Kid friendly family guy
Ok, here's how it goes. First off, there is no family, but Peter and Brian are still in it. Just change their names to Larry, a dufos of a man and Steve a very intelligent k-9 and you get a very interesting show.
Actually this took place around 1997 when Cartoon Network was starting to branch out. To find new animators, they came up with a program called "What a Cartoon!"
They got: Johnny Bravo, Dexter's Laboratory and Powerpuff Girls out of it. But there were some that seemed odd, and others were not worth it. For Larry and Steve....well it was just the beginning.
The similarities are so into the voices as well as adding Easter Eggs. I've seen it before, and well seeing it again recently, the voice talent is amazing. Seth MacFarlane does the voice of both Larry and Steve, and they sound eerily similar to Brian and Peter's voice
Even a pilot has a similar voice to Quagmire's. They mention a place called 'Stewie's' and it seemed there's more.
Larry has the an IQ of a one year old while Steve is very cultural and talented in the arts as well as history. Isn't that eerily similar to another dog and another human being? Well...
Well, before Family Guy came to fox, Seth had a trial run with Larry and Steve. Changing the style as well as Larry's voice. Adding a wife and son. It went ok, but nobody wanted it.
Soon...before 1999, he made a bigger family, and pitched it to a board. They made him do some changes, and them... BOOM! Family Guy was born.
The style was different. The voices were different. Before Mila Kunis, Seth's actual sister voiced Meg. They did a pilot run, and then the actual series premier. And years later... It's till going on.
Did it mean, this all started out from a kids show?
Well Seth did write some episodes for Johnny Bravo before going on his own, so it seemed he was talented in that field.
Amazing to find out how something started from one thing and ended up becoming something different. With the Simpsons, they started as shorts on the Tracy Ullman show.
Well till then, you never know what will surprise you
