When Colonel Sanders died, they brought in a look alike for the commercials named Henderson Forsythe and a lot of people thought it was the real thing. He was around for most of the 90's to the end of the 90's with the slogan "the colonel way" and then in the millennium, they went to a cartoon version the Colonel
However in 2015, Darrell Hammond from SNL, became one of the first to bring back Colonel Sanders from the dead. Although he was great, it wouldn't last.
Bringing in new chicken would mean having to bring new actors and place them in a white suit and pay them with chicken fingers of deep fried chicken bones.
Norm McDonald, another SNL fave, would soon take Darrell's place. He wasn't great but, then again it was for chicken. Rob Riggle, Vince Kartheiser, and even George Hamilton were all the Colonel at one point.
I find it annoying, even though I don't eat the chicken, they change actors constantly maybe because they sucked, or their contract suffered or maybe they were only were around for one chicken promotion I don't know.
Now we have a new one portrayed by Rob Lowe. For a new chicken sandwich he is giving out, dressed as a spaceman?
Well they painted Billy Zane in gold, what else can KFC do?
