Charmin commercial past and future

I know, I know... this is weird that I am talking about toilet paper but believe me. Seeing nothing but bears talking about going to the bathroom, and not using the woods is so dumb, that I wonder if Mr. Whipple is rolling in his grave.

Who is, or was Mr. Whipple? Well it all started when Charmin was bringing out it's toilet paper and how squeezably soft it really was, they brought in a man, played by the late John Chervokas, portraying him in the 1970's.

He was always called, Mr. Whipple and would go around many grocery stores telling women "Not to squeeze the Charmin.", but they wouldn't listen, and eventually he would end up squeezing it as well, proving that they were right all along.

He did some more interesting Charmin videos from the 1970s to mid 90s when he left because he got sick. Then he did one more and left for good and passed away with a Charmin in his hand.

I felt after that, Charmin commercials were never the same anymore. All they had were bears explaining how great and soft Charmin was. I don't know who thought it would be great to bring bears into a Charmin commercial, but it seemed to have worked for them. For me, I think the old vintage, Mr. Whipple ones are the ones I remember the most. I don't of bears when I think of Charmin, I want to think of how great the product is by squeezing it, but then again, I don't use Charmin, I just remember the old commercials that my family grew up with.

My nana used Charmin a lot and I couldn't stand it because of well... I'm not gonna explain but now marketing is going crazy with making products kid friendly or creepy looking for the masses.

They used to have a friendly looking Trix rabbit and Lucky Charm fella but now, they are nightmares to stare at. The marketing department must have gotten lazier, I doubt a kid would want to look at a Trix cereal box now and eat it because of the image of a frightening rabbit.
Even if they are saying they're using a real rabbit on their box, it's not gonna change anything, but it wouldn't hurt their marketing sales.

Marketing, you can't always think that a bear will be the best answer, in my opinion, it's kind of creepy. The same way bringing Corneal Sanders from the dead to sell KFC chicken is. Till then, enjoy not squeezing the Charmin and remember a great man named Mr. Whipple is trying not to squeeze clouds in the sky.

Whatever Charmin does, don't bring him back from the dead. But find a better way to make a better commercial. Ciao for now Bloggers and don't squeeze the Charmin.

Not that there's anything wrong with that

This episode involves Jerry 'coming out' or so he, in the newspaper, thinks. But this brings out the greatest catchphrase: "Not that there's anything wrong with that" which brings out that it's ok to be gay.

A woman from a newspaper that is interviewing for a New York news paper thinks George and Jerry are both homosexuals. She was ease dropping on Jerry's conversation at the coffee shop and Elaine brought it out.

However, because of a bad birthday gift Kramer gave a two way line phone and she heard a conversation that she wasn't supposed to hear.

What's worse was, when it came to paper, George's mother read it and ended up in the hospital.
It seemed 'Seinfeld' was getting away with a lot in their forth season, and this was one of them along with another episode which involved George 'you know what' that caused his mother going to the hospital because of it.

But Seinfeld gave us a lot of amazing catchphrases that will stay with us for ages even if it has been off the air since 1998.

 Such as:
* They're real and they're spectacular
* Shrinkage/I was in the pool
* These pretzels are making me thirsty
* Serenity Now!
* Maybe the dingo ate your baby
and so many wonderful quotes.

But this one is one that is tattooed on our brains for a reason. Because we don't who we are, when it's love that matters most. Seinfeld taught us that. I respect people by who they are deep down. If they have a different race, gender, sex life, it doesn't matter. As long as we treat them as a human being, that's what matters most.

Seinfeld maybe gone, but the repeats will stay in our mind and we know we can take what we have learned from the stupidity of the characters and remember that "we are only human, and we make mistakes, and just because we make mistakes doesn't mean we are trying to better ourselves everyday."

I have many friends that have opened up about their relationships and I'm happy for them. For me, I'm happy for who I am. And for anyone who is gay or a lesbian, there is nothing wrong with that indeed. Thank you, Seinfeld. Ciao Bloggers!

How truely smart is Barney Gumble????

Yes I'm being serious this time. I've watched recent episodes of the Simpsons (not the new ones, just old ones over and over again) and noticed something interesting.

Barney Gumble might be a Genius.

However, I still feel that Barney is a genius in his own way. In a few episodes, he gave up drinking and went on to drinking coffee instead. Although hooked, it seemed he was showing more signs of intelligence until he went back to drinking beer again.

Not every Simpson episode shows Barney as being stupid. Of course he's drunk but, he starts to take helicopter flying lessons and he even won a film award for showing his life on drinking and wanting to quit so badly.

He a drunk, huggable teddy bear, who wants to stop and tell himself, "when will he become smart again"

With the new episodes, not being great and all, we don't see much of Barney (unless he's at Moe's tying one over) But the smart side is somewhat there and it wasn't for that first beer Homer gave him when he was a kid, who knows what would have happened. He even had a chance to go into outer space with Buzz Aldrin, but sadly was unable too because of thinking champagne he was drinking was alcoholic when in reality, it wasn't.

I don't find any intelligence left in Barney, but like I said before, you never know what could have happened, and he has tried, even the voice actor who is the complete opposite of bother Homer and Barney, to go through the 12 steps and quit drinking.

But don't cry for him, he's already dead, and deep down, the past cannot comeback to save him of his alcoholism. Even if he is only a cartoon character. Barney will always be a lovable drunk from Springfield.

Superbowl 51

Atlanta vs New England. Who would I choose??? No contest. I don't even care for these teams but I have no choice. Living with a sports loving family, I'm going with Atlanta.

Why??? I'M SICK OF THE PATRIOTS WINNING (or cheating) Atlanta Falcons have never won, but they have been to the Super Bowl but they have never won.

Like the Philadelphia Eagles, they have too been in the Super Bowl, But never won. There is also another reason and his name is Matt Ryan.

He lives in Exton, PA and that would be a great reason to see a winning team in Pennsylvania. He has been the talk of Eastern PA and we are hoping for a miracle here. The miracle of Matt Ryan.

Another reason we are hyped about this is not only of those insane expensive commercials, is that Lady Gaga will be the Half Time Show. She's fine and all but I've looked back at many great half time performances like the late Prince, late Michael Jackson, Bruce Springsteen, Bon Jovi and so many. I wonder how she will do. We've seen horrible half time performances like Madonna, Beyoncé... I don't want to name many to step on their toes but they weren't great.

The commercials, promising won't be best. Doritos, Skittles, Snickers, Beer commercials try to be selling their products when all they're doing is using celebrity endorsements and promoting cash grabbing, waste of an ad space. But it works and they do it every year.

Some of the advertisements are actually down right pretty creepy, and I doubt they are going to sell anything but scare people from Steven Tyler skittles to a half breaded baby/monkey whatever selling a drink. That doesn't help, it just hurts.

Also movies climb aboard the wagon, showing off their previews. Will their movies be any good? Don't know. I usually wait until it's available on demand or Netflix.

The East Coast has a hard decision to make. Although some people know the Patriots will win, it doesn't mean that the Falcons will try their hardest to kick their ass. Whatever happens, it'll be a great game, and I am happy. Good luck Falcons. You made it to the Super Bowl.

Let's get ready to rumble! Ciao Bloggers!
