Televison becomes obsolete

Has anybody been watching actual tv lately? I mean real tv?

It's been a long time for some of us, and for others, they only watch stuff on their stuff from DVR from Verison. Does it mean streaming shows are replacing tv once and for all?

The first time there was a tv was around the 1920s or 1930s give or take. Not many people had a tv since it was first discovered. Most of them showed black and white pictures and had a few channels. Not a lot for what we are given today. Now....it feels as if, we don't need it. When did this start, and what will happen to the tv in the future?

Tv was everywhere for us when we were little kids. We would stay glued to the tv watching our favorite shows. And if we didn't get to see our shows, we would use a video cassete to tape them. Those were the good old days. What ever happened to that? Well...VCR's are obsolete.

We later got Tivo, which was a craze for the late 90's and technology started to further, even giving us a 3D experience. And even TV's started listening to the sound of our voices with a remote transmitter. But does it mean...it's over?

With the start of Netflix...starting in 1997. It was only a small company that was selling DVDs in a redbox. But now, It's a global company creating it's own shows like Stranger Things, Bidgerton, The Queen's Gambit, and much more.

And then.... more companies became their streaming services. Like:

Disney+. I've talked about that streaming service before, so I'll keep it brief. With the growing popularity of Netflix, you wouldn't be able to get much, so some broadcast companies started their own. Disney+ being one of them. They would have Disney shows, old movies, programing from Fox network and much more.

Hulu was another. Starting ten years after Netflix was born. It too had verities of shows. Their own as well. Sadly, I don't have Hulu and want it since they have brought back Animaniacs and it's only available through Hulu.

There are so many streaming sites out there. Some that are free, and some you would have to pay for. For me. I have Amazon Prime where I could watch shows that I could either purchase or get free on prime. I have purchased a few shows, but not many. Mostly Castle and Big Bang Theory. I try not to buy any movies, but at other times, I would wait for it to be free.

Recently, we got HBO Max which came out in 2020. It has a varity of Movies as well as TV shows all free. I have seen some shows that I like for fun, and also movies that are avilibe on the site. Even with movies on the big screen, you can get it on HBO Max as well. So it feels not only TV might be obsolete, but Movie theaters as well.

So is this the end for TV? Are Streaming becoming the new norm? and how long will that last? With more streaming sites popping up like Discovery+ as well as Paramount+. it seems tv is just only there, not to entertain us when we don't have a streaming site, but it seems it's not worth having in the house.

It doesn't mean you should go and throw out your tv. You can still use it for your streaming sites. If you have a smart tv, it would be helpful to get a remote that has a Netflix, Hulu and other streaming sites button. You could watch your streaming shows on your TV and not just on your laptop or smartphone

And that's where the smart tv came in. Technology is getting stronger on creating things that some of us can't afford, And if they can, you would have to find a way to hook up everything, get all your streaming sites situated (some smart tv's have it installed already) And get everything you need. So...tv is still around, but if you have an old one that isn't a smart tv. Chuck it.

Everything is getting smarter, and old things are getting replaced. If you don't have a smart tv, streaming sites won't work, or will freeze if you have them. Tv isn't obsolete yet, but with streaming sites becoming the new thing, technology will go future before we become obsolete.
