Back to School ads in summer

Yep! It's that horrid time again. It seems after the fourth of July, back to school ads will start to pop up everywhere. How many times? A lot. Why? Well....





I think many teachers, students, and a lot of us that aren't even in school fear that summer is going by way too quickly.


   I have blogged about it a lot of times yes, but when I was a kid, they didn't do this.

  They waited until early August to show the ads where kids jump up wearing backpacks, new clothes and shoes. It seemed stupid, but they didn't do it in early July.

   Teachers fear getting ads from the newspaper or even on TV for what is new for the dorm room as well as the classroom

My mom, who was a teacher, still feels squeamish when she sees an ad in the paper of back to school supplies.


I don't want to bitch about this anymore. All I know is that I know is that we don't even get a grace period anymore with holidays. Even in October, I see people getting Christmas ready with decorations as well as other stuff. Planting fake Christmas trees as well.

   Holidays....LEARN TO TAKE A BREATH and let us enjoy the summer we are trying to have.




   When I was a kid, they gave us a list of what we need for school. They did that in Mid August. Now they're starting to do it my early to Mid July. Well....all I can say is, I feel sorry for every teacher and student going into the next school year.

New K-Pop bands

Ever heard of bands like: BTS, EXO, Girls' Generation?


   Well they are names of bands, K-Pop bands. What does 'K-Pop' and how did it start?



 Well, created by singers in the South Korea region, K-Pop was just another band. But it got bigger around the eighties and nineties.

   It didn't 'really' start until North and South Korea were side by side. It wasn't considered a hit, not until Korean Ballard became a namesake. But how did it make it to Western Civilization?


  Well? How do boy bands, Britney Spears and Christina Agulaira become popular? Well from the start, it was really from the beginning, when they were young.

  Doesn't mean there was a Korean Mickey Mouse club (was there?)


  One of the most famous of the K-Pop bands was named BTS, with many fans swarming America falling in love with seven males from Korea named Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, RM, V and Jungkook. Yes, that's there names.

   What do I think of them? They seem popular, but I don't know many of their songs.

Ever heard of "Gangnam style?" So popular back in the mid 2000's by a singer name Sly, also a K-Pop singer. All I know is that song was.....annoying.




Some famous K-Pop bands aren't all boy bands, but some can be girl pop bands, one in famous is "Twice" a huge female K-Pop band that is very interesting, yet I don't know what they are saying half the time.

   Sometimes K-Pop bands can be questionable on what they are trying to say. Sometimes, they would be bubblegum style pop bands. Talking about...well, sometimes we never know, but we love it either way
  Even Nickelodeon had a TV show that involved a K-pop band. What was their name? "Make it Pop"

  Made in Canada about three girls starting out their own K-Pop band, I think. It was ok, more fore kids.


Another show, even it was more Japanese punk rock, it somewhat felt as if it was K-pop.

Two singers named Ami and Yumi are considered cartoon characters that play Japanese rock, have also a hilarious cartoon, at the time. I used to watch it, but is Japanese Rock like K-Pop? No, not only are they from two different parts of the world, and somewhat sound similar, it doesn't mean they are the same.




                K-Pop is here to stay, like grunge rock, pop music and even oldies. It is an interesting style of music with lyrics we don't understand, but within the years to come, we've learned to understand it, even if it is still new to us, it has been with us for a long time, and is here to stay

Canada Day

 Every 4th of July, we celebrate America's birth and independence.


    Being somewhat Canadian, on my father's side, today is Canada day.

Started around 1867, on the first day of July Canada celebrate it's independence or as they call it:
  Fete du Canada




  I celebrate Canada once in a while. It's already 152 years old today. On the 150th Anniversary, most of Canada had a huge celebration in every part of Canada Providence



There are many famous Canadians from acting to singing.

   Some from British Columbia, Nova Scotia, Ottawa... many parts.

Jim Carey, Dan Aykroyd, Martin Short, Michael Cera, Ellen Page, Michael J. Fox, James Cameron, Mike Myers, Ryan Gosling, Howie Mandel, Joshua Jackson and many more.


   My dad's family is from Ottawa, and some are from Nova Scotia. They are still there today (some of them)
  My late aunt, my dad's sister, was born in Ottawa.

  It's nice there, but I've been to Nova Scotia more.
