Oh the fighting, the beatings
The scrapes,
The bruises,
and for what?
To get in line to find the right gifts,
So someone they give the gift for,
Can be happy?
It seems every year,
We do the same thing over,
and over,
Some people love:
the thrill of the shop,
the enhancement of the chasing through aisles,
clawing eyes out,
as they get the one gift,
everyone wants,
One year:
Cabbage patch kids,
another,
Tickle me Elmo,
A Wii,
and every year,
they make it
earlier,
and earlier,
and earlier,
No longer caring about Thanksgiving,
making earlier dinners,
as other run to wait in line late at night,
how many deaths will happen next
Door buster deals,
as well as,
having many 'black friday' sales,
even before Thanksgiving.
Does that mean Thanksgiving is....
forgotten?
In some years yes,
but it doesn't mean the memories die...
They are forever in our hearts,
Enjoy this Thanksgiving,
Enjoy Black Friday,
but for me,
I'll stick to Cyber Monday
