How far will we go until childhood obesity stops?

Just saw a Documentary film called "Fed Up" where they talk about Childhood Obesity.

Katie Couric is the narrator, and it got me to thinking about my childhood.

I grew up mostly in the 90s and they didn't focus on childhood obesity epidemic until the end of the 90's. I mean. We didn't have much of the internet or cell phones or Netflix to keep us glued to the TV or internet, but today, it is a different picture.

I didn't really survive much on cafeteria food as well. My mom would give me a bagged lunch of PB&J and a banana and I would enjoy it but now, everyone is becoming health conscious on what children are eating and it seems to be scarier by the minute.

At schools they had been cutting back on gym and recess and for that it would also be why kids weren't getting enough exercise and it concerned the parents, but it could as well be the food.

Sodas, candy, fast food you name it kids would eat it and would sit on the couch and play their video games.

When I was a kid, I would venture out into the world. I would have fast food once in a while, but I'm not a big fast food eater. Don't care much for McNuggets.

Some schools went so desperate as to cut out pizza and French fries just to make kids healthy again but it seemed too extreme, so to add it into their fruits and vegetables a day counter, they said that pizza was a vegetable. Are you kidding, because it has tomato sauce pizza is a vegetable??

It seems not only have schools taken it seriously, President Obama's wife started a let's a Let's move organization which benefited every child that felt that they had no self esteem in themselves.

Sometimes I felt it was all the negative ads that were being aired during the Saturday Morning Cartoons and it seems it's not going to end until we do something about it.

I know the future won't be pretty for the children, but my cousin is making her family healthy by starting her children om a lifestyle to health by feeding her boys non processed food and organic ingredience. I'm proud of her.

Till then, we know that it will take a long time before children become healthy again, and many of them are trying to be that way with healthy exercise and healthy eating as well. In the end they will see the results they are looking for. Ciao for now bloggers and remember your life and your families is an important one.
