Are people just forgetting Black history month???

This year is going by way too fast..... and with so many celebrities boycotting the Oscars this year, are many people also boycotting black history month as well??

Maybe not, maybe so but it feels that some people are forgetting that February is after all black history month.

Long time ago, it wasn't even taught in schools but because of trail blazers like Rosa Parks, Harriet Tubman, Malcom X and even Martin Luther King Jr. there are so many famous African Americans that have done the world an amazement. Even giving us our first African American President Barack Obama.

But now I feel we are losing touch with what Black History has meant to us.
Image result for black history month 2016 When I was young, February was mostly focused on one thing Black History and now it just feels as if we are forgetting all the great African Americans that did all the great inventions, moments in history and bravery that all they done for us.

I guess with what has been happening with this Oscar Boycotting, maybe had something to do with it. Not one African American was nominated this year for best actor or best actress and a lot of African American actors, actresses and even directors are not going to participate on the biggest night in movie history. Although It is ironic that there is a black guy hosting this year, but that has noting to do with it.

I do feel so sorry deep down for all of them. In the heavens, I feel that all the great African Americans that have passed on, looking down thinking that every month should be a celebration of Black History and not just in February,

Black History Month is special for every one who respect and honored what every African American has done weather it would be in Politics, entertainment or even if they were an inventor.

Harriet Tubman got slaves safely to freedom. Rosa Parks sat on the front of the bus, wouldn't move and gets arrested for it, because she is not white. Malcolm X made speeches that rings in everyone ears still today  And Barack Obamana became our first Black President.

So despite what is happening with the Oscars, it doesn't mean we shouldn't forget the most important moment in history in all the month of February. Black History.

To leave you with these words by Martin Luther King Jr.: "Peace is not mearly a distant goal that we seek, but a means by which we arrive at that goal"

Never forget your history and your past because your future depends on it. Ciao Bloggers
