Here comes 2021- Poem

The last thing I will write in 2020

a new year emerges

and we all are getting happy

2020 has given us nothing but:

hell,

nightmare,

illness,

death,

anger,

it felt as if we were fighting a war

over a year

that is close to being over

how will our future generations react,

to what 2020 has given us,

it will be printed in history books,

telling us...

this was our present

We will celebrate,

enjoy,

emarace this new year coming,

it will be a long journey,

to make everything right again.

But we survived it,

we lived,

we're ready for a new year,

It makes us stronger,

knowing one year,

one horrible disaster of a yer,

did not stop us

from living

but now,

a new year arrives,

a new beginning,

a new day,

when we will,

make it better

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE

Let's make the best of it

MERRY CHRISTMAS

It's that time of year again. Where we think of others as well as love one another. When we were kids, Christmas was about.

I guess when we were children, we stayed awake on Christmas eve, hoping to get the next new toy that has been shown, Not knowing the true meaning, but they're just kids. But, when they get older, they will understand the true meaning of Christmas.

Happiness and joy appear on a child's face and think what Christmas really means when they get older. Giving. For me, having a birthday around the holidays, I give and I get. I feel I should give more, but at least, I will get happiness out of it.

Some kids would wish it would be Christmas everyday, but I think if you treat everyday as if it was Christmas. Do that, and you get your wish, or you'll going to have to experience the same thing over, and over again.

This year, we had to be careful. Some people lost their jobs, and others lost family members. But, we still haven't lost the sprit of Christmas. Holidays are still gonna be here no matter what. Even if a pandemic causes most of this year to stall.

This year maybe different, but it doesn't mean our holiday spirit has faded. It's stronger than ever, and we pray the new year is better than this year has been. We wish you a very merry Christmas and a healthier new year to come.

Dennis the Menace: Comic, Cartoon, movies

Everyone has heard of a comic strip named "Dennis the Menace" a boy that gets into mischief with almost with everyone. His parents, his friends and even his next door neighbor Mr. Wilson.

In the UK, they had their own version of Dennis the Menace. He had a dog named Gnasher. I don't remember much of it, but I'm more intrastent in the US version. The UK's version is the longest running strip ever.

The character and comic was created by Hank Ketcham. He created Dennis and his family after his own life. When he retired and passed away, the comic kept going strong with the help of his son Dennis (which the comic was named after) as well as few other people. Still going on today, it still tackles the daily life of a boy getting into mischief and irking his neighbor.

He had friends like Joey and Tommy, but the most memorable friend/enemy is Margaret. She loves to get Dennis and his friends into danger. Secretly loves Dennis but makes his him and his friends lives miserable.

They made an old TV show in the late fifties staring Jay North as Dennis. I think he's still alive, but I remember the cartoon more than the old TV show from the fifties. I guess the premace of it is similar to the comic in many ways.

The show was somewhat depressing by the end of the third season. The actor that portrayed George Wilson passed away from a cerebral hemorrhage. They couldn't get another replacement for him and well... There was no Wilson family in the forth season. I think. I don't remember.

I think I remember the cartoon more than that tv series. It has the same story, boy makes mischief, has friends, Mr. Wilson all that. This cartoon was a part of my childhood. I wouldn't watch every episode, but I found it to be fun

I think I remember the movie from 1993 a lot more than any of the cartoons or live action TV show. Walter Mathau, who looks so much like my grandfather from my mom's side who died that year, plays George Wilson. Dennis is around my cousin's age, so I guess the actor was eight or seven at the time. The who mischief happens, mostly towards Mr. Wilson. He has to spend most of his summer with him when his parents have separate business trips for their jobs.

It was a very memorable movie, with very good actors portraying the adults like Lea Thompson playing his mother and Christopher Lloyd playing a villain played 'Switchblade Sam' It was very good.

There was another movie called "Dennis the Menace' Strikes again. I don't think I remember this movie as well as the other. Betty White portrays Mrs. Wilson and Don Knotts is Mr. Wilson. Again it's a passable movie, but not memorable to me as the other.

Dennis the Menace is still in the comics. Still being his old menace self. I still remember the 1993 movie as well as the cartoon from my youth. He will always be mischievous young boy bothering his next door neighbor, but still a kid at heart.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!

Well, it's that time of year again. My birthday. Born on December of 84, I'm now going to be 36. Wow... 36 years old, and I still can't remember my past.

Well... I can a little. I mean I was a kid, but most of my time was spent at the hospital getting surgery on my heart. My mom is now a retired teacher and my dad...well, still has been working from home, but is also retired.

I feel that we always have to wait for our birthdays. Sometimes we love them, others times...we dread them. I like celebrating other people's birthdays. I mean my birthday is fine, and I love being the center of attention...but I just don't wanna get old.

I've talked a lot before about 1984, and that I wasn't the only person born in 1984. But sometimes, I don't even remember 1984. I was born near the end of the year, so I guess that might be why. This year however, has not been the best.

For now, we don't celebrate much with family...but we have to face time them, or just give them a card. Presents will be light, but the love will be strong. The cake will still be made (let's hope)

I feel this Birthday will be still the same. I'll still get those calls from family wishing and singing me a happy birthday song. This year will be ok, and I will still be happy. What is it about birthdays that makes us happy and upset at the same time? I guess it's just getting older. Seeing your family there makes you happy, but knowing age is just a number, it's true except on your birthday

When it's your birthday, you age another year. You've went through the sun for the whole year and are happy to have made it. 2020 has not been a great year for any of us. Some have lived through it, and some have not. With the year almost over and we are looking forward to 2021. And now, it's my turn, and I will be 36 in a few days.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!

Simpson Christmas Episodes

The Holidays are here and we all know our favorite yellow family would be celebrating as well. How? With some episodes that involve Christmas in some way. Their first episode was around Christmas. When Homer loses his job, and works as Santa Claus. They get a dog named Santa's little helper as well.

Their second was Marge Be not Proud. Bart wants a video game that is extremely violent, according to Marge, and won't give it to him. He steals it, gets caught, and when the family goes to get their picture taken, it's the same store where Bart stole the video game. Marge loses his trust and faith. Eventually, gains it back by taking a picture and paying for it.

Another episode was when Bart burns the tree and tells the family a burglar stole everything. Believing him, they went on the news, but soon their lie is exposed. The whole Simpson family become pariahs'. Bart feels guilty, Marge tries to win money on Jeopardy, but it doesn't work out. The whole town of Springfield decides to steal their belongings to make it even.

Remember when Furbies were a huge hit, I guess the Simpsons had their own version available around the holidays. Although these Furbies are deadly. Destroying toys as well as trying to kill the Simpson family. Homer decides to dress up as Santa and take matters into his own hands by destroying all of them.

This episode shows the selfish side of Homer Simpson when he buys a gift for himself when the family was supposed to get a Christmas Tree. Homer soon sees the error of his ways. I guess he starts to turn into the Grinch, stealing presents from the others. Guess, giving them back at the end. It's kind of like 'The Homer that stole Christmas'

An annoying Simpson Character named Gil decides to spend time with the Simpson family after getting fired as Santa. He over welcomes his stay. Thinking it's ok, Marge can't say no to him. And when she gets the courage to, Gil moves out. Wasn't a fan of this one.

The fight Before Christmas has three Christmas stories. One having Katy Perry with Simpsons that look like the Muppets. There are three segments of this episode. One also had Martha Stewart helping out Marge make her Christmas bright. It was ok but seeing the Simpsons look like deaminized puppets, kind of creeped me out.

I won't be home for Christmas, well Marge and Homer have a huge fight around Christmas Eve. She throws Homer out where he celebrates with Moe. After he finds out, he decides to see Marge who is not happy with him either. I guess at the end, she takes Homer back and they celebrate Christmas with the family, which includes Grandpa Simpson.

The most recent Christmas special is tis the 30th season. I don't even remember this one as well. All I know about it s Marge being depressed around the holidays or something like that. They take a trip to Tennessee to cheer her up. I forget how it ends, but it does end on a happy note for the family. Showing that Christmas doesn't have to be stressful

There were a lot of Christmas episodes on the Simpsons, even one that started the whole show. What I think about it? Well, the earlier episodes are amazing, but well...I don't know about the recent ones. Not great, but they're still worth the watch. Only to see our yellow family have a great holiday

What this year means

This year is nothing but HELL!

we wait for a solution,

for when we hit a new year,

we waited long enough

Our hopes and dreams

dashed

destroyed

forgotten

left unfulfilled

all burned to an ash

all because of one virus,

a virus that started before April began

and March ended,

We thought it would go away,

we thought it wasn't anything but a harmless bacteria,

we were wrong,

and we are now in danger,

Thousands dead,

many without family,

without answers,

without hope,

but there has been some gleaming...

shining light

hope for our county,

an end of a tyrant president,

and a beginning of a new,

happier future

A new president in 2021,

Vaccine coming soon,

Hoping there is a brighter future,

where we find the answers,

that we were searching for,

with the year almost at end,

we are searching for a better future,

will we get it,

or will it feel as if we pressed rewind,

on another year

looking back now,

it's a blur,

a memory,

and what this year meant to me,

nothing but hope,

praying that we see a better future

in 2021
