His names is James, and he would change Jeopardy forever. Who is he though?
Born in 1984 in Naperville, Illinois, James was raised in Las Vegas where he became a professional gambler. Not many people outside of Vegas have heard of him, but then....
April 4th, 2019, James appeared had spent almost two months as the reigning Jeopardy champ.
It seem he would have a strategy that would work with him through many of the episodes. He would pick at the bottom of the money wager, wagering almost a thousand to two thousand dollars. And when he finds the daily doubles, he has a system.
He would bet it all, using his hands to push in poker chips as he said. Sixty percent of the time, he gets it right, other times he would pick a number that would either someone's birthday, or a number at random.
Before going onto Jeopardy, he went on a game show called The Chase in 2014. He got all the questions right in the final round, winning for his team.
His wife, Melissa, is also known for being on a game show called Millionaire. I forget who hosted it, but she did pretty well too.
James was considered the slaughter house to other contestant that were playing against him. Nobody could beat him, that's what we all thought until...June 3rd 2019. Over 33 games and soon...
A young woman named Emma Boettchar, a woman lived in Chicago (but was originally from Paoli, Pennsylvania) went on, and eventually won.
James, as well as all of us, were surprised and amazed that a young woman, a librarian no less destroyed the so called slaughterhouse. What surprised me is where she was originally from. Paoli, Pa. She went to the same college as my uncle did. (They didn't graduate the same year)
She will ever be known as... the James Crusher
James life was never the same, but he was still known as an amazement. Donating most of his winnings to charities, getting the key from the mayor of Las Vegas, and knowing that everywhere he goes, he will always be known as the Jeopardy champ of 2019. He came back recently with two other champions.
Ken Jennings originally from Washington, but moved to Utah. He was known as the 74 day Jeopardy champ. Another champ is named Brad Rutter from Lancaster, Pennsylvania. I don't remember his as well as I would Ken and James.
James didn't win that one, but he came in second place to Ken Jennings. Out of all of them, I think of Ken as the least favorite. I always thought he was full of himself, but he's ok. Brad was fine too, but I always had a soft spot for James.
James has a daughter named Natasha who is now six years old. He tries not to be recognized much, but his daughter always squeals. He is a huge Cubs fan, and got to keep a jersey of one after the Cubs won, and find ing James was a fan, he got one.
It seems James is living a great life, and he'll always be known as a jeopardy champ, but a good father, good husband one one hell of an amazing gambler.
