Just saw a Documentary film called "Fed Up" where they talk about Childhood Obesity.
Katie Couric is the narrator, and it got me to thinking about my childhood.
I grew up mostly in the 90s and they didn't focus on childhood obesity epidemic until the end of the 90's. I mean. We didn't have much of the internet or cell phones or Netflix to keep us glued to the TV or internet, but today, it is a different picture.
I didn't really survive much on cafeteria food as well. My mom would give me a bagged lunch of PB&J and a banana and I would enjoy it but now, everyone is becoming health conscious on what children are eating and it seems to be scarier by the minute.
At schools they had been cutting back on gym and recess and for that it would also be why kids weren't getting enough exercise and it concerned the parents, but it could as well be the food.
Sodas, candy, fast food you name it kids would eat it and would sit on the couch and play their video games.
When I was a kid, I would venture out into the world. I would have fast food once in a while, but I'm not a big fast food eater. Don't care much for McNuggets.
Some schools went so desperate as to cut out pizza and French fries just to make kids healthy again but it seemed too extreme, so to add it into their fruits and vegetables a day counter, they said that pizza was a vegetable. Are you kidding, because it has tomato sauce pizza is a vegetable??
It seems not only have schools taken it seriously, President Obama's wife started a let's a Let's move organization which benefited every child that felt that they had no self esteem in themselves.
Sometimes I felt it was all the negative ads that were being aired during the Saturday Morning Cartoons and it seems it's not going to end until we do something about it.
I know the future won't be pretty for the children, but my cousin is making her family healthy by starting her children om a lifestyle to health by feeding her boys non processed food and organic ingredience. I'm proud of her.
Till then, we know that it will take a long time before children become healthy again, and many of them are trying to be that way with healthy exercise and healthy eating as well. In the end they will see the results they are looking for. Ciao for now bloggers and remember your life and your families is an important one.

summer coming too quick.....
This is the week we have to remember our fallen veterans. Memorial Day.
It feels like Summer all ready. But remember everyone... Once summer is here.... It will go in a blink of an eye and back to school sales will come before you know it.
I feel right after the Fourth of July ends I see back to school sales when I go shopping. I'm not kidding.
Why do people have to start right away.
It's not even the beginning of summer but I feel we are at summer right now. And when August comes, and I'm not kidding here, we will be seeing our first Christmas commercial. They make it come some quick every GD year.
It makes me both sick and wanting to cry in a corner somewhere, I'm not kidding. I know I talk about it every year and I blog about it all the time, but it is so true every year.
Never ending. Stressful as it is the one big day for people to worry about the most is HOIDAYS!
Whether it's memorial day, fourth of July or Christmas! We have to know that we are going to be running around stores, getting what we need until we our satisfied and feeling so stressed on that Holiday that we don't even care to celebrate.
This time, don't be stressed when you see back to school sales in the middle of July or (and I don't know why they do it) a Christmas commercial by the end of August.
Enjoy Summer and whatever you have of it. June is just a week away and believe me, it will vanish in a blink of an eye.

Scrooge We hardly knew ye.
Alan Young was 96 years old.
He is now in the skies and is there with a horse named Ed.
It seems that all the great actors, be it voice or tv screen, it seems they are dropping like flies this year.
Alan Young seemed to have his own show before staring as Wilbur on the hit Mr. Ed which stared a horse that talked to only him.
I never really watched the show but they say it was pretty well known show that ran on Nick at Nite when I was young, but really was a hit in the 50's about a man portrayed by Alan Young who had a horse that talked, and I think they might have used peanut butter. It lasted a couple of years.
But I knew Alan Young more as a voice actor as a certain duck called Scrooge McDuck. He took care of three constant siblings: Huey, Dewey and Louie on a show called Ducktales and they would go on amazing adventures.
They were even going to bring it back next year, but I don't know what will happen now since Alan Young is no longer with us. I feel since Alan is gone so they should retire Scrooge McDuck, but that's just me.
I even remember the short Christmas carol where Scrooge McDuck was Ebenezer, and Mickey was Crachit. Short, heartwarming and sad. Very to the point it was, it was also one of the first Christmas Carol movies I saw next to the Muppet Christmas Carol.
It does hurt deep down, but he lived a wonderful life, and he did continue voicing as Scrooge in the short Mickey Mouse cartoon. And believe me, Mickey, Minnie those nephews and Donald Duck are crying tonight. And all of us fans that enjoyed the work that Alan Young did for us, we ar blessed to have a great voice actor, and actor that can work well with a talking horse. God Rest your soul Alan Young. Mr. Ed Will see you in heaven. Ciao for now Bloggers and watch Ducktales when you can.

the death of so many tv shows
Like the end of the season of TV shows, might also be the end of some of good and even *bad* shows.
Some new ones, and some that have lasted a few seasons. Which have gotten their plugs pulled this year too soon:
*Grandfathered- a show about a man who was played the sexy John Stamos soon finds out he not only has a son but a grandchild as well. I got into the show but eventually couldn't really get myself into the show and tuned out. Sadly I think FOX felt the same way. But I will always love John Stamos and Josh Peck
*The Grinder- Another FOX show that came around the same time as 'Grandfathered'. Rob Lowe plays a lawyer on TV, and well... let's just say the viewers were hit and miss. I never saw one episode. I guess it's because of Fred Savage I guess I don't know. Wasn't a fan.
*The Muppets- This was nothing like the old 80's version. It was so horrible!!!! This was just the total opposite. It was just horrid from beginning to end. It was canned for sure.
*Nashville- A show about country music stars that lasted four seasons. It didn't seem to have to have the hype it had like it did the first two seasons. By the third season, it didn't seem to work with fans, but the music was good. Now Hayden Panettiere is having a country music career off her shoulders. Sorry it didn't work out for them.
*Bordertown- OK, this was a failure from the start for FOX. A wannabe Family Guy show that I know was going to fail. It seemed it wanted to suck from the first episode. Had great voice actors like Hank Azaria and Alex Borstein, now they have to go back to Simpsons and Family Guy because this was a nightmare for their paychecks.
*Telenovela- Eva Longoria wanted to make a tv show. OK so did Rob Schnider and George Lopez and they ended up being failures too. Going to have to put it on the forget it list on NBC. I knew it wouldn't last.
*Cooper's guide to....- Well I'm just going to say "cancellation" or better yet trying to be New Girl, which it would never be. It was horrible, a wannabe funny not show. It sucked from beginning to end. Sorry but it's a skippable show and FOX thought the same thing.
*Castle- Seven seasons of amazing clues and two smart detectives. One played by actor Nathan Fillion (who was amazing in Firefly) and it was a show I got hooked on until season eight when tragedy struck when the lead actress (Stana Katic) left the show for unknown reasons and they decided to kill off her character. They were going to continue on without her, but in my opinion it was best to end it on season eight and I guess ABC agreed as well. I will always remember the show for it's amazing stories. I even had great episode ideas. I'm happy that Castle is ending, and I'm happy I got to see it. Thank you for a great show ABC.
*The Family- A tragic story, that didn't feel tragic to anyone, just boring and it didn't appeal to anyone either. So, NBC didn't want to keep it around for a long time. It seemed to played out, a kidnapped kid comes back but it's not the real kid? Come on, too clesheaed of a story.
Other shows that got the boot: Well I can't name them all but here's the list:
- Gallivant
- CSI: CYBER
- Undateable
- The Good Wife
- Mike and Molly
Some shows are worth the plug pull and others we are sad to see go, but will new shows be better and new seasons of others get better as well? I would like to say yes, but I hate to say no. Only time and the new seasons will tell. Ciao bloggers

Kentucky Derby 2016
Well it's here again. Another year of horses in Kentucky racing for victory. Will we see another triple crown winner like we did last year with "American Pharaoh" who knows.
This year's big pick is named "Nyquil or Nesquill." I don't know. He's the horse that could win it all, I don't know.
All I know is everyone wears crazy hats and drinks a lot of mint julips and bloody marries.
Sometimes some tragedies do happen on the track. But I don't know if it was at the Kentucky Derby or another horse race. One horse was injured so bad they euthanized it after the race was over.
We will never forget Smarty Jones. One of the greatest Kentucky Derby race horses from around here. When he won, we were ecstatic. And every time I pick a horse for my grandmother, she somehow wins.
It must be somehow creepy in its own way but she doesn't even know she had a horse be.
This year, since my boyfriend will not be there, I'll give him a horse as well.
Nyquist is the favorite to win. Will he win? I don't know, just because is in favorite to win won't always be the winner. You might be surprised yourself. Enjoy the race, drink a Mint Julip or two and remember have fun. Till then Ciao Bloggers.
