*Man landed on the moon
*Woodstock
* Sesame street starts... and so much more.
What was 1969 like?
I wouldn't know. I wasn't born till fifteen years later, but I guess... in my opinion, it was epic.
First off: Man walking on the moon.

50 years later, many people were born around that time said it was one of the most amazing things they have ever seen in history. Buzz Aldrin is still alive, and tells everyone that he went to the moon, but wasn't the first to step foot on it.
The quote: "that's one step for a man, one giant leap for mankind" was used by Neil Armstrong. Ironically you don't hear the word 'a' so people always thought Neil would "THAT'S ONE SMALL STEP FOR MAN"
Michael Collins and Buzz Aldrin are still alive, and in late July this year, they will have the 50th anniversary of man walking on the moon.
Second: Woodstock 1969

Woodstock 99 however, NOTHING LIKE THAT!
What will they do for the 50th, let's hope nothing too extratic, but we'll find out in July.
Final: Sesame Street begins
People weren't ok with having racial issues, like having Muppets look like they are black (African-American)
Big Bird was different looking, Oscar the Grouch was orange, and there were many characters helping kids learn more about life as they get older.
In later years, they brought in other characters to teach the children Healthy eating habits as well as exercising and helping others do well in life.
They even added more puppets that have the same abilities as a child would have. One being HIV positive was a big turn for parents to learn that being HIV positive isn't horrible.
So what, I still will watch it today, even if it went to HBO, it doesn't mean you can't learn anything from it.
Cookie Monster still loves cookies,
Elmo is just a kid at heart, and Big bird will always be my favorite Sesame Street character.
I've read recently about if Bert and Ernie were a gay couple. To me, it doesn't matter they're Muppets and if they are, I'm fine with that. It doesn't change who they are. Not at all.
Recently, the original Big Bird, Caroll Spinney retired as Big Bird and a newbie, name being: Matt Vogel, is now the new Big Bird.
I don't care who is Big Bird, but he is always going to be my favorite.
It has been 50 years and it seems nothing has changed, but a lot. Technology furthered, we are no longer in a grips of Vietnam War, and it seems that...50 years later, 2069, god knows what will happen to us, but we will always remember 1969
