"Groove is in the heart?"
"She's so High?"
"Mmmm..."
"What is love?"
They are all songs by one hit wonders. I never knew the 80's and 90's were full of songs that were full of hits by singers that never made another hit such as Tommy Two Tone and "Jenny 867-5309" or Toni Basil "Mickey" or Dead or Alive "Spin me right round" I can go on and on.
Some of the singers went on to do better things, or in the case of Milli Vanilli, they were not singers, were caught lip singing and were booed off stage
Sadly one of Milli Vanilli stars Rob, died and the other, Fab is actually a pretty good singer and has one album out, and he isn't lip syncing.
"I wanna be rich" singers Calloway, the brothers went their separate ways after their only hit.
Vanilla Ice had some hits, now he's useless. A one hit wonder, more like a no hit wonder.
Why do some singers never try again after one song? Do they feel they were too good with their only song like Devo's "Whip It" or A-Ha "Take on Me"
In the 90's they still were getting singers that only were big with one hit songs.
I have some of them, and why they never got any bigger, I don't know, maybe they didn't have money or they did drugs, or the 90's were just like the 80's too powerful for some stars to make it big.
"I get knocked down", "You get what you give"
"No rain" sung by blind melon involved a tap dancing bee girl, and I also read that the lead singer was high in the music video (he's now dead)
That tap dancing bee girl is now a grown woman and a lot of people ask her if she still has the costume. She answered them by showing the costume of her youth and wearing a brand new bee costume.
Sir-Mix-A lot "Mr. Baby Got Back" got sick and tired of his own song, saying if he heard it playing in a room, he would pay anyone to shut it off.
Some one-it wonders actually hate their own song so much they would go into hiding from it or paying people to turn it off completely.
MC Hammer lost all his money after his song, and ending up making a crappy cartoon just to get his money back. Vanilla Ice lost his money and did a movie and crappy commercials.
No matter what happens, there will always be a one hit wonder lurking around, singing their one and only song and hating many years later.
There are some today. Maybe they will make a comeback, god knows.
Till then, Ciao Bloggers and enjoy the one hit wonders on the radio.
