We can call it "vintage", "nostalgic" or even "retro"
What do they mean? Is there a vague difference between one of the other?
It could come from anywhere like: toys, books, movies. Anything can have a vintage quality to it, and how we remember it, it can be very interesting. We can watch old movies, play with our own toys, even have collection beyond collection of stuff in a warehouse somewhere, hiding away everything but the value.
Some vintage toys like: the Easy-Bake Oven, the first Barbie doll, vintage matchbox cars...they can be worth money today for it's nostalgic price.
But it's not just toys or movies, it can be ANYTHING.
Collectors everywhere have old storage house filled with they have been collecting throughout the years. It seems some towns, even in Philly dedicate nostalgia from warehouses to huge floats of vintage toy memorabilia.
Not many people are aware that not only is this stuff worth money, but expensive as well.
There is a difference between vintage and nostalgia. One meaning it has value, as the other has memory.
Nostalgia is memory of something that is no longer around, or they remember from their past.
Vintage is what you still have, and could be worth money. Memories last forever even long after what you have come to love is gone, but if you are a collector (or a hoarder) you would be able to stack vintage things in warehouses like the one in Philadelphia which is called: "American Treasure Tour"
You can find anything at this place. A whole warehouse full of old pianos, doll houses, vintage cars, puppets, and you go on a trolley ride to see through everything in this one man's collection, unknown and still collecting to this day.
Some are player pianos to posters of movies and music. This tour has everything vintage and nostalgic.
So...… is Vintage a good thing, or something that would make us become hoarders? If someone likes to collect, they would do so from the start of childhood, to adulthood.
Is too much vintage a bad thing? Well yes and no. But if it something you admire, it doesn't make it a truly bad thing, but the memories will still be there.
Vintage means-the past and Nostalgia means- the memories of the past.
Side note: America's Treasure Tour has large stuff including the world's largest slinky that has been made into the Guinness Book of world Records.
