when is the "15 minutes of fame" really 15 minutes of fame?

Why am I blogging about this?

Well we have all heard about Bruce Jenner's sex change and the Kardashians and so much happening in the entertainment world it is now sickening.

I just don't wanna hear about it anymore.
I feel like they are stretching out their "15 minutes of fame" to more than about a year.

I don't wanna deal with Kanye West's bull crap on how he's the greatest rapper on Earth and is making others feel as if they are nothing.
I think he is nothing more than TRASH!

And looking at millionaires and their huge homes, I just wonder, what are they doing for a living, and are they giving any to charity?
If I had that kind of money, believe me, I would donating it to charity than spending it making my house look like a rich celebrity house for my 15 minutes of fame. When do you know, that it is dying down? Well remember the ice bucket challenge for a CHARITY? No one is doing it anymore.

It was so popular and now, it's just, nothing. No one even wants to deal with fads these days as much as they were a popular thing in the late 90's early 2000's, now it's just no longer there. Everyone is on their Facebook accounts trying to take a picture of themselves and post it, trying to get a lot of likes.

Ken Jennings, the guy who was on Jeopardy of almost 3 months, had his 15 minutes of fame and people were just about getting sick and tired of him. Now, he's just not around much anymore (but at least he is giving some of his money to charity)

If I was rich and famous, I would give my money to charity. Like "stroke survivor awareness" "animal shelters" and "ovarian cancer research" I really miss my aunt and I love her.

We all have our 15 minutes of fame, but fame does come with a price. That's what I say.
I think it's best to know when we tire of something, and know it is time to ignore it, like that "Where's the Beef" commercial or the "Microsoft" commercial from 1984 where the woman threw the hammer at the big screen ala 1984.

Even though it's no longer there, we will always remember it. 15 minutes of fame or not, it will always be there and will never die. Just like the Kardashians, they will soon disappear from the Media attention and will always be in our memory. Ciao Bloggers.

Get out the grill....

It's that time of month now....

School is about to end, and the summer is going to be upon us.

And so will the grills. Mostly I'm not big on grilling in the backyard, but it's somewhat a tradition in households from Memorial day to Labor day to be outside in the sun and grill burgers, hotdogs and even chicken.

Some people are even grilling corn and vegetables in the summer, but what is it with the secrets of summer and a barbecue that make it one and one? Is it the aroma of the summer grass and the charcoals on the grill being lit as we enjoy one another's company and know that summer comes once every couple of weeks and then poof....
   gone.

For some reason, it seems the magic of summer is within the backyard barbecues that we have, and the fourth of july and memorial day barbecue are one of the most popular days to put the hamburger and the hot dog on the grill.

Fourth of July is also the biggest day of eating hot dogs. In Nathans in Coney Island, New York, there is a hot dog eating contest that goes on every Fourth of July. Where people go to goruge out on Hot Dogs until their stomachs explode. And one person walks out with the mustard colored belt.

Summer is here of course and when I smell a grilled hot dog and corn on the cob is there and people are enjoying each other's company, I know summer is here.
Image result for grilling burgers and hotdogs  We grill mostly in the summer and sometimes other seasons, we don't use charcoal we use propane, since propane heats quicker and is a more popular way to grill your burgers weather it's a meat burger or a veggie burger. I have tried a veggie burger and it's ok, I have even tried a turkey dog, but it's not as good as I thought it would be.

Enjoy having your grill turned on constantly all summer and enjoy what is left of it, because we had to hibernate it all winter. Till then, enjoy the rest of Spring. Ciao Bloggers. Grill away

Is it june almost?

Yes it feels like Summer, but it's not even the end of Spring.

It seems as if I just blinked and it was June. I Missed half of the year already, Spring is about gone, thank god Winter is.

   Valentine's Day,
Mothers Day,
   Easter....

KAPOOT

I don't what to do. Just Pause and pray that it will all go away, but no.... I think it we just have to accept that the fact that Summer will be here and that we will enjoy what comes with it. Summer vacations, drinks, Jimmy Buffett music and much much more.

The Sand, the surf the fun, the enjoyment....
we need it. We were sick of so much snow, but soon...

will we regret it? with all the heat of the sun and storm after storm of lightning, rain and thunder?

Now I'm just going to enjoy June, also realizing I've been 30 for half of this year. My god I'm old.
Image result for June is here

Enjoying all the fun June has to offer, we have to think about what we are going to expect, kids done school and camps, summers of boredom and what they want to do. Some take jobs in the summer while others enjoy their fun with camp activities so they won't bug their parents.

For some, they still have to work, while others, just enjoy the fun... I will enjoy mine no matter what happens. June will come and go like all the other seasons and believe me, I'm going to enjoy what's left of this summer. Because it will be a long one this year. Till then, enjoy your ice creams, beach parties and fun in the sun. So will I. Ciao Bloggers!

Ooodles of Noodles

  Noodles Noodles galore.

I grew up eating mostly Chef boy-ar-Dee and spaghettios, but when I got older, I got out of my spaghettio phases and enjoyed more spaghetti and rigatoni and other pastas that were very good. Mostly the Italian verity.

I've also learned that Marco Polo did NOT discover noodles. There is a different story about that. Noodles were mostly discovered in Asia and somehow made it their own in Italy and Italians have fallen in love with Spaghetti, linguini, rigatoni, Lasagna what not.

Living with an Italian family... I've learned to make my own pasta sauce (thank you mom) and we've also learned how to make our own pasta.

My mom learned from her mother and she learned from hers... so on and so forth.

Pasta {or noodles} come in different styles and made in different ways. Some are even becoming gluten intolerant and even healthier. Some even use beets and spinach to flavor the pasta, and they did that for the colors of the Italian flag.

The Asian style noodles are made differently. They are made from rice and thinner than Italian style pasta. They have a Chinese, Korean and Ramen style. Ramen noodle is very common for every college student that needs a quick pick me up when the are studying for a final. Just take it out, add water and put it in the microwave.

I'm more into the Italian style of pasta making. Growing up with an Italian family and having experience on making great pasta sauce helps all the time. Many people are going for the canned pasta and jarred sauce verities. We don't (or I don't) I would love to tell you my pasta sauce secrets but then I would have to kill you. It's secret of course.

If you had a love for noodles, pasta what not, you would know how far it got from being a grain to a long noodle enjoyed by all at lunch, dinner even breakfast. Some people have Ramen noodles for breakfast. Interesting as that sounds. I pick spaghetti or lasagna my two favorite pasta dishes. It takes a while to make pasta and many companies these days are going with the oven ready lasagna noodle varieties. I'm not like that. I love to put the noodles in the pot, then put it in the oven. They're even making on the go pasta dishes, not my style but if you're on the go, they're just right for you.

Pasts companies are doing many things to make their pasta better and healthier for everyone, from making it gluten free to whole grain white, whatever they can do to make their customers happy.

I guess we are trying to be healthier even when it means eating our pastas, and getting exercise since pasta is full of carbs. Enjoy your noodles while you can and believe me you can find many Macaroni and Cheese restaurants now a days if you set foot in New York City. They are popping up everywhere. I'm not a Mac and Cheese fan, but these places go beyond the blue Kraft box.

Till then, enjoy your noodles and remember the history behind it. Ciao Bloggers. Manja!

going bad to worse.... tv show wise

Saw a preview for a new show called  Bordertown. Looked interesting, till I saw the preview.

What the hell were they thinking??? There is something wrong with some tv shows these days. They just don't known when either enough is enough, to stop a beating a horse when it's practically dead.

What I men is the genius of Seth McFarlane. He's ok and all. He has great ideas like Family Guy (When it started) and he also gave us Ted.

But he just has to stop. This show is not funny, not talent, not well written. It's like Bob's Burgers but worse. Why?

Well even though Hank Azaria is voicing in it doesn't make it any better, it's just not worth seeing.

And for other Seth McFarlane shows like American Dad and the Family Guy we have now, are pure GARBAGE!

How can something you don't like go from bad to WORSE???

A movie portrayal with cowboys in a movie called "100 ways to die the west." It wasn't funny as Ted was, and I don't know if Ted 2 is going to be enjoyable either, but one problem at a time.

Image result for beating a dead horse gif   Even some segments in Family Guy are getting stupider, especially so chicken fight scenes where Peter and this big ass chicken get in a fight with each other for no reason. And making Meg feel as if she's going to Rambo if people (mostly Peter) make fun of her.
The jokes are stale and old, and some of them are pretty harsh. It's not funny. and It's getting old and they have to cancel. It's just not funny anymore, Seth, and I know he survived 9/11, but does he have to keep making jokes about it on family guy?

If you want to see (I bet short lived) series, go ahead and enjoy it, but in my opinion (along with Tosh.0 and other crap that's on TV that isn't funny) they have to die (or in other words, pull the plug) Ciao Bloggers.

Summer so soon....

It feels so hot, and I can't believe I'm saying this but...

It feels like Summer, not Spring. I know it's only mother's day but is this the start of summer now, the official start?
I know that Memorial day is the official start of the Summer season, but it feels that Spring hasn't shown itself this season since we had a very long winter, so are we do to have a long summer.

    Dealing with heat,
  the crowded pools,
the burning of the sunrays to our skin as we fry to death?

I don't know why but I feel as if that we don't have any choice but to deal with the heat.

Kids will be done school soon and teachers will have to finish their teaching for one year, but for others that don't get a summer vacation, they still have to suffer with the heat.

I've already seen two summer commercials and there are fourth of July stuff out in stores. Summer will come and then go so quick in a blink of an eye. Enjoy it because when Labor day comes, it's officially over.

Happy mother's day to all the mother, grandmothers, godmothers, step-mothers mothers-in-law and daughters

Till then catch Spring Fever while you can because these seasons are going by in a blink of an eye.

May the 4th be with you

Today is Star Wars day a day where Star wars Fans would always quote, "May the Force be with you"
Well now it's "MAY THE FOURTH BE WITH YOU"

Because it's not only the 4th of may it is only a day of month but it's a day where Star Wars fans like me will quote many famous lines like:

   "I am your father"
"Obe Wan Kanobi, you are my only hope"
"He is more man now than machine"
"Do or do not there is no try"

So many famous lines from a movie over 40 years in the making. Near their 40th anniversary and the new version coming out around my birthday, which I don't mind seeing... It keeps me wondering... how much longer can Obi Wan, Luke, Chewbaka and Princess Leah last. Harrison Ford suffered an accident in the new movie, but he's ok now.
Carrie Fisher admits having the slutty slave suit she war in Return of the Jedi. It doesn't fit her anymore but she brags about wearing it.

Mark Hamill, now voice acting is best as both a hero and a villain. Voicing the Joker in the classic Batman the Animated Series.

In 1977 he was in a car crash and almost didn't survive, but did, and well, almost 38 years later.... a new crew has emerged.

Since Disney took over we don't know what will happen, but be for sure this is one movie that hopefully will not be brining back Jar Jar Binks. My least favoriate character. My most favorite character tie between Han Solo and Darth Vader. Just into the bad guys I guess. But I know that I will always be a fan of the original Star Wars. The redone or "other versions" are ok but aren't.

The first two were just horrific, but the third where Anakin becomes Darth Vader.... I liked a lot.

So for the new movie, hopefully it will be good. But for now. MAY THE FOURTH BE WITH YOU!
