Death of good Comedians

 First off....
  Whatever happen to good comedy?

Now a days, I've seen comedians gone from good, to plain HORRIBLE.

My example would have to be comedians that either talk about where they've lost their virginity to poop jokes and having sex constantly.

Some comedians can be funny like: Louis C.K.. Jerry Seinfeld, Patton Oswalt or even the late Robin Williams who was hilarious when he was on stage.

But now we have people like: Dane Cook, Kevin James or the dreaded Amy Schumer. Every time I hear her name, it makes comedy seem to get stupider.

Sarah Silverman might be funny on occasion, but Amy???
She makes Dane Cook seem as if he was as funny as Steve Martin, who was another great comedian who I have loved.

Image result for great comedians   Some great comedians have left the comedy stage to do other things. Have a normal life for one and another would be starting a TV show like Jerry Seinfeld and Tim Allen did.

The late Abbot and Costello were hilarious back in the olden days.
Abbott and Costello circa 1940s.JPG making jokes that not many would understand. The 'Who's on first joke'  would be considered the best joke ever and would start a hilarity in the years to come just like Animaniacs and their famous "Woodstock episode" featuring Slappy the squirrel. LOL

But not every comedian is funny. Jay Leno is ok, but when he does stand up, it's not great. When's a talk show host, he does the best he can. He also collects vintage cars which he has been doing lately.

Rosie O'Donnell isn't great either, but I don't hate her.
Carrot Top can be annoying, or as his real name is 'Scott Thompson' He uses props to be funny, and he has recently been in 'Family Guy'

Image result for john mulaney   John Mulaney is a new comer. I think he had a short lived tv show as well. He isn't funny. He tries too hard in my opinion.

What does make comedy hilarious? What makes a comedian great?

The jokes? The talent? Knowing who your audience is?
It depends on the timing.
For some comedians, it would take forever while others it hits them like a bolt of lighting and they know how to be funny.

Some great comedians were also SNL greats like the late Chris Farley, Chris Rock, Adam Sandler.
(Even thought Sandler and Rock aren't as funny as funny as they used to be)
back then they had something.

Sometimes, I love to hear the jokes and find out if a comedian truly is funny, and if not, then forget them.

Image result for joel mchale  Joel McHale is funny at times. Loved him when he hosted 'the soup' but sadly, he hasn't been doing great with shows since "Community" got cancelled.

For every good comedian, there will also be a terrible one. One that will do nothing but smash watermelons or one that will talk about her vagina and another who will just scream constantly on the microphone.

Till then, Comedy will always be Comedy; good and bad.

(I also want to send my condolences to the victims of Charlottesville, Virginia from the tragedy that took the life of one women and injured 19 others over white supremacies. When will we learn that violence will never be the answer. God rest your soul Heather Heyer)

Are sick sictcoms the new norm?

Seeing it now as a trend.
"Detour" that involves a stupid family on vacation. It feels as if they don't care what curse words they use, or gross stuff they do, as long as the viewer is satisfied.

"Wrecked" it's like a comedy version of lost. I mean it's not great, but not as amazing as I would say repeat episodes of Big Bang Theory.

And both shows are on TBS.

They also put out a new show called "The Guest book." Looks bad, but is it sick? Who knows.

I see some shows give up in the beginning of the series, or even the middle. With 2 broke girls, it was promising, even great.

Now I don't find the show even remotely funny. It went downhill fast, and got cancelled.

Even Family guy, which I loved when it was in it's first few seasons, now, WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED?

Same with American dad. It's getting worse. Even creator Seth McFarlane knows it, and admits it has seen better days for both shows, but it seems it's been renewed for another few years.

SpongeBob was getting the same treatment as well, gross out episodes involving gross close ups of mutilated thumbs, eyeballs being sucked out of sockets and even a toe nail being pulled off the toe.
"OUCH!"

And Nickelodeon has some gross shows as well:
     "Sanjay and Craig"
   "Fanboy and Chum Chum"
  "Pig, Goat, Banana, Cricket"
and so much more. Showing gross bodily fluids and even fart noises.

What's going on with TV shows today? Have people just been getting stupider, have the viewers just want gross out stuff?
Did the writers just throw up their hands and gave up?

No, I don't think so. I've been reading that some shows are doing reboots, bringing back classic 90's shows, reviving them and bringing it back in a whole new way.
They tried that on Cartoon Network with Powerpuff Girls and look what happened....

Be advise to anyone wanting to reboot, don't do what they did

Hottest summer ever!

Image result for melting ice cream cone Melting ice cream cones,
Blistering sunburns,
         Eggs cooking on a sidewalk

What has this summer becoming? Hot!
   Hot!
        Hot!

I'm not joking anymore. Every year, I blog about how hot this summer has been. How can this one be any different?
Image result for sunburned Well it is not as similar as saying, it's now August, one of the hottest months ever. We are hearing thunderstorms on a sunny day, getting rain for a few seconds, then a downpour for one second.

Summer is almost over. I've seem ads for back to school since early July, right after the forth. And I wouldn't be surprised if I saw one Halloween commercials at the end of August.

Summer went by like a speeding bullet. As I said before, and I will say it again, since we've had a hot summer, our winter will be just as worst.

Not surprising, every day of July and August have been nothing but rain and rain and other days HOT SUN!!!!

The Sun is supposed to be considered the hottest star on earth let alone the galaxy, but does it have to burn us 24/7.
Making us take our clothes off and feel as if we need to get naked, turn our fans on and pray for winter???
God only knows. Not every Summer is like that. We've had pleasant summers that felt sort of like an early fall.

Enjoy what is left of it!

The story of Akeelah and the Bee

Spell A-k-e-e-l-a-h

  Now spell B-e-e

In this movie, revolving around a girl who tragically lost her father, and to cope with his death, she spells.

Her mother has her own problems.
Her oldest brother is in the Air Force and is taking off and her other brother is always getting in trouble with the law.

Image result for akeelah and the bee First off, Akeelah is portrayed by Keke Palmer, and this movie came out in 2006. Now she's all grown up and has a child of her very own.
Laurence Fishburne would come into the picture as Dr. Joshua Larabee. He see's how talented Akeelah is at a spelling bee that was taken place at her own school and challenges her with spelling words that even he finds that would chew and spit kids at tough spelling bee competitions. However, it seemed there was some sensitivity in him as well that Akeelah could see in his eyes.

When she makes it to the big leagues, she is defeated by a word, but since another child's mother was helping with the final word, thanks to Akeelah's older sister noticing from the other side of the room as she was taking care of her child, he was disqualified.

Akeelah makes a friend, and finds out there is one kid who had been the winner in past competitions; however, it doesn't seem that he wants to be the winner again since the pressure from his father was getting to him.
Image result for akeelah and the bee dylan Dylan Chiu seemed to be focused day and night while Akeelah and her friends were trying to relax before the biggest spelling bee competition ever.

By the end with words:

xanthosis, both Akeelah and Dylan spelled it wrong and it seemed that deep down Dylan did not care about winning for his father, he wanted Akeelah to win all along. He was already happy.

In my opinion, what made this movie amazing was it doesn't matter what you do to accomplish your goal, it's how you do it and who you it with. With the people you love, surrounding you at every moment. How you feel after the accomplishment, and what it was worth all this time. In Akeelah's eyes, She had her family, friends, and her father's spirit with her and as she says at the end....
