My top ten, and why these moments are always going to remain the best of this show.
10. Sheldon meets Amy for the first time- Before the end of the third season, Howard and Leonard already had dates. Sheldon was still his usual bossy, pointless self. Howard and Rahj decide to set Sheldon up with a date. Sheldon declines at first, but by threat of leaving a dirty sock near Sheldon, he accepts. He soon meets Amy Farrah Fowler, and they make somewhat of a connection that grows stronger within the seasons. They even take Penny to their first day where she gives them the nickname "Shamy"9. Sheldon meets his idol, Stephen Hawking- Being a condescending jerk to Howard is not a good thing for Sheldon when hears that Howard would be working in the engineering department of the one and only Stephen Hawking. Sheldon's idol. He has to help Howard out with any task that he gives him, including saying something positive about his job. After that, Sheldon learns that Howard already gave Sheldon's paper to Hawking. He finally his idol only to faint finding out that he gave a paper that had a mistake on it, making Hawking quote: 'Oh great, another fainter.'
8. Leonard and Penny get married/elope- Around the eighth season, Penny and Leonard decide to elope so they wouldn't have to deal with all the family drama that occurs at a wedding. At this time Sheldon and Amy break up, and are hurt to hear that they eloped. Mostly everyone in Leonard and Penny's family are hurt. They decide to have second wedding where we finally meet Leonard's father (played by Judd Hersch) and Penny's parents and brother. By then, Sheldon and Amy patch things together, becoming boyfriend and girlfriend.
7. Sheldon kisses Amy for the first time- Both Sheldon and Amy have kissed before, but the first kiss, would happen on a train during Valentine's day. But the most romantic one they had, would have to be when they got back together. Sheldon has a song stuck in his head, soon realizing it was "Darlin'" by the Beach boys. The reason why, was because of Amy. He confronts her while she was on a date, and says that he wants to be her boyfriend. They finally kiss. The kiss on the train was their first, but that was because she was being ignored as they were spending time on a train wine tasting. Eventually, they kiss, and fall in love.
6. Leonard proposes to Penny (more than once)- It seems Leonard is the one that would offer proposal to Penny on many occasions. The first time was a little acquired for the both of them. They were in bed, making love, and he blurts out "will you merry me" during sex. Other times they were either drunk. Penny's career wasn't going anywhere and she started to propose to Leonard, he said no. He even counts the times he proposed to her. Eventually by the mid to end of the seventh season, they said yes, and they were engaged.5. Rahj can talk to women without drinking- around the end of the sixth season, Rahj couldn't talk at all. Well he can, but not to women. He was so depressed, lonely. Eventually he got a date with a woman named Lucy. They both had anxiety issues and couldn't talk in public much. However, she broke up with him, because he was being too needy and she was scared of meeting his friends when they were throwing a going away party for Leonard. He was sad and left to go back to his apartment. Penny tries to cheer her up, thinking it's just the booze talking. But he says that he hasn't had a drink since last night. What surprised them both----Rahj was talking to Penny without booze. Ever since then, Rahj was able to talk to anyone. Man or woman. It would be this way till the last episode
4. Sheldon and Amy's work finally comes true- This one is a recent one. Around Sheldon and Amy's wedding, they were focusing on super A-Simi try. Eventually they figured out the math and the scientific field on how it could be possible for super A-Simi try to actually exist, and they would end up getting a medal, maybe even a Pulitzer prize. They would have to deal with people that are trying to steal it along with a Russian team proving that they already figured out the theory as well. I guess by the end of the series, we'll see if Sheldon and Amy finally do get a Pulitzer prize once and for all.
3. Sheldon and Amy's Wedding- Like Penny and Leonard, and Howard and Bernadette, Sheldon finally gets his fairy tail wedding. After dealing with Amy's mother and Sheldon, having to bring his brother, it seems the wedding of Sheldon and Amy was going to happen. It seemed though, there were a few bumps in the road before it would happen. Will Wheaton was going to officiate the wedding, but with Mark Hamill's dog being found by Howard, he offered him anything as a reward. He soon replaces Will Wheaton and becomes the new minister at their wedding...but before it could happen, he and Amy were doing scientific equations of figuring out the dark matter and if it being imperfect was the way to go. They eventually become husband and wife, and it seems would be ok. (After dealing with Amy's mom who thinks Sheldon bailed on Amy)2. Howard and Bernadette have two kids- With Howard being the first one to marry, it seemed that he soon would find out Bernadette would get pregnant. After finding a bunny rabbit in the hot tub, and getting the bunny back to health and happiness, she reveals that she would tell Howard later that she was pregnant. When she tells Howard, he flips out, thinking what he was going to do for the finance. Later, around Amy's (and my) birthday, Howard has a daughter, after finding out from Rahj as they were trying to keep it a secret. They finally have a daughter and named her Hailey after the comet. A couple years later, about a year or two, Bernadette is pregnant again (because Melissa Rauch was pregnant in real life, they had to make Bernadette pregnant too) and with this one, she had to leave Big Bang Theory for a month so she could give birth. Congrats to both.
And what do I think is the best....well let's just say, it started with this....
1. How it all began, and how it will end- I always remembered 12 years ago how it all started, but there was another "unaired" pilot where Penny was not even in it, they didn't even use the same actress. Her name would be Katie, and she would be the polar opposite of Penny. She was scratched, and replaced with Penny. The first episode is pretty interesting. Penny moves in, Leonard has a crush on her, and Sheldon well, he's oblivious. He starts doing his famous Penny knock by episode two and they try to get along. Eventually, without knowing it, Sheldon had made a friend, while Leonard tried to become her boy-friend.But how will it end? They said that would finally answer a dark question that everyone's been asking as another would stay a mystery. Within through the 12 years I have seen this show, they had never revealed Penny's last name. It would become Hofstetter after she married Leonard. Even the elevator hasn't worked since the first season.
Maybe, at the end, it will finally work, for a few seconds. I don't know. But we will be sad, but, it's for the best. Time for these four funny nerds, to go on with their lives. Johnny Galeki, Jim Parsons and Kaley Cuoco already have made millions with this shows, and their lives have been better. Jim got married to his life partner, Kaley is married and Johnny found out his girlfriend is pregnant, and he will be a dad.
Till then, we'll always remember these guys for the funny episodes they have given us. The laughter, the tears, the surprises...they were all there.
