Pisces: Who is a Pisces?

The Astrology signs are known to many as some choose to believe in Astrology, while others choose to believe it is the tool of the devil.

To me, I've studied Astrology when I was in middle school. To me, people born under the Pisces sign, the 12th symbol of the house, they seem to be calm and normal people. Some of them can be a little temperamental.

So... who are some famous people born on Pisces? There are many. I am not one of them, but there are a few in my family that are. My mother being one of them. Her birthday is on the 3rd of March. Having a birthday, a day after Dr. Seuss and Bon Jovi.

Famous comedian and dramatic actor Bryan Cranston was born on March 7th. He was known for Malcolm in the Middle, but it seems he has been in dramatic rolls recently. Whatever roll he plays, he is really good capturing the character in each of his performances. He started out in Seinfeld at Elaine's on and off boyfriend as well as Jerry's Dentist.

German born scientist Albert Einstein was born on the 14th of March in the year 1879. Even if he is no longer with us, his studies to his past genius experiments are known today. Even if his birthday was also considered Pi Day, Albert will aways be known for his theory of relativity as well as many others. E=Mc2 was another brilliant formula.

Bon Jovi, known more as Jon Bon Jovi, was known as an amazing singer born on the 2nd day of March. His hit singles include: "You give love a bad name," "Wanted dead or alive", "Never say Goodbye", "Lost highway," and many more great hits. Going now into solo artists, he has made thousands of hits. He has even starred in tv and movies as well.

William H. Macy is another actor born under the Pisces sign. Born on March 13th, William H. Macy was known for movies like Fargo, Happy, Texas, Mystery men and many more. He also was known in ER, his guest appearances in Law & Order as well as voice over work. He is still acting today, but we now know when his birthday is.

Die Hard actor, Bruce Willis, has a birthday near the end of the Pisces sign. March 19th. He is known for not only Die Hard, but his comedies as well as dramas. He also starred in Pulp Fiction, Ocean's 11, Unbreakable, Perfect Stranger and many more. He even has a family daughter named Rumer who is now considered a beloved actor too. Sadly, Bruce Willis can no longer act because he suffers from Frontotemporal Dementia. Which means his acting days have come to an end, but we'll never forget how entertaining he was.

Double 007 is also a Pisces. Ok, Daniel Craig is, with his birthday being the second of March. The same day as Dr. Seuss. Daniel Craig started acting in movie roles since he was a teenager. But when he became an adult, his roles seemed to mature. Starring in movies like Munich, The golden compass, Knives Out (as well as the sequel Glass Onion). Even if he is soon retiring James Bond role to another actor, he's still decided to act in different roles.

Famous actor and Film Maker, Rob Lowe, was born on St. Patrick's Day. He is known for not only being gorgeous even while aging, but he was also known for other things in his past that wished he had forgotten. Like a certain Sex tape back in 1988. He also was part of the popular brat pack that was famous in the 80s. Being in movies like St. Elmo's Fire, Tommy Boy, Wayne's World, Austin Powers sequels and much more. Now he's doing ads for Atkins diet. No wonder why he still looks good for his age.

My childhood was all about reading books written by Dr. Seuss who was born on March 2nd. Dying when I was six years old from cancer, Dr. Seuss was really known as Theodor Gisel. His books made my childhood happy. Like "Green Eggs and Ham", "Cat in the Hat", "Horton Hears a Who" and my favorite... "The Lorax". It seems the film media decides that it would be good to profit off his stories and make movies out of them. They are HORRIBLE! (With the exception of Horton Hears a who) I think, no I know, Seuss has been rolling in his grave ever since.

There are many other famous Pisces like: Shaquile O'Neil, Carrie Underwood, Drew Barrymore, Rihannah, Camila Cabelo, Rebel Wilson, Wanda Sykes, Glenn Close, Mr. Rogers and even Donald Duck (that is true). For me, the most famous Pisces is my own mother (as well as my cousin's kid)

Your traits of your own Astrological sign will show every year you age, but being your true self will bring out the good in your and your sign.

Happy Valentine's Day-poem

A day where...

hearts are everywhere,

on pizza,

cards,

chocolate candies,

and much more

Love is strong,

especially today,

where love conquers,

any relationship,

other times,

it's just a day,

to show someone,

you care

Flowers,

Candies,

Champagne,

Romantic dinners,

and moonlight kisses

Some people treat Valentine's Day,

as if it was a holiday,

to celebrate,

Pink,

Red,

White,

the colors of the Valentine season,

How people go their way,

to make desserts,

in shapes of hearts,

like they are showing,

their passion,

to one another

Movies and TV shows,

that create,

a romantic experience,

with two people,

who show their love,

for one another

Every fourteenth,

of February,

we take time,

to care,

and show our love,

as much as we do,

today,

and every day,

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY EVERYONE

Is "Velma" worth the watch?

There are so many versions of Scooby Doo. Some good, some...unwatchable; but recently there has been one 'Scooby Doo' show that not only has no Scooby Doo in it but has gotten a lot of hate for it. The show is called "Velma."

Velma Dinkley is considered the nerd of the group. The one who always has been known to solve the mystery while the others are just there to help or be known as pawns to her. This version of Velma is gory, full of death and well...pretty rotche. I mean...the characters are different by not only character design, but voice as well.

I haven't seen one episode, and I don't attend to watch at all. I guess seeing too much change from one person's ideas can either make or break a show. Mindy Kaling was known for her characters in "The Office", "Inside Out", and she created a show called "Never have I ever" was also a Mindy Kaling project which I enjoy on NETFLIX. Does it mean she's losing her touch?

There are different versions of Velma throughout the run of Scooby Doo. Some ok, others...not great. But what some haters don't realize the reason Scooby is not in this version is because it's more about the gang became one and it mostly focuses on Velma's life.

With different voice actors portraying different Velma's, some are good, and others are just not the voices we needed. The original from the 1969 version was voiced by Nicole Jaffe. The recent one (before Mindy) is voiced by Kate Miccunci. Who do I like more? Well, being a fan, there are some that are more memorable than others.

For me, I like Kate's voice. I grew up listening to her before and she is pretty talented.

The other characters in this new series are hit and miss. I guess just because they are not like the original characters of Scooby Doo. That's because they are teenage versions of themselves. Daphne is a bitch, Fred is a rich snob (the plus side is the original voice actor of Fred, Frank Welker, is voicing Fred's father) and Shaggy, who is really called Norville in this show, is...different.

In a recent Scooby Doo movie, they revealed Velma to be a lesbian. In my opinion, with her hooking up with Shaggy, she might be bi-sexual. Who knows. In the Velma version, I don't know who she's hooking up with. With the recent LGTBQ+ community, they decided to make Daphne's parents both mothers. Happily, they are voiced by actual gay actresses.

More violence, drama, partial nudity, this show is not what fans were looking for. But I feel every version of Scooby Doo is different. Different universe, different stories, different voice actors, so... what's with all the hate in this one?

In my opinion, I don't think this is a promising series. It's starting to lose its audience to gain a younger clientele. I'm aware that is different and gorier, but I feel like they're going backwards. I feel they did the same thing with the Scoob movie. That movie not only had different voice actors, but the story seemed wooden as well as...confusing. That might just be my opinion.

So....is Velma worth the watch? Well, yes and no. Yes, because it takes something different and makes it its own. Sure, it might be gory and a little adult, but it shows it's trying out something new. I guess I'm not one of the fans that will watch, but I don't know why it's getting a lot of hate. Maybe it's just...Scooby Doo, with or without him, might need to show its end before it's too late.

Why?- Poem

Why do we ask questions,

that we might never get answers for,

we do we feel the need,

the thirst,

for wanting,

something important

are we sad,

do we need some answers,

wisdom,

knowledge,

wanting to find out,

why,

we are,

always questioning,

life

There are many answers,

to why:

why life is short,

why we were put on earth,

why do we get up,

at the crack of dawn,

are we safe,

why

we ask many questions,

who,

what,

where,

and when,

by why does 'why',

feel powerful

everyone asks questions,

but why,

everyone wants to be safe,

why and how,

some questions can be answered easily,

while others,

give us none,

why is that?

we all ask questions,

each and every day,

but it feels,

as if,

some

are left,

unknown,

why is that?

 we all want to know,

why we ask questions,

but it's best,

to find out that answer,

on your own

Sometimes we want answers,

why is that,

do we just,

want to know,

or is it,

in our own

biology

Why,

no one knows why,

I don't know why,

do you?
