First off, we know what Taco Bell is. A Mexican fast food restaurant started by Glenn Bell in early 1952. They were getting sick of burger fast food chains and he wanted to do something bold.
He's no longer with us, but if he saw what they are doing now, he'd be rolling over in his graves so many times he'd be hitting China.
Tacos were famous at the Taco Bell, but it seemed they've been getting more veracity over the years with not only tacos but, fries????
Let me get this straight, over the years they have done stupid things for fast food chains, but I've never heard of fries at Taco Bell.
They used to have a taco pizza in the 90's but that didn't last, they even used a Chihuahua to promote their tacos, burritos and other things they sold. He would always come up to someone eating a Taco Bell taco and he would say, "¡Yo quiero Taco Belll"
Which was Española for I want Taco Bell. The man who voiced that Chihuahua, hated doing the voice. He always had people coming up to him and screaming for him to do that voice.
Now, they added fries? I mean I understand with the Taco Pizza, but these fries are flavored with some sort of Nacho cheese, and it seems to be enticing everyone to buy it. I, on the other hand, think Taco bell is gross.
I prefer something that won't go through my system so quick, or having tacos unless I make them. A lot of people think with Taco Bell, being the odd dog out, they're trying to become what they didn't want to be back in the 70's.
They've changed their slogan a lot, using people eating tacos, to a Chihuahua and now, going dark. What I mean by that is selling to night owls, tweens and the millennials.
For me, I never cared for Taco Bell, and now adding Nacho flavored fries, doesn't seem to be a fast food that just sells Tacos anymore. If it makes the consumer happy, that's what matters to them, along with other fast food establishments.
Tacos became popular mostly in the west coast, and parts of California embellishments are mostly Mexican food. For me, and other people, I don't know if I consider Taco Bell true Mexican Food. Those commercials I remember when I was little would always be in my mind, but the sad truth was, I never ate at Taco Bell. I was never a big fan of Mexican food, unless it's a Turkey taco. Adding Fries, does not mean Taco Bell is still a fast food Taco Stand.
Glenn Bell was trying to do something different, trying not become one of the burger chains, and seeing this...What is with Taco Bell now?
If you like Taco Bell, that's good, for me, I'll stick to pizzas (and I don't mean Dominos and Pizza Hut) If it's not real food, then to me, it's not edible.
