The Treehouse of Horror that started it all

It's almost that time again from the Simpsons.

The "Treehouse of Horror" stories are starting. They have been getting a little weird with their horror stories but what I want to talk about is the first episode. The one that started the whole story arcs of Treehouse of Horror stories.

It all started in 1990. Bart and Lisa are in a treehouse telling stories, three spooky scary stories that made Simpson history. The first story involves a haunted house that the Simpsons spend a night in and eventually casts a spell on all of them, telling each and every Simpson family member to stab each other to death with knives and shouting "KILL KILL KILL!"
Soon, they break out of the spell and the house chooses to kill itself then live with the Simpson family.

The Second story arc involves the introduction of the space aliens, Kang and Kodos (who will soon be part of every Treehouse of Story arc) abduct the Simpson family and are also introduced to another alien (voiced by James Earl Jones) and are trying to be friendly, but Lisa thinks otherwise. Soon they realize that they were the aliens and the aliens were just trying to be friendly.

And the third is perhaps one of my favorites because Lisa reads the tales of Edgar Allen Poe's "The Raven." James Earl Jones continues with the narration as Homer Simpson portrays the lead as the poem goes on and Bart is the Raven and it ends with the words 'Nevermore.'

Lisa and Bart weren't scared of the last one, but Homer was terrified and cries in his bed shaking.

And that's how it all began. Some of the Treehouse of Horror episodes were somewhat like that a few seasons later. One of the members of the family tells a chilling story that is related to Halloween or an urban legend. But lately, they have been going off to just telling different stories like Dolphins ruling the world or a convicts toupee (placed on Homer's head) will come alive and seek revenge on Bart.

Some episode are good, others I don't care for. They even rip off Stanley Kubrick Movies like "a clockwork orange" (I didn't like that one). Another was Homer becoming death (that was another weak episode) There have been many, many weak Treehouse of Horror episodes reticently but there were three THOH episodes I loved the best.
The Raven is one, the second one is when Homer gets trapped in another dimension; and ends up 3d, soon he ends up in LA (the real world) and my third favorite is four beheadings and a funeral where Lisa Simpson is Sherlock Holmes. Homer Simpson is tried for being a 'jack the ripper' type of killer. Murdering Scotsman woman and being the Mutton chop murderer.

But if it weren't for Lisa and Bart and a treehouse telling stories, this would never have happened. Till then. find your Halloween story to tell, no matter how creepy it would be. Ciao Bloggers.
