She started her acting career young. Born on October 11th in 1985, she didn't really get into acting until she was around seven years old. Doing some commercials and then becoming popular on Nickelodeon show... "The Adventures of Pete and Pete." Her parents were Jewish immigrants. Her mother even spoke Russian.
I really never got into the show, but I loved it when I did. She portrayed young Pete's best friend Nona. They would get into trouble or solve problems like what happened to their friend who gave them ice cream and a summer they would never forget.
In 1996, Nickelodeon decided to make their own movies and the first one had her in it. "Harriet the Spy". It also starred Rosie O'Donnell; she was popular back then. I enjoyed this movie, and it came out when she turned eleven years old. It started her movie career. But sadly...it didn't last.
Sure, she was in other movies like "Inspector Gadget" (well, she was barely in the movie), Richie Rich's Christmas wish, 17 again and other movies.
She soon became Buffy's half-sister, Dawn in later seasons of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer." Not a bad choice, but some people felt she was a necessary character. I don't know; just started watching the show, so I can't say if I agree or disagree yet.
She also played a character named Georgia in Gossip Girls...then, she left the acting career to focus on her life.
She hasn't been heard from much and only has guest voiced as certain characters in tv shows. She came back recently with a video clip on X (formally Twitter) where people were worried about her. She was looking pale her eyes.
They asked if she was ok. She answered that she was getting older and wasn't a young woman anymore.
Sadly, this February...we lost her. It seemed that she had a liver transplant a few months ago and I guess the body rejected it...causing her death.
Whatever it was...I was pretty shocked. I remember her from my childhood. She won a few awards back when she was a kid. Now...she'll only be remembered for all the shows and movies she was in. Happy Heavenly birthday to Michelle. You will be missed.
