On October 1st, 1999, eleven years ago today. I was going to see the doctor since I wasn't feeling well. Well...
I was in the car, not feeling well. My dad took a day off of work as he drove me as I laid my head on my mom's lap. My brother was in school. We were in Philadelphia. Seemed I was going to be in Children's Hospital for a while.
I stayed for ten days in the hospital. Seemed I had congestive Heart Failure! Heart Failure! Those were the words I just never wanted to hear again. I had to have a procedure done on the seventh of October to see how my heart was doing. Everyone felt sorry for me. They gave me letters of encouragement, good well cards and balloons, stuffed animals. It was very nice of them to do that.
I had to get blood work almost every day. Watched Toy Story almost every day (my mom banned that movie ever since). My mom took the rest of the year off of work because of my illness. She took care of me every since. My dad always called from work to check on me. Sometimes I would be ill, other times OK.
On February, I started going back to school but only for half of the time. My mom would pick me up and we did my homework together, and when September came, my mom went back to school and one of the neighbors decided to watch me. She and I became really good friends, although we did have our differences.
I had a science and math teacher come to my house since February when I was sick. They would help me with my homework and caught me up to my class. They were a male and female, in their sixties I guess. It's been a long time.
I still think about that day, eleven years ago. But, October was always a cursed month for me ever since my Papa died in 98. I still remember what happened those elven year ago, and here I am, healthy and happy. Thanks to doctors, the teachers my friends, family and my mom. She deserved most of the credit. Today, I was just picturing that fateful day. Now you know why my hospital chart is so huge, till then... Caio Bloggers!

The End of Summer
Here it is, the end of summer! Kids are depressed, my mom is depressed, and it's starts to get colder as the heat dies down. It seems the summer had come, and left too soon. Not many people like autumn and I can tell that they don't want to see winter as well. (I don't blame them)
I don't mind it at all. I like autumn. Leaves change color and fall while we see holiday after holiday go by. I was born around the end of autumn, and yes I dread my birthday, but I dread all the holiday commercials that come before it.
We can still enjoy ice cream, but we won't be able to hear the bells play as the ice cream truck goes by. My mom is more upset that summer is over because she knows she's going to have to go back to school to teach again. I feel sorry for her.
But for the kids, not so much. But, they will get breaks, and they have their weekends.
What I'm happy about the end of summer is, no more repeats to watch on my favorite show (although, I don't watch a lot of TV) but, we get to see new seasons and hopefully, new series will stick around longer, but from the looks of it, I don't think so. I enjoy autumn and I enjoyed my summer. I spent it relaxing, working and went to see an air show, which was a lot of fun. (The T birds were the loudest).
The end of summer is sad of course, but there will be another one coming soon, but not soon enough. Enjoy the rest of the summer we have and the beginning of autumn. Ciao bloggers and happy labor day!

The Cleopatra Exhibit
Went to the Franklin Institute a few days ago, and they had a exhibit on Cleopatra the supposed last queen of Egypt. She was not one of those nice queens. She fell in love with many, including Julius Caesar and Antony. The exhibit had everything that explorers dug from the ocean outside Egypt, near Alexandria where Cleopatra's tomb was buried. I enjoyed the exhibit a lot and when she was only 39, she decided to end her life by a snake bite, but she was known for many things. Not pleasant things, but they made so many movies with actresses, such as Elizabeth Taylor, portraying her.
I enjoyed the exhibit, but I haven't been to that museum in many years. But I still learned something new about Cleopatra. Not only that she knew Antony and Caesar, but she married her three year old (it was either her brother or son I'm not sure). That's all I want to blog about for now. If I don't blog again till September, have a happy and safe labor day! Caio Bloggers!

Pizza: why I love it
Why am I making a post about pizza? Well maybe because, I LOVE PIZZA! What would my perfect type of pizza be? Well a pizza called a pizza margherita. What is a pizza margherita? Well, thanks to noble Queen Margherita of Savoy sometime in 1889, craved a new dish called 'pizza'. People started to question her, since they thought pizza was more of a peasant dish. But she wanted it anyway, so a chef made three pizzas for her, and the third one, my favorite, was the Margherita's favorite. The pizza has tomato sauce, fresh mozzarella and basil. It was the three colors of the Italian flag, and that's maybe another reason why the queen loved it. I always thought that since I love pizza margherita, I might have been Queen Margherita of Savoy in a past life, and I think I was.
I've been through so many pizzerias in my day, and tried many pizzas, and believe me, I still have more to go. Haven't been to New Haven's known pizzerias like Sally's Apizza and Frank Pepe's. I haven't tried Lombardi's, the first licensed pizzeria. I like New York style pizza a lot better than Chicago style. Chicago style is just too doughy for me. I admit that sometimes I'll order a pan pizza at pizza hut, however, I don't care much for those pizzas anymore. Now a days. I make homemade pizza, and it is good. Well that's all I wanted to say. Till then, Ciao bloggers, and pray for Haiti and the gulf waters!

Unkonwn- Poem
Not known in the world,
not knowing who you are,
Afraid to know who you want to be,
Afraid to be known,
Afraid to face challenges in life,
I'm unknown,
and I want to know,
If I am capable,
of knowing,
my greatest challenge in life,
who am I,
I am unknown,
to most,
but myself,
I want to be heard,
I want to be known,
I want to tell the world,
who I am,
what I am capable of doing,
and for once,
tell the world I am ready,
for any challenges,
not knowing who you are,
Afraid to know who you want to be,
Afraid to be known,
Afraid to face challenges in life,
I'm unknown,
and I want to know,
If I am capable,
of knowing,
my greatest challenge in life,

but myself,
I want to be heard,
I want to be known,
I want to tell the world,
who I am,
what I am capable of doing,
and for once,
tell the world I am ready,
for any challenges,
they throw at me

Antique Roadshow
I love this one show I see on PBS. It's called 'Antique Roadshow' A bunch of people from many places all over America, bring there junk over, and tell historians that work there all about it. Where they got it, and how much it would be worth to them. Some of them are completely surprised finding out their items might be worth over $100,000. One person brought in a blanket that was made by a Navajoes tribe and stunned the historian when he brought it to him. It was worth over $350,000.
I look around my house, and I don't see much stuff that would be worth over $100,000. Who knows. But there are some stuff in my house that can worth some money. Like for instance. There is this one painting in our den with horses on them, and my parents had that painting for a long time. Another is some Winnie the Pooh books my cousin Chris gave me when I was born. Some stuff that might be worth a bit of money would be in our basement. Like some book holders that are to worth maybe $100 dollars who knows. It's depicts of an old man and old woman. I think my Nana might have given it to us I don't know. My Nana and papa both gave my parents after they were married. It's a clock that barley works, but it could be worth something. It doesn't mean I'm going to find out on an episode of 'Antique Roadshow' if it ever came to Philly. I mean, well...
I treasure the things I have now, and the things I have to come. This would be the only PBS show I want to watch. I love history, and it fascinates me how the historians are always right with detail knowing how the piece was made or who made it. It just fascinates me, and that's why I love this show. Till then...

Hot as Hell!
I've been dealing with this heat in Pennsylvania, and it is unbearable! Why? Because we might be getting a storm worse than the one we had in June. It has been over 100 degrees and it's not healthy for me at all.
I just wish we had one summer with very perfect, not hot, weather, where we can have picnics, enjoy a relaxing day at the pool, and maybe see fireworks go off at night. Even enjoying the beach without the sand burning our feet.
But believe me, when it is winter, we will be wishing for this heat. Stay cool and Ciao Bloggers!
