The Casagrande's-The Loud House wannabe

 

     I talked about Loud House, a show about a boy who has over ten sisters in a family from Michigan. Well, this is a story about a friend of his that moves to the city. She has an older brother named Bobby who is dating Lincoln's oldest sister, Lori 

   The same creators of 'Loud House' decided to give a spin-off show involving the Casagrande's. A family with a mother who works long shifts as a nurse while her father is off on the Amazon as a doctor...or, I don't know. But they come from a divorced family. Her name is Ronnie Anne Satiago and was part of the Loud House show before she got her own series.

 

       Ronnie Anne has been living with her mother's family for a few years now. She even lives with her mother's parents who are very loving and well...feed her a lot of food. Her mother has a younger brother who is considered a genius and has won many awards. He is married to an artist, and they have four kids. The oldest is a girl named Carlota. She has a blog as well as Ronnie Anne trying to keep a strong connection with her.

  Their first son is named CJ. He has down syndrome and loves pirates. They actually used a voice actor who suffers from Down Syndrome to portray CJ. Ronnie Anne has another cousin named Carl who has a crush on Lori and doesn't like Bobby. He is also an instigator as well. Carlotis is the baby of the family.

  Ronnie Anne has a few friends that she introduced to Lincoln but kept her identity of where she lived a secret. After revealing the secret, they all still became her friends. Not knowing this show well, Ronnie Anne gained more friends. I don't remember their names, except for one.

An Asian-American named Sid Chang. She started to become the new neighbor and Ronnie Anne became a close friend of hers. She has a younger sister, and her mother runs a zoo not too far from where they live. Her father is a train conductor

Good with robotics she creates a robot that she names Breakfast bot. She even overloads it whenever she and Ronnie Anne doesn't want to do chores. Ronnie Anne and Sid are great skaters as well. They have friends and enemies, and sometimes they have to deal with the same problems that Lincoln and his friends have back on Loud House.

  But sadly, some shows do come to an end. While Loud House has been going on through six seasons, the Casagrande's got the axe. It seems Nickelodeon pulled the plug on this show after three seasons. Why do I think of it? I'm not surprised, but I am a little upset. Nickelodeon hasn't really been going strong lately since a sponge with squared pants entered Nickelodeon. The only show I watch are this one, as well as loud house and old episodes of SpongeBob.

  Knowing that Loud House might be the next to go, it amazes me that some cartoon shows last longer than others, while SpongeBob continues to reign on Nickelodeon even after the creator passed away. Well, here's to a show that tried it's best as a spin-off to another show that were both watchable.

Movies that should have won best pictures but didn't

 

    Recently we just saw the Oscars and CODA (Child of death adults) won best picture. I never saw the movie, and I would like to one day. But sone movies get screwed over. Other movies that won best picture...should not have won at all.

  YEAR: 2018

MOVIE THAT SHOULD HAVE WON: Dunkirk. A story about soldiers in World War One. During that time the acting of it was amazing. The story was based on truth as well as having it involve soldiers trying to get home alive. If you have studied anything about Dunkirk or WWI, you would know this movie was very tragic and amazing at the same time

MOVIE THAT DID WIN: The Shape of Water. I don't hate this movie, but this is one movie that didn't need to win best picture. A story about a creature that communicates with a deaf woman. It seemed ok, but not a best picture win. The story seemed a little rushed, trying to save a creature from the water by people that want to dissect him and such. 

YEAR: 1996

MOVIE THAT SHOULD HAVE WON: Fargo. All I remember about this movie is Steve Buscemi in the woodchipper. Great acting, amazing story. Funny and dramatic at the same time. Created by the Cohen brothers, this movie is about a place in Fargo where murder and drama happen. Francis McDormand won for best actress, so why couldn't this movie win best picture???

MOVIE THAT DID WIN: The English Patient. Never saw it, never wanted to see it. Too long and too boring! What was the academy thinking? You had better films than this. I like the actors; I just didn't care for the story. It sucked. I enjoyed the Seinfeld episode where they mock this movie with Elaine saying how much she hated it. I'm with her.

YEAR: 1958

MOVIE THAT SHOULD HAVE WON: 12 angry men. Based off a play, this movie was very dramatic. A story about 12 jurors trying to decide the fate of a young boy. Starring Henry Fonda, this movie takes place in one room where only one juror feels the innocence of a young child. This movie was one of my favorites. 

MOVIE THAT DID WIN: Bridge over the river kwai. Nothing negative on this movie. I just feel it wasn't the strong one. The story's ok, based off a novel. The acting was not bad either. The running time of this movie is pretty long, about 161 minutes, but the stories ok. I just would have preferred 12 angry men or another movie.

YEAR: 2015

MOVIE THAT SHOULD HAVE WON: Boyhood. This movie took years to make. When the young child went from an adolecence to a teenager. I never saw the movie, but it looked like a movie that should have won best picture. The acting is pretty good, especially from the young boy who was only six when he started.

MOVIE THAT DID WIN: Birdman. This Movie was ok. I saw it, I like Michael Keaton, but this movie winning best Oscar. It isn't horrible or anything. I find it ok, enjoyable. Got an idea of what the stories about. But Michael Keaton is better as Batman. He's a good actor, but this movie is kind of a weak one.

YEAR: 2012

MOVIE THAT SHOULD HAVE WON: The Help. Based on a true story where African American maids that help out rich people but are still judged by how they appear. Emma Stone is a young woman who decides to get their side of the story. I thought this movie was amazing. Great acting, great story. It should have won.

MOVIE THAT DID WIN: The Artist. It was considered a 'silent' movie, where there is no talking, singing or anything. I don't even remember this movie that well...and it won best picture over The Help or even The Tree of Life. Any other movie that was nominated is better than this train wreck.

YEAR: 2004

MOVIE THAT SHOULD HAVE WON: Ray. If you ever heard of the singer Ray Charels, than this is the movie supposedly based on his life. Jamie Foxx was amazing portraying him in this movie. I feel the story based on Ray Charles life was good enough to win an Oscar. Sad that he passed away before the movie was in theaters.

MOVIE THAT DID WIN:  Million Dollar Baby. A story directed by Clint Eastwood is kind of like a boxing movie where Hillary Swank ends up dead at the end. This movie was ok, but there were better ones that deserved to Oscar more than this. Clint Eastwood is still acting and directing, which is pretty interesting enough.

YEAR: 2002

MOVIE THAT SHOULD HAVE WON: Gangs of New York. Leonardo DiCaprio, Daniel Day Lewis and many great actors in this story about New York in the days of Lincoln where corruption would happen most of the time. This movie was really good and so was the music. The only downside is Cameron Diaz as the leading lady. Everything else was good. This movie should have won that year.

MOVIE THAT DID WIN: Chicago. This movie is just another musical that failed, well in my opinion anyway. I didn't like it. The songs were annoying, the acting was too much and it's just...there are much better movies than this. No offence and all, but Chicago is one movie that should not have won best picture.

YEAR: 1998

MOVIE THAT SHOULD HAVE WON: Saving Private Ryan. A story that takes place during WWII. It is tragic, dramatic and sad. A story about soldiers trying to save one of their own while surviving themselves. Tom Hanks, Matt Damon and many other actors make up this star-studded cast. When my mom saw it but brought her to tears as she thought of her father.

MOVIE THAT DID WIN: Shakespeare in love. I never saw this movie, but I could tell this was one of the weakest ones to win best picture. The acting and story are just not strong enough to win a best Oscar, and yet it did. I'd rather Saving Private Ryan over this movie. The acting might be ok, but I don't think this movie is best picture worthy.

   Everyone is different when they choose their movies. Some of them are better than others. And now, with CODA winning best picture, I wouldn't mind seeing it. Would it be the best, or is it worth as a movie that should not have won? Well, you be the judge. For me, I think it deserved it.

How many streaming shows are there now?

 

           First...there were VHS's, then DVD's and now...not many people even go to movie theaters anymore. Why? Streaming sites. They are everywhere now. From Netflix to Amazon Prime...there are too many streaming sites. So... how many are there now?

    

   A few streaming sites have popped up offering free movies as well as tv shows. One catch though, you have to pay for it, or deal with commercials. Some streaming sites you have to pay for, while others you can go free...but you have to watch commercials.

Peacock is a new streaming site from NBC where you can see NBC shows as well as a few movies. I got this recently, yet...I don't pay attention to it as much as the others. Peacock is a reacent add on from NBC. 

   If you ever go to a website called IMDB, you will find out movies and tv shows as well as info on celebrates and movies. Being part of the Amazon Prime, IMDB Tv lets you see movies for free, but like with Peacock, you have to deal with ads. Not a big deal, but better than paying for it.

   CBS, Nickelodeon and even other networks are starting to become part of the Paramount+ streaming site. I don't have any desire to get this one, but for some reason, there are some shows on this streaming site I wouldn't mind seeing. But alas, not getting this streaming site

  

 Discovery+ is part of the HGTV and Food Network family. Streaming their shows along with Discovery. They would have cooking shows, house remodeling and much more. This another streaming site I'm trying NOT to get. I don't watch many of the shows and it seems like this one is a pass.

  If you look on your computer, or smart tv, you would see how many streaming sites there are. From Hulu, to Disney+, HBO max and many, many more. It feels by four more years some network shows will no longer be on TV and we would have to rely on streaming services. 

   But...what are the most popular streaming sites today? HBO Max. Hulu, Netflix? Well, it seems every day there is a new streaming site coming up. It also appears that a few shows are moving from one streaming site to another. There isn't a best, but...there are some that can be free for you, while others you have to pay.

Cheese please...

what cheese to desire

gouda,

cheddar,

asiago?

perfect when melted,

between slices of bread,

ooey and gooey,

on top of food,

or melted in between

what cheese is considered the best,

is there any,

that tops them all,

or are there different types,

to please every pallet,

on top of a pizza,

is heaven,

melting between,

each slice,

as you pick it up,

the cheese will pull as if,

mozzarella,

is the stringiest of all

as others pull with strength,

some crumble,

onto salads,

or on a burger,

slice is nice,

to place netly,

on a sandwich,

this cheese,

comes in squares,

and is ready,

for melting

not all cheese,

is equal,

not every cheese,

is real,

some have oils and fillers,

disguised as cheese

what cheese is real,

and which is an imposter?

If you go to different countries,

you'll find the real stuff,

Italy, 

France,

Switzerland

Not everyone eats cheese,

the lactose,

the vegans,

the haters of cheese,

but for some of us,

we gorge,

in cheesy goodness

You'll cheese in everything,

and after reading this,

you wanna slice,

Batman: the animated series (best batman of all?)

    Everyone loves the caped crusader. From the movies to his animated series. There is one thing though. Everybody has their favorite movie whether it be: Batman 1989 or The Dark Knight (my personal best) to even the new one that's out now. 

    What about the animated specials?

   I have two favorites, but for me, I think the original is the superior one. Started around 1992, when I was like eight years old, with voice acting from Kevin Conroy, Bob Hastings, Arleen Sorkin and even Luke Skywalker himself.... Mark Hamill as the joker.

Yes, that's right.... Mark Hamill as the villain. He did a splendid job voicing the evil clown that he is now known for that as well as Luke Skywalker. There are other masked figures in the show like Penguin, Riddler, Two-Face and many more. But I think this show is more known for the joker than any other villian

Even Robin is more fleshed out in this one than even the Batman and Robin movie. Robin was seen in some episodes but not all. They treated his character like aa real human being and not a throw away gag some shows do. 

   Robin could end up in peril (more than once) but he was more adult than Burt Ward in the Adam West Batman. Sometimes using a sidekick was not part of Batman's help, but he was always there when needed, even showing how he became an orphan in the cartoon.

     However, there was a downgrade in animation when the second season hit. After going through 65 episodes, the animators decided to do something different with the style of animation. Making things more angular and changing the characters. Some were pretty positive, but there were more negative views.

    The Joker had the worst look of all.... making his eyes darker and thinning out his chin to a point. Blessed Mark still voiced him, but it hurt the series in a bad way getting canceled after the design change in one season.

Another show I wanna talk about is called "The Batman" Lasting around 2005 to I think 2008, this was a different verson of The Batman. Voice acting was different, but recognizable to me, stories were somewhat toned darker.

Batman: The animated series had a dark tone as well but having different voices for the characters could either help or hurt the franchise. It did both

Designs were very different at the time. Making Robin into a tween, having the joker look more like a demon, the Penguin being fatter and Mr. Freeze unseen through a block of ice on his head. The voice acting... Well, you have Mr. Freeze being voiced by Casey Brow, who also voices Mr. Krabbs. The Penguin is voiced by SpongeBob SquarePants (look it up) and Mark Hamill does NOT voice The Joker.

Even though he is voiced by a talented voice actor, Kevin Michael Richardson, I still think Mark Hamill was better and more memorable. I still enjoyed this show. It had its moments, and it did feel somewhat dark like Batman: The animated Series

So....is Batman: The animated series the more superior Batman cartoon? Well, there are so many Batman cartoons that even Scooby Doo teamed up with him to find Alfred. In my opinion...they're both great, but the one with most memory is none other than Batman: the animated series. Even it had its downfall in later seasons, this show will always remain the most memorable one. Down to the caped crusader himself
