Is there a reason why these two cookies are one in another similar and different???
Yes they are from different companies but they are chocolate chip cookies. Many companies make their own all the time. Entemints, Pepperidge Farm....
But these two, I have eaten, while the rest I haven't.
How did they start, and why are they popular???
Chips Deluxe- Created by the Keebler Company in the sixties. Keebler cookies are considered magical and made in a hollow tree. What I think about Chips Deluxe, they're ok. I've had them before but I prefer their other cookie. A fudge stiped cookie. A cookie covered with fudge on the back, and stripes on the front.
The Keebler Company created the elves because they felt that Keebler sounded more like 'cobbler' So they decided to create some elves to make cookies, and crackers and potato chips and anything the Keebler Company can come up with.
Some were failures, and some were good, and Chips Deluxe is one of them. But why is it similar to Chips Ahoy?? They keep saying that they are better, but if you try other cookies, maybe they aren't. I've had the Fudge Stripes, and they are better than the Chips Deluxe.
Chips Ahoy!- A cookie with an exclamation point, yes, but there's something else about it as well. How they taste. They've changed their flavor profile so many times, believe me, it seems their flavor can be good at sometimes, and other times...
How they started out is with old advertisements of someone called "The Cookie Man" he was a superhero and he would save children with hunger issues or something like that. I don't even remember anymore.
The commercials they have now are kind of disturbing. Having cookies look like human beings. It's like those cinnamon toast crunch commercials. Why do they have to make cookies eat themselves? It seems so barbaric.
They even had a slogan back in the 80's "Betcha bite a chip." I guess it was impossible to bite a cookie without biting a chip. And now, they keep making the formula different every time. They even had a contest for someone who finds a cookie with no chocolate chips, they would win a million dollars. I don't anyone won that.
Both cookies are fine. Almost every one is unique, and with these two, they're both similar and different. I prefer Chips Ahoy because I grew up with that cookie the most. Although I like baking the tollhouse ones once in a while.
All cookies are good, edible, tasty. You name it. But my favorite would always be a chocolate chip cookie.
