Scary but true, watching the Simpsons can also predict the outcome of our future. How? Well, They predicted Trump was going to be our president, Disney was going to own Fox Network...and so much more.
Here are a few things The Simpsons predict would happen, before it really did.
1. Predicting that Trump will run for president- There's an episode called "Bart to the future". It's an ok episode not great. Bart tries to gamble but is caught and an Indian Storyteller tells Bart what his future would be like. Him living with Ralph while Lisa is the president. In one Scene she says, "as you know we inherited quite a budge crunch from President Trump." First off, this came out in early 2000, almost sixteen to seventeen years before Trump would run for president. It's just mind blowing that after it happened there was a chalkboard gag that read: "I hate when I am right"
2. Siegfried and Roy Tiger attack- Back around 1993, there was an episode where Springfield had casinos everywhere. Not only did it Marge get addicted to gambling, there were two characters that resembled Siegfried and Roy. They ended up getting attacked by their tiger from the show. A couple of years later, Siegfried got attacked by one of his own tigers in 2003. TEN YEARS LATER. He is ok and still performing today, but wow. Imagine that.
3. Homer figures out (predicts) the mass in the Higgs Boson- For any of you nerds, this episode called "Wizard on Evergreen Terrence" Homer tries to create a few inventions. On a chalkboard he has complicated math equations that for some reason might have considered to be one of the solutions to Higgs Boson that many men have been trying to solve. Does that mean Homer's a genius? Well it wasn't figured out until 14 years later. It's considered to be called a magical mistake, or something else. They do considered to be called the "god parodical"
4. Predicting Lady Gaga's Super bowl event- Even if it was considered one of the worst Simpson Episodes ever, it did bring out something interesting. In one Scene, Lady Gaga flies over the citizens wearing an interesting outfit that shoots out fireworks. That was back in 2012. In the Super bowl half time show in I guess 2016 or 2017, She came down on strings and flying over the crowds. Freaky.
5. Predicting the birth of the Tomacco- In an episode called "E-I-E-I-D'oh" Homer grows tomatoes, but it turns out to have tobacco seeds inside. Homer sells them, but that was back in 1999, about five years later, a man projected the same thing. Cross-breading a tomato and a tobacco seed. It seemed they were starting to sell as well. He says that he had the idea for it watching it on the Simpsons. It took him many tries, but it worked. He lives in England. I guess across the pond, ideas can sprout. And in 2013, mutated vegetables started to appear over the seas of Japan, cross-breeding vegetable seeds with something else.
6. Predicting the world cup/FIFA scandle- This is a twofor. First the world cup predticion. In the epsiode "the cartage family" back in 1997, the Simpsons were watching a world cup came with Mexico vs. Portigul. Years later, it seems both Mexico and Portigul play against each other in the World Cup games of 2018. WHAT THE HELL!!! It's magic. The FIFA scandal is different. In an episode called "You don't have to live like a reffere" it seems Homer becomes a soccer refere. An EVP ends up getting arrested in Homer's home, years later, there had been corruptions going on with several arrests happening. And they even predicting Germany winning the cup.
7. Predicting Bengt R. Holmstorm wins a noble prize- Back in 2010, Lisa and her friends are watching the noble prize winners be announced live, with Milhouse predicting Holmstorm being one of them. Krusty the Clown being one of them (only that was a prank) Bengt R. Holmstorm was in the running. Six years later, he did win the noble prize. Congrats to him.
8. Predicting Technology- A few episodes that feature Bart, Lisa, Marge, Maggie and Homer in the future, it came with technology. They gave us smart watches, video phones, iPods, iPads. Most episodes like "Lisa's Wedding" or "Bart after Dark" would show us what the future would be like. It seems they do come true eventually.
9. Predicting 9/11- In 1997, there was an episode called "New York vs. Homer" Homer's car is parked between the two towers of NYC. They get a brochure that shows New York $9 and the twin towers being number 11. Well after the tragedy, they banned the episode until a few years later when they felt it was deemed ok to see again.
There were other times they had predicted the future of our outcome. Like:
Toys R Us ending
Stealing Cooking grease
Outcome of the Winter Olympics
Patriots Winning Super Bowl/ As well as other teams
And the last one well... let's just say, we were surprised from the get go.
10. Disney takes over Fox- during the eleventh season, Mel Brooks asks for Homer's help with a movie. Going to Hollywood, there is a sign that says 20th Century Fox "A division of Walt Disney Co." Let's say, even if they were joking at the time, you never knew that about almost Twenty years later, it seemed that it came true. Disney Co owned Fox, as well as ABC as other broadcasting station.
Well, that's strange but true facts, maybe the writers of the Simpsons are time travelers.
