Are the Oscars just Pointless???

 We all know what happened when the best pictures winner was announced.
          We all thought, along with the audience and everyone watching that La La Land was the winner, well guess what. Something happened to prove that they were wrong.

It seemed that Faye Dunaway and Warren Batey were announcing the winners, and it took them a pretty long time for them to announce the winner and it seemed after the La La land crew came up on stage to accept their award, it seemed there was some commotion going on according to Jimmy Kimmel who talked about it over his talk show the next day.

      Eventually, coming clean, the producers of La La land said that they lost and said that Moonlight won best picture.
   

   This has happened before in the Oscars, believe me. Not the first time, but this year, I couldn't believe it, and neither would the producers of Moonlight a story about a kid who lives his life in three ways: a child, a teenager and an adult.

   I was in Jersey when this event happened, had to wake up my mom because I couldn't believe myself on what was happening, let alone knowing Jimmy Kimmel saying that he blamed Steve Harvey for what happened.

      I know it wasn't Warren's fault. It was someone backstage mixing up folders and given Faye and Warren the wrong one. 

           And there was more than one screw up that was happening and nobody knew it until the next day and it was in the in memoriam segment. Her name is Jan Chapman and apparently she knew the late Janet Patterson.

   Well from one insanity to the next. It has happened before, like someone streaking nude in the 70's Oscars and well, Sandy Davis Jr. reading the wrong card (Deja vu) It seems the Oscars aren't taken as serious as they used to be. It seems to be more of a joke to some people, but I am a movie buff and believe me I love to see what they wear and pray that next year it won't be too annoying, or be so much on politics but we'll see.

   I'm happy for who won and, I guess I would love to see Hidden Figures, Fences and Lion. The rest not too much.
