What are they? What are our spiritual animals? When we die, do we become them?
So many questions to ponder on this. What is a spiritual animal? They are animals that touch our soul in so many ways. From the sky to the sea, so many animals are considered spiritual. Even back in the old days (ok I'm going far but) many Indian cultures believed that the eagle or the fox and wolf were their spiritual guides to enlightenment and believe they would become them after death.
Many people believe that they would one day be reincarnated as their own animal that guided them through life.
There are three....
Spiritual animals from the sky, land and sea.
They guide us into happiness and make us aware that they are guiding our soul to peace.
For me, my spiritual animals are each from the sky, land and sea as well.
For the sea: the almighty dolphin.
Graceful, beautiful creatures that give meaning and purpose to the sea.
Although they are known for their tricks and screeches, to me, they're gracious creatures, spirits of the sea. To me, they are my soul and I love dolphins. I do collect from keychains, to jewelry even statues and posters.
Even if it seems as if it was an obsession, I feel as if it was the start of my spiritual guide in well being and happiness.
Jumping in and out of the water with strength and guidance. I feel as when I see a dolphin, I feel safe.
For the sky: butterflies.
Why them? Why a butterfly? Well, it was recent to find some spiritual animal from the sky, and after my grandma died, I believe she became a beautiful butterfly. My mom and her sister even felt her mother was guiding them as a butterfly.
I feel when we go, we come back as something to go to the heavens as something with wings.
I like butterflies and it seems for the skies, it would be either them, or a bald eagle, but after the death of my grandmother, I chose the butterflies. Even some birds like blue jays are the sprits of my grandparents.
They were into bird watching, and I feel them watching over me.
Even if butterflies are my number one spiritual animal in the sky, blue jays would be second. It seems I have two. Every time I see them, I feel comfort as well as hope and joy.
For the land: Wolves
If you think a wolf can kill, you are right, but if you stare in its soul, it won't harm you. I would think of them as spiritual gods surrounding the grass and the trees. And they are wonderful to see as the snow falls.
I even see the eyes of a wolf inside of me. My spiritual guide, I don't fear the wolf as I would the fox and also think that the wolf is more like a dog than an actual wolf.
Even if I fear it, deep down, it's my spiritual animal and I fear no harm would come to me.
All three of my spiritual animals, whether it be wolf, butterfly or even a dolphin, I think as if I feel calm, as if my family that have passed on, had become one with these animals (or others) But when I am gone, I would want to be one of these.
My spirit feels safe with a butterfly or a dolphin. Wolves take time to nurture, but having a dog, feels as if I am one with the wolf.
All these three are my guides to a new world, and my spirit feels at peace with each of those three.
