Firefly extinction

Remember when you were little and you would go outside most summer nights and catch fireflies? Well...it seems as if it will end forever by the end of next year. It's sadly true but...it seems fireflies are starting to fade into the past.

It's sadly true, but have you seen fireflies out in the darkness lately? I haven't.

It's sad that another part of our childhood is going. This one being a child and catching fireflies. I don't know if I've done this...but many other children have. All grown up now, they want their own children to experience what they did.

Sadly, I don't think it's going to happen. Not just because kids are more focused on technology, but fireflies are going to extinction.

Fireflies were a part of a summer tradition for some. Catching them and putting them in jars with holes on the lid.

Catching a piece of the outdoors in one bug. A firefly glows in the dark through their ass. True, but it was a memorable part of childhood for some.

Fireflies were just creatures that were harmless bugs. What's going on to make them disappear? Is it the lack of mating? Are we killing another species like we did with certain others? No one knows. It's a part of nature that has no answer to what happened to the firefly.

Sometimes....when the climate changes, certain incest starts to vanish completely without us knowing. With the way the climate is now... I wouldn't be surprised if another incest starts to disappear.

Why can't mosquitos be the ones to go extinct?  That's one insect I would love to see go extinct. All they do is suck your blood and carry diseases.

If mosquitos go extinct...I wouldn't be sad. I think I would be happy. I think a lot of people would be happy.

So... this might be it for us. Maybe one or two more years of seeing fireflies until...they're gone. It's a sad thing to see part of our childhood will be gone....and never come back.

We know we all have to grow up, but we never will see fireflies again. It's sad we'll never had a part of summer that made summer what it is. Now we have a lot of heat and rain. That doesn't really make summer fun.
