Tv Shows,
Movie theaters were everywhere back in the day. From the 50's when movie theaters were just drive-in where you could put a speaker near the car and hear the audio while watching on a huge screen outside. Those days are long gone.
Seeing a movie in 3D was pretty cool and a new technical inspiration back in the 80's and 90's. When the 80's were around, 3D wasn't really strong. Seeing something pop off the screen. The first 3D in a movie theater was back in 1953 while using 3D glasses and watching pop up off the screen.
Now, with the rise of streaming sites, movie theaters have taken a back seat to viewing pleasure. There are some that are still around, but it seems they haven't been has popular since the pandemic hit in 2020. That's when I stopped going to movie theaters.
Some theaters are now including food with their movie. So you don't have to just get popcorn and soda. Although, I do get candy. You can request a meal like nachos or pizza or even fried chicken. They would bring it to you before the movie starts. But, you think hearing people masticating on food is a good thing? Wouldn't you rather hear the movie? Well, it's still an enjoyable experience.
Huge screens, like in IMAX, can really cause headaches, or even seizures. Well not to everyone, but to me. Seeing a movie in a big screen would also have huge effects and loudspeakers in the back. Seeing a movie in a screen that huge, I guess it depends on the movie. Something like a Marvel movie or even Star Wars is worth to see in a screen that big.
But now, I fear with streaming sites becoming popular, the fate of the movie theater is hanging on by a thread. With the threat of not only the pandemic causing theaters to close, but there are other reasons. A lot of people don't really enjoy going to movie theaters. Some even don't go to malls anymore. With different taste in people's interests, as well as the rise of streaming sites and the internet, the movie theaters seem to be struggling for cash.
Now many theaters have closed permanently. It's hard with the economy the way it is. Everyone is struggling. Nobody wants to see a movie unless it's on a streaming site like Netflix, Paramount+, HBO Max, Disney+ and many more. I fear the theaters are going to go the way of video stars like Blockbuster in the near future.
Nobody knows what the future of the movie theaters will be like. Even Amazon has a streaming site called Amazon Prime. No one knows what the future holds for movie theaters. They might go the way of Blockbuster, or stay and try to make their screens bigger, brighter and better. AMC, Regal and other theater companies are still holding strong, but for how long? No one knows.
Born Robert Allen Zimmerman, Bob Dylan is known for many of his great music, and also his past. With his birthday about to approach, it's best to learn about Dylan though his music and his past. Bob Dylan, or as a friend of my uncle likes to call him 'Stinky Dylan'
Dylan was born in Minnesota and was raised by his paternal grandparents. He had a close-knit Jewish family thanks to his father. His father contracted polio when Bob Dylan was six years old. He started performing with bands in high school where he started his love with music.
Dropping out of College, Bob Dylan would travel through New York City. He wrote that the songs that would inspire generations of music lovers. With the help of inspiration from late Woody Guthire. He eventually made a record deal by the time the 60's came around.
In the 80's, he created the never-ending tour which had over 3,000 shows. Playing his 3,000 show in 2019. It's still going strong, but since the pandemic, it hasn't been going as strongly as he wanted to. Having bandmates like Tony Garner and Charlie Sexton by his side. They would perform some of his famous songs.
There are many famous songs of Bob Dylan that are known. Some like 'Blowin' in the wind", "Rita May", "Spirit in the Water", "I shall be Free", "Don't think twice, it's all right.", "Freight train blues" and many more that are memorable as the artist himself. He also had a few romances that worked out and went south.
There has been word of a biopic of the life of Bob Dylan with Timothee Chalamene starring as a young Bob Dylan and his rise to fame. Would I see it....hell yeah. Not only do I like Timothee Chalamene, but I am a fam of Bob Dylan music. I guess I get it from my father who also loved Dylan music as well as Springsteen and many more.
Having a birthday this Wednesday, Bob Dylan has been in the business for over fifty years, almost sixty now, it seems he is still going strong. Having not only a life full of sadness, but also a life that is filled with music as well as welding and painting. He is known for his creative side, and not just in music. His paintings have been sold to various people and celebrities like Pierce Brosnan.
Turing 82 this coming week won't stop him from what he loves to do. Bob Dylan is still making music with a new album coming out as well. Wishing Bob Dylan a happy birthday with a life well achieved. Enjoy his music and his art while you still can.
Many people know Tom Hanks for his films like 'Forrest Gump', 'Apollo 13', 'Big', 'Turner and Hooch' and many more. But there are some films that you might be aware of that he starred in. One of them was a pretty comedy-thriller about a suburb with suspicious neighbors called... 'The Burbs'
Tom Hanks character, named Ray, has a friend who believes the new neighbors were responsible for their neighbor's disappearance as well as the people who previously lived in that house. Wanting to not overreact, he decides to find some clues. Carrie Fisher plays his wife who believes he has an overactive imagination and needs some well deserved sleep.
The house with the new neighbors is decerped, old and even falling apart. It's a house with history inside as well as the outside. Tom, Bruce and a third friend decide to investigate the house after seeing people living inside it. After an old neighbor named Walter's toupee is found in their house, they think he was taken by the new neighbors and vanished,
Eventually Carrie's character and another wife decide to end their husbands snooping around, they decide to introduce themselves. Three people are living in the house. One of the portrayed by Henry Gibson who is a doctor, but he also is hiding something dark. After the visit, Ray decides to stop snooping around for his wife's sake, only to lie when she and his son go out for a weekend alone
Finding out more when venturing in the basement, Ray figures out that their grouchy old neighbor, as well as the original owners of the house, are buried either outside or in their basement. They check the basement and find things that should has stayed buried. Having the old house explode and Ray surviving, they soon find out that their old neighbor was ok. He had a minor heart problem and had to go to the hospital.
Ray gets in a lot of trouble, fighting over his friend for what happened, losing his eyesight and not only having to go to the hospital, but maybe jail, Ray decides to give up. However...Henry Gibson's character reveals a dark truth that he indeed killed the recent owners of the house when they didn't want to sell.
He threatens to kill Ray, but he's saved by a stroke of luck, and skeletons in the trunk of Henry Gibson's car.
So why is this movie underrated while all other Tom Hanks films are more known than this one? Some moves from major stars become a hit while others stay unknown, but I feel now this underrated comedic horror film is starting to show its side and fame. No, it won't have funko statues of the characters in the movie, but you can see how this movie is becoming more known today thanks to the internet and Nostalgia coming back. I think this underrated classic is worth the watch.
Ever had a candy you crave every day? Ok maybe not every day, but you enjoy. Don't you ever wonder how it got it's name as well as how it came to be. With this candy, it's not chocolate, but it's a solid and chewy at the same time.
They were originally called Opal Fruits back in the UK. The original flavors at the time were strawberry, cherry, lemon and orange. They came to the US with a different name soon coming up with "Starburst" the chewy hard candy. I love the strawberry flavor the most and I dislike lemon.
They eventually came out with different flavors through out the year. Tropical, all red with not only cherry and strawberry, but watermelon and fruit punch flavors as well. There's also a duo flavor where one flavor is mixed with another. There used to also be a lime flavor until it was discontinued.
Starburst became more popular that it started to expand to lollipops, hard candies and recently gummy Starburst. I think I'll stick to regular. No offense and all, but having the classic starburst with those four flavors (three for me) is what I like the most. They even have one that is like the gummy Starbursts, but they're called air puffs.
Sadly, there have been discontinued items of Starburst like Fruit twist. Think of twizzles with Starburst flavors. I think there were other flavors as well as hard candy editions of Starburst that just didn't hit with markets. I think they got rid of the fruit twists because Twizzles paid the Mars company to discontinue the product.
Their Starburst ads were pretty weird around the 2000's. One of them was the most annoying one it became popular in YouTube and media itself. It's about two teens talking about a Berries and Cream flavored Starburst. Suddenly, a young boy dressed in 1600's style clothing comes over and well...you have to see the ad, because if I explain it, it'll be in my head forever. But it annoyed a shit ton of people.
I feel the Starburst ads are similar to Skittles like a Scottish-Asian man explaining about contradictions having Starburst be both hard and juicy.
Starbursts are here to stay that's for sure. I like them, mostly the original flavor. They might change it in the future, discontinue some and even make different flavors. But hopefully they don't make stupider commercials. Even Skittles is going the route of stupidity when it comes to their ads as well. Till then, enjoy a Starburst and feel it being hard and chewy at the same time.
Today we celebrate a birth of an actor who has been in many films. Mostly drama or romance, and doesn't look as if he had aged since. There's brilliance in people that never age. I don't age, and I'm already 38. Let's look at George Clooney and his amazing life.
Born George Timothy Clooney in 1961, his mother was a beauty queen and a council woman while his father was an anchorman in Lexington, Kentucky which is where George was born. He even has an older sister named Ada.
He didn't get famous overnight, they just moved from state to state due to George's father's job. They've been from Cincinatti, even Columbus and other towns in Kentucky. His father job made him and his sister change schools constantly.
I don't know when George got his actual start, but the first time he was seen on TV was the Facts of Life and Golden girls. In Golden Girls, he played a detective that was helping a lieutenant out with a couple of jewel thieves that were living next to the four women in Miami. His character gets shot but survives.
In the 90's, he was mostly known for one TV drama that made his career exceed. Playing a doctor named Dr. Ross on the hit NBC show ER. He was on the air for...I forget how long, but many years. He left the show in 2009 to pursue a movie career. He even guest starred as that exact character in an episode of Friends.
Ever heard of Attack of the Killer Tomatoes? Well, nobody has since it was considered a forgetful film. What isn't forgetful was that it was George Clooney first movie role. I don't even remember it at all. It was one of those.... forgetful movies
Clooney has gone on many dates, but he is now happily married. He used to date Kelly Preston, god rest her soul, for a few years before they went their separate ways. He even purchased a Vietnamize pot-bellied pig for almost 18 years until it died. He was also in relationships with Charize Theron and Cameron Diez, but they didn't work out. He is now married to a woman named Amal.
George Clooney's father is still alive and the relationship he has with him is pretty strong. It was because of his father they had to move from state to state. They both are Cincinatti Red fans as well as Bangles for spending most of their life in Cincinatti.
George Clooney has been through a lot in his life. Even survivng a serious motorcycle accident when he was in Jersey back in 2007. He is trying his hardest to support banning of guns with the March for our Lives ever since there have been many violent school shootings in America. He even is a supporter of gay rights.
He may be 62 years old today, but it doesn't mean he has done a lot with his life. From acting to political help, he even has a commercial for coffee once in a while when he joined Danny DeVito. I forget what year it was. George Clooney is unstoppable. Have a happy birthday
