Ok here's the thing. I was watching Paddington, the movie where a family adopts a bear and I noticed, Nicole Kidman, who plays the villain is wearing a wig throughout the movie. Is anybody else seeing that?
And it just hit me.
I think they do that to every villain in movies to make them seem eviler. I don't know if that is true, but it's for some reason how, Glenn Close, Joan Cusack and even David Bowie are noticed when they are playing an evil role.
For Joan Cusack in Addam Family Values, it was noticeable. I knew it was not real hair. As if she was trying to put on a great performance at the same time...well you know keeping the wig on. Movie was fine, Joan did an ok job trying to seduce Fester (portrayed by Christopher Lloyd) and she went bat crap crazy trying to kill them all at the end.But her plan was foiled by the baby and she dies, and the wig went with her. LOL
For David Bowie, it's another story in a troubled mind of Jennifer Connelly. Being a girl who doesn't want responsibilities for her baby brother, David Bowie takes the child away to his kingdom. I think the songs are what make the movie memorable, not his toupee hairstyle and maybe something else down below.
Never understood the movie when I was young or today, was it in Jennifer's mind that David was real or just an image?
Glen Close was portraying the evil Cruela De Vile in the remake of 101 Dalmatians. First off, she did ok but the movie did not. I knew she was wearing a wig because she could not pull off that hairdo. Another thing is the acting from this movie went from ok to horrendous depending on who is playing who.
The dogs you rarely see and I feel the focused mostly on Glen and the two bumbling idiots she hired (one portrayed by Hugh Laurie pre House days)
It just wasn't worth it.
Now the reason why I am mentioning this......
Nicole Kidman. She could have been wearing a wig, or her hair was perfect in every scene as she was trying to nab and stuff Paddington. Doing the dirty deed because her father refused to harm any of the bears in Peru.
I don't know but it seemed her hair too perfect in the role, I felt it was indeed a wig.
I don't why villains wear wigs more often than the superhero. Does it make them popular, vicious, or something else? I don't know it's just something I picked up and wanted to nitpick about. Maybe some villains do wear wigs, while others wear long capes, or have an evil mustache. Who know, it's a quirky thing isn't it. Ciao Bloggers
