Yes it's true. Mostly every show now is getting rebooted. From Animaniacs to Beverly Hills 90210....it seems every show is getting rebooted.
What do I think about it.....WHY!!!!
I've blogged about TV show reboots before, so I will make this short. Explaining what shows are indeed getting rebooted and how I feel about it.
BLUES CLUES- Yep, they're bringing back Blues Clues. I have no idea why, but it seems it's for a new audience. When I was young, well twelve maybe, Blues Clues started with Steve. Now Blues Clues looks digitally animated, and they have a new guy taking over. For me, I'm ok with it. I don't watch Blue's Clues anyway, yet some people think they are damaging to not change Blues Clues. I do miss the original host, but maybe this guy will be good.
RUGRATS- Please tell me this is not happening. FOR THE LOVE OF GOD. They are making them look 3 dimensional???? First off, we already have too many Rugrats to worry about. The early episodes, the classic Rugrats were always the best! And now...I don't know what to say. They've changed voice actors many times and now they're making them look as if they look horrendous….I'll stick to the classics.
ROCKO'S MODERN LIFE- This might be different. It's just a special not a full blown new episodes. It's about Rock and his friends learning about the future and how cell phones as well as new things are the new norm. Rocko feels that the future is very dangerous. I don't think it's coming out for a while. They are still keeping the same voice actors but...will it be like the show?? I don't know.
ALF- I've read rumors about this coming back. But how? In movie form, and how will it be fresh for the new viewers? I've seen this show before, and he would make puns that involved the 80's. I pray to god he won't do Trump jokes. I don't think I'll see it, I always found this guy somewhat annoying.
ALL THAT- I'm both hit and miss with this one. They are bringing back some of the old cast members, but the newcomers are not that good. I've seen clips and they're either trying too hard, or just suck. Thank god they're keeping the original theme song for the show, as well as some of the skits. I don't know if I'll see it. I think in my opinion, it might not work.
CRANK YANKERS- Jimmy Kimmel is bringing this show back from beyond the grave. I used to think this was funny. I loved all the comedic crank calls they would make. Even having celebrity guest voices become the puppets, using actual call to businesses and well...sometimes it can get a little crude. This time, I don't know what they're going to do.
ARE YOU AFRAID OF THE DARK- From one SNICK hit to another, Are you afraid of the dark is coming back in October for a new audience. I loved the original, but how are they going to create new haunting stories to scare little children. Are the Jonas brothers going to be in an episode? Will Miranda Cosgrove? If they could have Ryan Gosling in one of the earlier episodes, why not another hit star?? I'll give it a chance.
There will a lot coming in and some, I'm concerned with. Sometimes renewing something isn't a good thing. Bring John Cena to host "are you smarter than a 5th grader" could work, but then again, it's only TV
