how to find a great home, not just on house hunters

I watch this show called House Hunters on HGTV and a lot times, I've noticed some things. For one thing, the house that is for sale (isn't really for sale half the time)

The people that own the house will just let the camera crew and the people that want the house just go in the house and they would care less.

That is true, they still own the house and will just let strangers in just to show off the house on TV.

Sometimes I would question if it is a good idea for someone to let strangers into their house and put it all on TV. But then again, all for the glory. But would not be one of those people that would show off my house. My mom would be embarrassed on how on our house looks and knowing how these houses look, some of them don't look half bad.

The couple usually chooses out of three and sometimes, would get in a compromise and fights as well. One person would want an island kitchen or hardwood floors, but the other person would want a walk in closet or this many bedrooms or a huge backyard. They would bicker on and on. And sometimes, they would have to do some remodeling if they choose that certain house. But they have to be aware of how much are willing to spend.

What would be the perfect house for me? For me, the best home would have hard wood floors, a huge walk in closet in the master bedroom, No carpets or white cabinets in the kitchen. Brown cabinets with granite counter tops and about three bedrooms with two bathrooms. No ugly wall papers, or bathrooms for me to gut and remodel. A fire place of course and huge backyard. I would love a house that would make me enjoy living there everyday.

The rooms in a home people spend the most time in would the kitchen and the bathroom and those are the rooms are most remodeled as well. At our house we had both the kitchen and our bathrooms remodeled and it's been a while and we like it. I'm not a fan of carpet and I just think it would stain easier. I love hardwood floors and I feel they bring a lot of character to a home and the style of home I would always want, well... it depends on where I live. I'm more of a two to three floor home type of person, no ranch styles.

Every time on House Hunters, it would be different. Different houses, different places even different countries. They even gone international and I like that especially when they go to Italy. I love houses that have character no matter where it is, but remember don't judge a house on the outside until you see how see how it looks on the inside.

I'll find my dream home one day, but it has been almost 24 years since I moved here and I know we have made many cosmetic changes to this house, and I like it. Till then, there is no place like home. Ciao Blogges!
