She was an amazement with her story of a tomboy girl named Scout. Motherless, her father a juror trying to defend a black man raping a white woman which was rare back in the days of segregation, but he did the best he could Tom Robinson's innocents. Even though he lost the trial, and Tom Robinson was gun down, and the right person was injustice all from what appeared to be an accident caused by Boo Radley in an accident when he was trying to save the Finch Children.
Gregory Peck portrayed Atticus Finch in the 1962 rendition and he was marvelous. Robert Duvall Was Boo Radley and he didn't speak any words but the actions he portrayed showed the emotions the character was going through. To quote Atticus: "You never really understand a person until you consider things from his point of view... Until you climb inside of his skin and walk around in it."
Heavy words, portrayed by an author who had experienced so much in her life...
Authors usually take stories from their life and point of views and try to inspirited it and make the history come to life.
Harper Lee was one of them.
She didn't have a mother and her father was lawyer, but unlike Atticus, after he lost a case he went to drinking. Harper Lee never wrote another book again. But in 2014, she wrote another book that showed the adult side of Scout titled: "Go Set a Watchman"
It wasn't as great as "To Kill a Mockingbird" was but it show she wasn't giving up in her writing and was living in Alabama, but sadly... passed away at the age of 89, giving people hope that there is a little Scout inside of all of us. That we can defend someone and not because of race and color. We don't judge a person at all, everyone is a human being.
Harper Lee taught us that. And because of "To Kill a Mockingbird" Great wisdom and speeches, we can share not only an amazing movie that made Gregory Peck a star, but can teach a person to be human and not to judge someone because they are different.
Thank You Harper Lee. We Will really Miss you.
"Until I feared I would lose it, I never loved to read. One Does not love breathing."-Harper Lee (1926-2016)
