Water is heavily polluted in Brazil, are we really ready for the summer Olympics?
Who knows. But every year something interesting has happened in the Summer Olympics good and bad.
I don't remember much of it since my birth in 1984. And every four years (just like the presidential debates) we have the summer Olympics which include:
*Swimming
*Softball
*Rowing
*Gymnastics
*Handball
*Fencing
*Polo
*Table Tennis
and so much more.
In 1984 and 1996, The Summer Olympics was hosted here in the USA. Since then, it hasn't been.
In 1984, Mary Lou Retton was the star in the Gymnastics competition. She was very young and small, but had had heart. She even won the gold medal for the American team and shed a tear when they played the national anthem.
I wasn't even born yet, but they play it over and over saying she was one of the greatest of the 1980's to bring home the gold.
Michael Phelps was another great. When it was Beijing's turn in 2008 in the swimming competition and he brought the gold, twelve of them.
Now it is Rio's turn to host the Olympics in 2016. They've been having issues with their water and it seems almost every invent involves water. Plus what will their mascot be. Every Summer Olympic had an interesting mascot from Atlanta What its' to London Winlock. This is going to be interesting.
The new Mascots for 2016 are:
Vinicius and Tom.
Welcome to 2016 Summer Olympics. Ciao Bloggers
