Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss

Image result for dr seussEver read any of the books that brought children joy? Such as:
 *The Cat in the hat
 * Horton Hears a who or even one of my all time favorites
 *The Lorax

If not, then you should be reading these. Not only is read around the world day, but Dr. Seuss' birthday as well.

A day where almost every school has a Dr. Seuss book out and reads it. For me, as I said before, The Lorax is my favorite of all time. I guess, second, would be "Green Eggs and Ham"

Sadly though: he died of jaw cancer in 1991. Leaving the children of the future, without a mentor. But now, if he were alive, would he want to see his creations on the big screen, being destroyed by Hollywood executives just for cash?
No offence but, I wonder how many times he had rolled around in his grave.

But, on the sunny side, before all that happened, we got to see small cartoons that gave us "The Cat in the Hat" and my favorite, "The Lorax"

Why do I love "The Lorax" so much? About a greedy person, not respecting nature, just so he could sell 'thneeds' and a small man, that hid in the trees, saying that it wouldn't be a good idea, and when the man cut down the last tree, the Lorax went away.

Ok, that is a powerful story. But the remake cartoon, with Ed Harris and Danny DeVito, not a smart idea.

Jim Carey as the Grinch, sounds smart on paper, but on the big screen, I don't think so.

Horton hears a who, computer animated, with Jim Carey and Carol Burnett, might be ok and similar to the book, but some parts, I don't think so. Then again, the only respectful one.

Till then, today is a birthday of a great author of kid books. He was a part of my childhood when I was little, and still is today. I wish him the happiest of birthdays (104 years old today) and I know he's celebrating in the clouds.
