Happy Birthday, Steve Martin

I talk about famous people a lot. Well, today I will talk about another. Today is comedian Steve Martin's birthday. Most of today's generation won't know him as well as we do. But to some of us, he is so hilarious. He would be number one on the funniest comedians of our generation.

Born in Waco, Texas in 1945, Steve Martin was born. He has (or had) an older sister that would support his comedic status. But before that, he would take classes in English poetry and drama to show his serious side, but it seems his funny bone was stronger than ever.

In the 1960's he would do stand-up comedy in clubs while his former girlfriend was a dancer for the Smother's brothers. He even took up learning the Banjo around that time. He also created comedy albums and by the 1970's he became a household name.

Around the 1970's he did not only the Muppet Show, but also the Muppet movies as well. Starring in some verity shows as well as being known as the person that will make everyone laugh. His movie career started up arond this time, but it's movie's I've never heard of.

Being born around the 80's I would remember him in more familiar movies like The Man with two brains, Roxanne, Three Amigos, Little Pet shop of horrors, and my all-time favorite...Planes, Trains and Automobiles. He portrayed a hard worker who is trying to get home for Thanksgiving only to run into John Candy and a lot of transportation problems. They start to hate each other, a fight happens, and well...I dont' wanna give away the ending.

His movies in the 90's weren't as strong as the 80's movies he did. He also decided to host a few SNL episodes becoming one of the most known guest hosts next to Alec Baldwin. In my opinion, his best movie from the 90's might be father of the bride. Besides that, I don't think I remember him in many other movies.

He has done other movies and TV appearances over the years, including being a guest host in some SNL skits. He has even written a few books as well. Most of his writing is mostly plays like Picaso at the Lapin Agile and few others having Tom Hanks and other actors helping him out.

In his personal life, he had dated Bernedette Peters when they worked on "The Jerk" movie together. He even married two other times and has one daughter, who I think is now a mother. After so many years of acting, he even recently declared retiring from acting after his show, which he stars with Martin Short and Selena Gomez, end.

I wish him the best in his future career, as well as retirement in the future. Now, at 77, it seems Steve Martin hasn't given up the acting bug yet. Happy Birthday to one talented man who has many friends there to wish him lots of love on his special day
