One year is gone
another to come
what a year it has been
ups
and downs
a year
almost gone
Starting with a wildfire
in most of Southern California
all because
of an angry uber driver
and a lit cigarette
Taking months
to find the answer
to a deadly fire
that burned down homes
of the rich
and poor
In February
a win
for Philadelphia
as the Eagles
Triumph
over Kansas City Chiefs
Sadness has happened
in Entertainment
losing people left and right
Diane Ladd
to Diane Keaton
and even
a few more
as the year
starts to end
We lost one pope,
and gained a new,
Francies died,
after Easter,
and the new Pope,
is the first American Pope
The Oscars,
gave us some winners,
and some movies,
I don't remember,
but some,
will carry history,
for some winners,
of different color,
win for wardrobes
The summer heat,
started to show,
by the end of May,
as the warmer it got,
the hotter we felt
Gene Hackman,
found dead,
as he had died,
days before,
was it Carbon Monoxide poisoning,
or something else,
his wife,
and dog,
both deceased,
as another dog,
survives
Ozzy....gone
Ace from Kiss....gone
Malcom "Theo' Jamal Warner...gone
It seems, they come in threes
as I've said before

in 2025
Summer brought us protests
as a president
wants a special birthday
the protesters gathered
as the party weakened
A director,
actor,
and friend of many,
slain,
by his own son,
we mourn ever since,

Holidays combining
from Halloween
to the new year
the closer they seem
the quicker they go
and then...
a new year
arrives
This year
we've seen
plane crashes
costing lives
and we wonder
was 2025 the year
we stop flying airplanes

100 years old
Still with us now
as we finally see
An actor and comedian
make it
to 100
Every year
goes by
in a flash
We try to remember
the good things
but still
some anger
sadness
and much more negativity
is in it
will next year
be better
for us
let's hope so
