Ever heard of these books? They were very popular back in the early 1990's. I never got into them, but I have heard of it. Now finding out it's non Netflix, I don't know how I feel about it, but I do remember the books and the movies.
Ann M. Martin started the babysitter's club which consist of a few pre-teen girls wanting to make some money with babysitting small kids. The leader is Kristy, who is best friends with Claudia. She also have others join like.... Stacy, Dawn, Mary-Anne, Jesse, Mallory. I'm trying to remember the names.
I was more into another series called "Babysitter's little sister" It involved Kristy's little sister named Karen and her adventures. It was kind of like a spy story or something, but it mostly involved Karen and her friends, wanting to help out her older sister.
Then came the movie: The Babysitter's Club. Coming out when I was ten years old, I wanted to see it, and I liked it. It involved Kristy and her friends a summer she would never forget.
Her estranged father comes back into her life, and she feel she only can trust one of her friends, Mary-Anne (portrayed by Rachel Leigh Cooke) Meanwhile her other friend, Claudia, flunked Science and has to attend summer school. Stacy falls in loved with a boy older than she was.
They also decide to create a summer camp to bring in more money for a new office. It somehow works out, but not enough. They even have to deal with Dawn's next door neighbor who is not happy with the camp. I try to remember some of the movie, but it seems Kristy doesn't want anyone to know about her estranged father coming back, so she lies to her friends. Even Mary-Anne has to keep the lie as well.
Now, the Babysitter's club has come to Netflix, and how do I feel about it? I have mixed emotions. Seems interesting, but I don't think I want to see it. I don't know why. I guess with seeing so many shows and movies on Netflix, I don't know if I wanna see it.
On the plus side, Alicia Silverstone, is in it and portrays Kristy's mom who is getting engaged to her boyfriend. Kristy doesn't feel confident about it and it seems she tries to deal with it as she has a club of friends to deal with as well. It usually goes by episodes, and it deals with the stress
Out of all the Babysitter's clubs I have come across, I think I remember the movie the most
I guess because, I never read any of the babysitter's club books, and there are different adaptations of this book. But I will always remember that movie.
