We know what happened to Titanic, both the actual ship, and the movie itself.
First off, we know there were no passengers named Rose or Jack. That came from the mind of the writers. But, if you know the whole movie, beginning to end, you would know what really happened.
They did a cut off ending that was somewhat, different. The late Bill Paxton's character notices Rose dropping the necklace with the Hope Diamond on it into the sea and tries to stop her.
But they cut that out and she drops the necklace into the sea, knowing it was not worth it. Keeping it all those years along with a sad heartfelt fact that Jack was long gone and she wouldn't find true love ever again. Even if she remarried.
She sleeps and we either think she's dreaming of Jack and the other 1,500 deceased passengers or she went to Heaven where they were.
The scene goes right down to the rustic Titanic and it seems Rose is looking at everyone that did not make it to survival, including Jack her love. Kate Winslet and the late Gloria Stuart were amazing. They were even nominated for Oscars. I don't know if Gloria Stuart won, but Kate Winslet did, along with it winning for best director and even best picture. I loved this movie, but what got me the most was not the dying scenes of every passenger that perished, or Jack drowning to death, but the ending.
I always wondered if Jack was right that Rose would die peacefully, as an old lady in bed and they would meet again afterwards.
Some people think it happened while others, well they thought it was just a dream.
Gloria Stuart lived to be a hundred, born in 1910, she was very young when the actual ship sank. She never wanted to think about that tragic day, even when she was portraying an elderly lady. She knew the experience.
For me, I think she did die at the end of the movie and is in heaven, noticing everyone that died on the ship, as well as Jack. Heaven to her is Titanic. And to us, we wouldn't know unless we see the end and Rose being young again. Knowing her true self died on the Titanic.
It could have happened but, you never know.
