WHY REBOOT MOVIES AND TV????
I have a feeling some writers are just giving up, throwing in the towel, and it's just not right anymore.
Now I've heard they might reboot some new ideas for a few tv shows. Is it just me? I feel if I were writing, I'd write something new, such as a new tv show that wouldn't fail, maybe even a great movie that was based on a book.
I'm not talking about Stephen King, but well, this is it...
It seems writing is becoming less useful if you reboot old stories.
Some people even have ideas of bringing the 1980 movies to life once again. NOT A SMART IDEA!!!
First off, they've tried that with Adventure in Babysitting.
The 1980's version had Elisabeth Shue, Keith Coogan, and one hell of an adventure to try to find a friend lost in the city before the parents get home.
This one, well, it was just crap. Like that I mean, even some studio ideas were thinking of rebooting other 80s movies, like Breakfast Club, Howard the Duck (I would care less for that) Flash Gordon, Private Benjamin, you name it, a lot.
And don't get me started on TV... Ok I'll bitch about it. First off, they brought back:
Will n Grace. OK, I don't watch the show, so I can't say anything negative about this one.
Full House on Netflix which they renamed "Fuller House" First off, it's the same thing over again, but it's DJ, who lost her husband in a plane crash, (semi-ironic) raises three BOYS and has her friend Kimmy and Sister Stephanie to fill in as the Joey and Jesse of the Full house.
I can feel the "ooohhh" in a negative way for this one. They even rebooted…..
ROSANNE.
First off, not a fan of Rosanne or the show. Some of the actors from it, like John Goodman, Sara Gilbert, Johnny Galeki and even Lauren Metcalf, I like.
But you throw in Trump liking, which Rosanne likes. She's pro-Trump, it's not right.
They even remaid:
-Lost In Space (which is actually pretty good, even better than the 1960s and even the movie)
-Twin Peeks (never seen the show)
-Queer eye (same concept, different people, looks ok)
-American Idol (which is not doing well, and might not last)
and even X-Files
Even Cartoons don't get a break anymore.
I mean we already have some reboots, and others waiting to happen.
First off, I already told you about the Hey Arnold Jungle movie. I LOVED IT! It was a reboot yes, there were different voice acting, and even, finally, we find out what happened to Arnold's Parents. I loved it, I really did..
But now... Negativity.
Powerpuff Girls today. I'd rather see the original. No twerking, no high school drama (weren't they in pre-school?) and even now, they have a forth? Didn't they do that in the original? I don't care for it.
Rugrats had a reboot, unfortunately, for the love of god, it sucked. They're grown up. Teenagers, even talking. That wasn't the Rugrats I grew up with. The ones I grew up with were babies, and even funny. Until Dil came along and I gave up.
Teen Tiatns Go!, I don't know what that is, but they made a great cartoon into something I don't like. Psychotic, gross and what the f**k.
Ben 10, Animaniacs (will be rebooted), Scooby Doo (OVER, AND OVER), Jetsons, Dexter (maybe), the list will go on, weather we like it or not, but there is a silver lining.
First off, not every reboot of a classic cartoon will be negative.
There was of course, my two favorites...
Rocko's Modern Life (Which will be getting a special) about the future and how: "the future is a very dangerous future"
They find out more about their town, how it has changed, for the better and the worst.
It will be called "Rocko's modern life: Static Cling"
Another I want to talk about:
DUCKTALES.
First off, I wasn't a big fan of it as I was with Darkwing Duck (also getting a reboot) and Chip n Dale's rescue rangers.
This one though, I'm pleased with. I actually it's good. Even the voice acting has changed (Alan Young is gone and Russi Taylor isn't there)
The charaters are still them zany selves. They modernized it to be what it is. They didn't do anything fancy, stupid, they just went their own way. Even the voice actor for Scrooge is (Scottish!)
I thought it was going to be bad, but I can tell, they really care for their viewers and I think it will work. Webbie is more three dimensional and amazing, Mrs. Beakley is tough as hell and even the villains, although sometimes stupid, seemed fleshed out. Good job. Donald Duck is seen more as well.
If I have to say anything negative, it could be the voice of the nephews are all males, but that doesn't bug as much as QuckPack did. OH GOD.
What I think about reboots, there will be negatives and positives. Right ones and ones that shouldn't be seen by anyone, you know which ones I'm talking about. Till then, everything will be rebooted before you know it.
Jetsons, Fresh Prince of Bel Air, even a few movies for 2019 are getting the treatment. What I want to leave you with is,
If you are a writer, and you think rebooting is a good idea, think for a minute, maybe you might have something new to offer, that people will love.
Till then, enjoy whatever is on movie, Tv whatever, even if it gets rebooted, it had to start somewhere.
