Ed, Edd n Eddy

A Canadian cartoon created by Danny Antonucci on a dare, it is about three boys that live in a Cul-de-sac and cause nothing but mayhem.



  Ed is the stupid one, but for some reason, he does have his smart moments. Craves Gravy as well as chicken in Rolf's farm.

  Ed has a sister named Sarah who is nothing but a brat and apparently, has a friend named Jimmy who wears braces and loves everything girly.

Some of the kids in the Cul-de-Sac actually hate all three of the Ed's, especially Kevin who would call them dorks over and over. The strange about this show is there are barely anyone else in the town they live in. I feel that they could be in purgatory and they are really ghosts of children that have already died (but that's just a myth)



  Edd (or Double D as he likes to be called) is a braniac. A genius, a talented musician, but the biggest question is, what is under his hat? I thought it would be hair, but it seems it could be nothing on is head. It could be hollow or even, more of a mystery to anyone in the Cul-de-sac than we thought. He gets scared, a germaphobe and even has notes covered everywhere in his house.

   Other kids like, the three sisters named Kay, Lee and Marie have a huge crush on the three Eds. One loves Ed, another loves Double D and especially Lee loves Eddy.
   They seem like the female version of Ed, Edd n Eddy to me.


I might have blogged before about this, but how the show ended, well....

  That's where it all comes down to Eddy.

A bigshot, a moron, someone who thinks he's the best, who cares about nothing but Jawbreakers, money and scamming the kids in the cul-de-sac. However, there is another side to him. And it all came out in the finale. A special movie that made this show amazing.

  Eddy always says he has a big brother (no name revealed). He looked up to him, the kids feared him, and it seemed, in the tv-movie special, the Ed's pull off the most horrible prank that makes all the kids try to find them and destroy them.

   Eddy decides that he should hide out at his brothers. The only problem was he didn't know where his brother lived.
  There are clues on where his brother might be through a post card he sent. The Ed's go everywhere to find him, and the kids of the cul-de-sac do the same, finding and destroying them.


  Other kids of the cul-de-sac are:
    Rolf- a student from a foreign country that has an obsession with meat

    Nazz- a girl that all the Ed's and Kevin have a crush on. However, she doesn't care for any of them, except for maybe Double D.

    Johnny 2x4- A kid who might ADD, he has a friend that is a plank of wood named "Plank"


In the final episode/movie, we learn the truth about Eddy. His brother is nothing but a bully

All the kids realize, even though Eddy was mean to them, his brother is five times worse, finding out how cruel he can be. Hurting Eddy, making him say 'uncle' in pain and it seemed he would taunt him about him being nothing but a shrimp.

   Eventually, enough is enough and Ed decides to knock Eddy's brother out cold, and all the kids (minus Johnny 2x4) are happy. They accepted the Ed's into society and even apologize for everything that happened. Finding out the dark truth that Eddy was nothing more than a liar.

  Even though, half of the time, the show would break the fourth wall, knowing that they are nothing but a cartoon, it seemed this show was one of the best that came from Cartoon Network, and we miss those three kids from a cul-de-sac full of no parents at all.

A different look at "Matilda"

I recently got to see this movie based on a children's book again, and I realized, how scary it is.


  Have you never noticed that? It's strange and true but, some of these Roald Dahl movies, can terrify people, but I feel this one gave me more questions than answers.


   First off, the story it is based on....


A young girl named Matilda Wormwood loves books, but her family is the polar opposite. Loving to sit around the tv, sell used cars for unfair prices and even, has a principal who shouldn't be allowed anywhere near a school.

   When it became the movie, it stared great actors in horrible roles. What I mean by that is...their characters are horrible.
Mara Wilson (The young girl from Mrs. Doubtfire) portrays the young Matilda, and she was already going through a rough time in real life. Losing her mother to breast cancer while she was filming Matilda.
  The movie was dedicated to her mother.

  The parents are portrayed by a real married couple: Danny DeVito and Rhea Pearlman. Even if they play horrible parents, they actually were very nice to Mara in real life. Acting like an actual mother and father to her as her real father was taking care of her dying mother.

  Other actors...well...


The story is somewhat similar to the book, having an evil principal that scared children, even threatened a young child to eat a whole chocolate cake. Throwing a girl by her pigtails as well as being the evil aunt to Matilda's teacher, Miss Honey.

   I realized seeing this movie, it's pretty scary. Showing how a child with an interesting imagination, wonderful mind and even superpowers...can be somewhat dark. How that even in darkest times, there is a bright light when Matilda and Miss Honey meet. They have a lot in commen, they feel that they're in a world that they don't belong in, with people that hate them.


  BTW: Another dark thing is about a certain device Miss Trunchbull, the principal uses on students called: The Choceky. What kind of principal, in their right mind, would shove a child into a contraption with nails sticking out each way. They would get fired, or arrested in the real world.

Some of the things used in the books is Matila herself. How she got her special powers after destroying the tv when she didn't want to watch with her family.
 She soon realizes she could do more with her powers to help herself as well as Miss Honey by getting rid of their problems.

  After saving a China doll that belonged to Miss Honey, Matilda realizes her powers are within her, realizing that she could help herself as well as a friend.

How will Miss Trunchbull be defeated? Well, Matilda had a plan which involved her super powers yet again.

  First, finding out the backstory of Miss Honey losing her father young, thinking to herself that Miss Trunchbull had something to do with his death.
  Scaring the Trunchbull by playing tricks, scaring her (since she was superstitious) and writing something on the chalkboard to think that Miss Honey's father came back from the dead.
But here's another question, I know that it's a story and that this is totally fiction, but what happened to the Trunchbull after Matilda scared her out of the school? Was she automatically fired? How did Miss Honey get the principal's teaching position?

  Well, it doesn't matter, plus... Matilda got rid of her family after they were going to move to Guam, but Miss Honey decided to adopt her, and they lived happily ever after, making Matilda use her powers again.


   Well...it seemed when Matilda was scared or in trouble, or wanted to show revenge on her father, she would use her mind, and her powers to solve everything.


 Looking back, it can be dark, but it's still one of the better movies from Roald Dhal since the original Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Intresting movie, and even the cast seemed to agree since they had a reunion recently when almost all the actors came back to portray their lovable selves yet again.
