1992, I was what eight years old. The movie looked interesting to me, and I did see it in theaters.
A boy named Charlie (played by Joshua Jackson) meets up with Gordon Bombay who ended up being a hockey coach after getting arrested. He also has been dealing with the loss of his father, and also finding out that the opposing coach is his old coach from many years ago. He meets up with a few other people who like to skate. One being an aggressive skater named Fulton. Twins named Jessie and Jussie, a girl who is more a ballerina and many more. It was pretty good, and of course the right team one. They even recruit one of the players on the other team to be a duck.
Then came the second movie. When Emilio's character starts to coach for the minor leagues. The kids, well they get older and I guess they need Bombay again, why? Well they end up becoming a different team, and recruit some new kids (including a young Kenan Thompson) to play against Iceland in the championship game.
Eventually, Goldberg makes a change with goalie in a shootout, making them win the game. Eventually one of the players from Iceland congrats them, and well...that's that. It's been a while since I've seen it and this movie did come around.
And the final one they made in 1996. I don't remember seeing this one much, since I kind of stopped seeing those trilogy movies after second. I should have given it a chance. One of Bombay's friend and mentor dies in this movie.
The even have a new coach that not even Charlie likes. He quits the team, and tries to convince Bombay to come back, but it seems that he takes for an answer. He eventually goes back to the ducks, as well as falling in love with a new girl. He even starts to get along with the new coach.
After the movies ended, Disney decided to do something knew, and it involved using the Mighty Ducks brand. They made it into a cartoon about ducks that fight evil, and play hockey.
There are six ducks, I guess they had seven, and they fight an evil dragon or something. Some of the episodes are worth wtaching, but only lasted one season.
The movies were better, but I guess for me, this show is a guilty pleasure
